Prideful Mannequin

Lei Xinyi sat in the backseat of Madam Lu sexy Bugatti, the car was one hell of a hot baby. Although Lei Xinyi wasn't too much invested in cars, she believed in flattering a beauty, when she sees one.

The whole ride was too solemn to be true for her.

Madam Lu was on her phone with some elite lady of the society backbiting about one of their mutual friend and all Lei Xinyi could do was play the game she usually played to kill boredom.

Madam Lu was what you call a Queen Gossipmonger. She was the house of all the gossips circulating in the elite society. She had connections everywhere.

Who was cheating on whom, who was seen with whom, who invested where, who was divorcing, who was marrying who…. Madam Lu knew it all.

Madam Lu was the only person Lei Xinyi did not have to put an act for because apparently the real Lu Xinyi was innocent, meek and easily angered person, who usually threw tantrums and argued with Madam Lu.

Although the girl was a total replica of her she was too naïve and emotional unlike Lei Xinyi who was vicious and scheming.

Right now they were driving in the Li estate which was double size of a football stadium.

As their ride came to a stop Lei Xinyi opened the car door. As she was about to step out Madam Lu ended her call and held her hand, stopping her.

Lei Xinyi gave her a questioning look and Madam Lu said in a stern tone that had a hint of… care, "Lu Xinyi, there are going to be other elite women, your future mother-in-law is not really….. fond of you. Be careful. Don't embarrass me by getting worked up."

Taking a pause to let it sunk in Madam Lu continued, "There is news circulating in the society that your fiancé had finally acknowledged you so she is going to be a little fierce. Don't be impolite. Although that young man hardly takes anyone in account, your future Mother-in-law hadn't ruled the upper society for years for nothing. Her approval is important for you."

"The woman is petty and rude to tell you the truth and if she hates someone she will use all her resources to make that person's life miserable. I am telling you this because you are on her red list and step or not you are my only daughter. I wouldn't like you making a fool out of me."

Handing a heavy Mahogany wooden box to Lei Xinyi Madam Lu said, "Hand this to your future mother-in-law. Say you prepared this Narcissus Wyui Oolong tea for her yourself. It is rarest of its kind. It will break the ice a little."

Madam Lu was right. Madam Li was a dangerous person but it was not because of her petty nature it was because of her 'resources'.

The Old Master Li and Old Master Yu fought together for many years and to cement their brotherhood decided that if they had a son and a daughter, they would marry them to each other.

But both of them had sons first and years later they had daughters but the ages differences were too much. In spite of that they married their sons and daughters together.

This proved to be a better way of controlling power struggle and two forces stayed co-habiting in the country without feud.

They intended to marry their grandchildren too but both the couple had only had sons.

Thinking about Li Yuan and Yu Youhan being a couple…. Lei Xinyi had a urge to gag.

Madam Li was the youngest of them all and the most arrogant too as Old Master Yu doted a lot on his only daughter. It was rumored that when she was married to Master Li she was only 18 years old.

Taking Madam Lu advice into consideration for a second, Lei Xinyi nodded seriously. It was no use provoking the fire breathing Mama Dragon, when she was planning in a couple of months.

Getting out of the Bugatti Lei Xinyi saw the Li Mansion that seemed to be a palace of a Mighty Emperor. The place could literally give refuge to a whole small city.

Lei Xinyi had seen the Mighty Yu mansion too many times up close but such magnanimous sights never seem to amaze her less. `

The Li Mansion emanated power and dominance with a twisted shade of elegance and class. Any looker would agree that the residents had a taste.

Lei Xinyi followed Madam Lu all through the castle-like Mansion into a place which could be said a sunroom, with rare species of herbs and flowers that Lei Xinyi could name with one look.

Between all that beauty seven ladies and a young woman were sitting on a round table. And the young woman was… Shen Chen, who was sitting beside Madam Li hiccupping with an aggrieved face.

Lei Xinyi eyebrow arched and face twisted looking at Madam Li patting her back soothingly.

This can't be anything good…

Realizing their arrival all the eyes turned to them and Lei Xinyi abruptly changed her expressions to a shy smile and timid eyes.

All the women in the room were looking at her with infuriated and displeased gazes but Madam Li was outright glaring at her with contempt.

Madam Lu ignored their reaction and cheerily greeted everyone in the room. Lei Xinyi made a nervous and aggrieved face at their reactions then gave a strained smile and greeted everyone.

Unknowingly every woman felt their heart stings fluttering by one look at the pain on the beautiful youth face. Madam Li felt the same but instantly hardened her heart.

As Lei Xinyi reached close to madam Li she greeted her gracefully bit her lower lip nervously and brought the tea wooden box forward, "Mom, I… I prepared this Narcissus Wyui Oolong tea for you. It is rare and refined to its finest. I hope you will like it."

Madam Li was infuriated by the girl calling her 'MOM' when she never acknowledged the girl but she couldn't say anything in front of these socialites to preserve her image.

Madam Li looked at the rare tea box with disdain and then turned her eyes filled with rage on Lei Xinyi. She slapped her hand hard on the table.

Lei Xinyi pretended to be intimidated as she jumped a step backward with fright. Inwardly Lei Xinyi rolled her eyes at the prideful mannequin tantrum.

Madam Li sneered and said with suppressed rage, "You hope I will like it?! You think I will ever like anything ever about you?! First you act like a wh*re and elope with some man then defame Xiao Chenchen in front of public!"
