'So, when I use [Absorb!] on a non-living thing, they disintegrate and become a fine material. Marbled tile turns into some kind of sand. Not sure, when the skill is applied to another different surface material. From the looks of it, the material might disintegrate into a different finer version.'
Shervo proceeds to dig the now sandy tile. She throws all of the material away behind using her claw. Until there is a pile of brown soil on top of the sandy soil beside Krilo.
There are several things that concern him with the digging strategy. Firstly, they don't know which direction they will pop out from the ground. But one thing they know of is not to dig to their left, that's where the ambush occured. Even so, Krilo is yet to understand the extent of the ambush.
Second, He is somewhat unsure about the soil integrity. A landslide when they are digging the earth can happen anytime. It would result in the catastrophic scenario that they would be buried alive.
Not only that. They still don't know where to go next.
'Might as well try' thinks Krilo.
Shervo continues digging, while the team is waiting for the good news of her return. They all stare into the hole. Except Niva who crouches near the Foxtren body. Searching for something in his pocket.
Took a very simplistic necklace that displays a seashell. The rope to the pendant is almost a strand. Maybe because the sweat that comes from the Foxtren's neck worsens its rope quality.
Niva then put the necklace in his pocket. Preparing to leave him here for good.
Krilo walks over to Niva. "What happened to him?"
"Something … happened." After briefly saying so, he looks at Lula who is supervising the hole. Then looks at Krilo while displaying a facade smile. "Maybe later, I will tell you."
Knowing what happened with Niva is not Krilo's utmost urgency right now. Maybe it is best to let his companion figure himself out.
Not long, Shervo has already made her way back to the marbled room.
She whispers to Lula before Krilo can ask Shervo first. Maybe that's the real procedure for compfreunding. Acting first by asking Shervo might raise suspicion with her companion. Krilo should always be aware of his boundaries as a compfreund.
"The tunnel that Shervo digs, stops at a currently empty [Abyss Devourer] access point. The problem is there are two guards that are guarding the whole place."
'[Abyss Devourer]?' Another one vocabulary that is foreign to him.
"Is there any other alternative?" asks Niva somewhat wary of their prospect.
"Unfortunately no, there is a barrier of hardrock in left and right. Shervo is not strong enough to dig through the barrier." Lula put his palm on her face. Krilo can sense Lula's annoyance because Niva sounds like he expected more from Shervo digging.
Niva is not replying any further.
Krilo asks his companion about the strange vocabulary. Niva then tells him about an organization that vanquishes The Void. That wreaked havoc long ago.
He is somewhat surprised to see there is The Void that got mention from Niva's mouth, similar to the dark being that gave him power. And also surprised when The Void had casted another tragedy that befalls humanity after the attack of the mechanical beast. Two hundred years in the future after.
'There is so much that I need to follow up.' Krilo feels helpless but vows that the tragedy that he would inflict will be much worse than the realm can see.
Lula inspects the hole that Shervo had dug. "It se-seems like enough for humans like us to e-enter." Lula told everyone. Krilo can feel the lady stutter between her sentences. Her hands also twitched more than Krilo saw earlier.
The yellow compfreund suddenly senses a bad feeling with his team mental health.
Another thing that he thought of is the capability of those guards. But Krilo is discouraged from telling what he knows before looking at the full picture of the access point.
Shervo and Lula go first, then Krilo with Niva all the way behind. They humans have to crawl inside to fit. One of the two things that makes Krilo grateful for becoming a short bipedal animal. The other, is admiring the full view of Lula's buttocks in front of him.
There are several crossroads that end in grey underground stone. 'Looks like Shervo is telling the truth, there is so much hardrock in this area.'
There is a strange orangish light that comes from the front. Lula in front of him then stops. Almost made him crash onto her butt.
"We finally arrived at the access point," whispers Lula.
Krilo stops to inform the Niva behind him. He just nods awkwardly, distracted for whatever reason in his mind.
Fortunately, Shervo digs the tunnel in a way that the four of them can stand side by side. The inside is so huge that their digging point dwarfs the actual entrance from another room.
It seems like they arrived at the descending point. A big hole that is covered with a blue layer of glowing astral seal. The blue colored seal is likely made from [Arcane Wizard] that exhibits blue energy. They are most likely born in the area that is rich in blue energy. High probability that they are in fact, a native Gewjorian.
Krilo remembers something. 'Niva told me that his mother has a green compfreund. Most likely the yellow genes that he is exhibiting in me actually comes from his father. But he never actually remembers anything about his biological father. However, the real problem is the fact that no one knows where the yellow essence's existence in this realm.'
"Do you know anything about our situation?" Krilo is bound to ask the necessary question with his companion. He wants to test the group.
"Good question. It is the room that is used by the [Abyss Devourer] to descend to the underworld below. Fighting The Void and its army. But our objective is to run through there, right?" Niva is asking Shervo.
"Yes, the way out is over there sir." Shervo tells Niva.
He then shoves Krilo lightly and whispers. "What did she say?"
"She says that you are correct." Krilo half heartedly passes the answer to Niva. He is also somewhat fed up with the difference in communication with non-related companions.
Although Krilo doubts that Shervo is actually checking what's waiting for them at the end of the hall.
