A family in a small village

In Baoxin village lives a normal family who worked to survive each day. This family is the Xian family, the father Xian Bai works as a farmer selling most of their crops to merchants that passed. He had a weak body and was in his early thirties. His wife, Xian Ming is a beautiful housewife who also worked at the local pharmacy looks after their two sons, Xian Fei and Xian Hu who happened to be twins but both had different coloured eyes to each other.

In front of a worn-down cottage in a field filled with crops, two boys were sword fighting with sticks until suddenly one parried the other's sword before kicking him down and laughing.

"Ha~ I won!" Shouted a boy with short scruffy black hair and deep sapphire blue eyes with matching features that of the boy who was laying flat on the ground. The boy who lay flat was Xian Hu who instead of blue eyes had bright shimmering emerald eyes.

"Brother that's cheating how can you kick when we are sword fighting?!" Xian Hu complained to the victor who was his brother Xian Fei who stood triumphantly at his victory against his brother.

"Boys get your father and hurry back it's dinner time!" A soothing female voice called the two boys in a motherly tone.

""Yes Mother!"" the two boys responded in unison as they ran further into the field reveling a rather scrawny yet muscular man who had dark brown hair and blue eyes and was ploughing the field.

Both boys stopped not far from the man before Xian Hu said to his father eagerly "Father, Mother said its time to go home for dinner!"

"Ahh~ is it that time already? Fine, I'm on my way." Their father replied as he dropped his tools and began to follow the two boys don't their way home.

As they arrived home their beautiful mother greeted them with her graceful demeanor, soft skin and astonishing abyssal black hair and light brown eyes.

As they all ate around the dining table, their father suddenly put down his chopsticks as he then said "The Immortal Sword sect is recruiting next week in the city market and I plan to send our boys."

"W-what?" was all Xian Ming, the mother, could say astonished as what her husband had just said.

Knowing what his wife was worried about Xian Bai, the father, then reassured her saying, "I know what you're worried about but I heard about it 2 years ago by some of my friends and I have saved to allow them to take the test. And since they both turned 11 recently they have reached the threshold to attend."

"If this is what you truly wish for our children I will not argue." Xian Ming said with a calm expression but her tone contradicted her expression.

"We get to take the test to enter one of the great seven sects?!" Xian Hu then shouted as soon as his parents stopped speaking as if he was about to burst.

"Yes, you both will go to the city together next week although you will have to go alone but I will tell the leader of the carriage, Da Bing, about it tomorrow." Xian Bai as he stared lovingly at his two children. This was a look the two boys rarely saw.

Xian Bai was well aware that if his children passed this test their ties with the mortal world would be severed for many years but he also knew that if even one of his two sons could go to one of the great sects and train they could bring great prestige and wealth back. He did not do this for his own selfishness but he also saw how his children always pretended to be immortals and fight one another.

His wife on the other hand upon hearing this news was angry that he would not tell her but she was also sad that she would not be able to see even one of her sons for many years during the prime years of their youth.

A week then passed with the boys receiving much more attention than before by both of their parents accompanied by hugs and kisses every meal of the day by their mother. Their father also showed it in his own way by giving them more food during dinner and buying them sweets.

Now came the fateful day in which they would both head to the recruitment stage.

As they lay in their beds Xian Fei asked his brother "What if we don't pass?"

Xian Hu after a long moment of silence responded, "If we don't we will continue to work hard until we make them accept us no?"

"Haha~ I guess your right." Xian Fei laughed at his brothers' reassurance.

Xian Hu was actually deeply anxious but also brimming with excitement for tomorrow....

Hope you enjoyed it.

The main character is one of the brothers and it won't be both.

This is a shorter chapter than those that will come in the future as I just rushed this instead of sleeping but now I need sleep so goodnight XD
