Author's note: this is from Seraphina's point of view

"I am fine, I promise. I will be back home in a bit," I assured Duke. His deep voice, full of longing, only made me miss him more.

"How much is that bit? An hour? A minute? A second?"

I really didn't know what to do with him. He was clingy, and I loved it. If it were up to me, we wouldn't be apart, not even for a second, but that was impossible.

"It will take longer than three seconds, but I will be there soon."

"How soon are we talking about here? Where are you? Should I send Mitch to pick you up, or do you want me to come myself?" Duke asked. His serious tone told me that whining was over.
