Chapter 12: Warning

It's noon, but there's also a wind that cools them and once again an awkward silence. Maybe they want to enjoy the breeze of the wind.

"A nice breeze isn't?" Chief zect finally breaking the silence

Zed and his friends only nod, Chief Zect starts to tell Ray and his friends a story of how he got enrolled on The Shadow, he tell them how hard he was in the team.

The first fight he join was to fight a demon spy, the demon has been collecting some information about the Claude kingdom. They want to know about the geography of the Claude kingdom.

They successfully caught all of the spy, but then Zect felt something was off and told his comrade to back off from them, his comrade was puzzled that time.

Zect got no choice; he had to use force just to force them and one of the spy exploded. But some of his comrade die during the mission because they ignore Zect's warning.

None of the spy survive they all commit suicide by exlploding themselves, for the fall they got a honoured funeral. Some of Zect's comrades resign after the incident.

They feared the job, only four left including Zect, they had a great day they drink and eat together finishing their job successfully. But all of that not last forever because of one mission, their chief die.

It's a vampire king subjugation they have been suspected of doing some slave trading between race and even killing people of other races. So the chief responds to the report and start despatching his unit to subjugate the vampire king.

On the way to the vampire king's place by horse, they rush to go there undetected. Unfortunately the vampire king's right hand man get on their way. He also got a different aura.

Just by looking at him their spine suddenly got a chill, the chief halted their movement, he requested that three of them run away.

"But why chief?" Zect can't accept that he got to run away from the mission

"It's too dangerous, for three of you are still young, you can still sharpen your skill" the chief told them with a grieved voice.

"But chief plea-" Zect still not giving up

"Just get away from here,now!!" but got cut by the Chief he shouted at them

They can't hold their tears anymore; they nod and leave their chief alone fighting with the vampire king right hand man. Finally Zect and his comrade has escaped leaving his chief and the right hand man of the vampire king.

"So you really think that you can won against me" a manly voice of the right hand man

"My name is Vale, the current chief of The Shadow investigation team so there's no way you gonna let me pass right?"

"Ops how rude, my name is Zark the current right hand man of vampire"

They glance at each other and emit a very strong aura that can explode at any time. The air around them became dense, they started to approach each other.

The right hand man started to strike with his lightning fast fist but Vale dodge it easily, Vale counter it with a lightning fast kick. Zark also dodge it easily.

While Zect and his comrade are getting away from the battlefield, explosions can be seen from their place and they suddenly stop the explosion getting tense and tense.

'Chief' his heart beating faster he really want to witness the intense battle between his chief and the right hand man. He steel his heart to charge in the battlefield.

"Guys, I'm gonna head back to the battlefield it's okay if you guys don't want to follow me just go straight to the HQ"

After a short conversation Zect charged into the battlefield, but he didn't expect that his comrade would also want to witness their Chief's intense fight.

Meanwhile on the battlefield, it turns out to be magical warfare between Vale and Zark. They exchange a magic blast but none of them hit their target. But Vale will run out of mana if he continue to use magic.

Then Vale thought something that he must do to defeat Zark his plan is to use a clone and use stealth to get behind Zark and stab him with a sun magic coated sword. Why the sun? Because vampire weakness is a sun magic source if Vale manages to stab Zark with that sword he can actually damage or kill Zark.

So he proceed with his plan, he made some distraction first so Zark shift his attention to somewhere, he threw a few magic blast towards Zark but Zark managed to deflect all the magic.

Dust surrounding the battlefield and his chance to proceed with his plan and started to summon a clone and stealth and they depart, Zark on the other side feels something fishy.

He can sense two entities are approaching him but he doesn't know where he sharpens his senses and gets ready for a strike.

He sense an attack from the front and saw a sun magic just when he tried to attack Vale that appeared on the front, he sensed one more enemy approach from behind.

His thoughts were filled with hesitation: could this two be clones or actually one of them is real? he had to make a split second decision whether he should attack both or ignore one. After so many thoughts come to his mind he decides to attack the one that comes from behind.

With all his might he shoot a magic blast to the one that strike from behind

'boom'

But his eye widen after seeing that was an illusion and the real one was in the front, he felt for the it to think he got fool by Vale he can't dodge it and

'stab'

Vale sword finally reach Zark guts and Zark coughing blood after getting stab with the sun magic.

But Vale didn't know that his subordinates are coming back, after he stabbed Zark he sensed three people were actually hiding behind a tree and the magic blast that Zark released were heading towards them with lightning speed and vast.

After confirming the three people were his subordinates he can't let them get hit by the vast magic blast, so he must decide whether to kill Zark or save his subordinate.

After giving some thoughts he decides to save his subordinates and leave Zark on the battlefield. He rushed towards Zect.

'please make it, please make it'

While Zect has realised something big is coming he's already too late, they can only close their eye and pray that they will survive the attack.

"Live and protect the people Zect" a husky voice coming from Vale

'boom'

A figure standing in front of them shielding them from getting hit by the vast magic blast.

After shielding Zect and another comrade he slowly fell to the ground, Zect remembering the last words that the chief gave him froze in the scene. After a few second tears drop from their eye they can only hold a dead body.

While watching the heart breaking scene Zark pull out the sword coated with sun magic from his body, and his subordinates tell him whether he should also kill Vale subordinate or not.

But Zark says no he respects Vale as a first warrior that injured him, They returned and left Zect and the two Vale's subordinates.

A few years have passed and Zect becomes the new chief, the two of his comrades have pledged to become Zect's bodyguard; he swears that if he ever counters with Zark he will fight him all out.

"And here I am, become a new chief it's been 10 years since the incident"

Ray and his friends also shed tears after hearing Chief Zect's story, Chief Zect became a strong person now he promised to protect everyone.

A figure floating in the sky blocking their way and it seems familiar.
