Goals

After a couple more minutes of banging my head against the wall I have finally finished my self punishment. Though Double seems rather Sure in his idea, it just doesn't make any sense. I know what that magic Item could do, and it clearly is something made for or by the Wretched king. I only have one month. One month to kill the king of Wretches. If I divide my time smart enough maybe I could get somewhere. After I mentally pound my head into the ground thinking about what I need to do in this situation shell speaks for the first time on her own.

{Master would you like a recommendation?}

"Sure shell anything that could help." I say desperately looking for a way to accomplish this insane task.

{The quest you got doesn't count as a daily quest. Maybe accepting a quest could help you get stronger in time for you to find that Weird King guy}

After checking my status I gasp in relief as I realize that I actually have a path to go towards. I quickly ask the question for a quest.

The system is going absolutely insane. The bug appeared once more. But this time the system didn't react. I quickly avoid the strange quest and accept the first Quest, obviously easy and I don't want to piss off the forest anymore than I have to.

It seems like I have quite a lot I have to do. I first have to find some Wretches. Even though it will take some time to work out where the Wretches are I am sure if I go outside at night I can find a handful of them I am sure. And maybe if I kill some than maybe they will come out with a little more force if they feel like they will be threatened.

I disappear with double and the ape for awhile deep into the forest. After a little while the sound of creatures returns to the silent forest. A happiness wells inside of me after hearing the familiar sound. Well I suppose it is time to revisit the place I haven't been to in what feels like forever. I see the small cave, it's form vivid in my memory as I enter it. Though it looks to be ransacked it fills me with a great feeling of being at home almost.

After double starts to sleep I look at Big Ape and say a few words "I am going out to hunt to night".

The Ape looks at me highly confused and decides that he doesn't want a piece of what ever I am going to try to get and instead decides to settle down and sleep.

After walking in the night of the forest I hear sounds of nightmares. The forest seems alive with activity but a different type compared to the normal sound. The forest is filled with the nameless murmuring of Wretches. I suppose the small amount that filled the forest has now exceeded the amount I had expected. After a while of looking I find a single wretch slowly walking through the forest. It was at this moment I was alerted something.

<Stealth has leveled up to level 4>

I think it's great that it is leveling up, it is way better for me to start truly leveling up my abilities instead of letting them stagnate. I look at the weak wretch as I quickly pounce on it eliminating it in one strike. I am surprised by the alert given by it.

<You have killed a Tier 1 Walking Wretch LV 7, you have gained no EXP do to tier difference>

I used to not even be able to gain exp from wretches and from what it seems like if I were to run into a higher tier wretch I could get EXP. Something seems to have changed to make it to where I am able to gain EXP from these creatures. Strange I think as I slowly move through the forest looking for more prey. I kill around 10 Wretches easily before running into a wretch a bit more dangerous than the others. This Wretch is much larger than the standard Wretches. A hulking mass of muscle and flesh. A bone white armor seems to be on the outside of his body as he rushes through the forest slowly destroying tree after another, one step at a time. The monstrous strength this creature shows is insane, it can destroy a tree with one blow, and it seems to be doing it leisurely. This might be a bit difficult but there is no doubt in my mind that I will be able to kill this Wretch.

I prep a lightning spike in preparation for the incoming fight. After a short period of time the spell is ready and I launch it directly to the thick neck of the creature. The spike whistles forward and seemingly cuts through the bone armor of creature but barely leaves a dent in the strange skin of the creature. It seems as though my lightning almost does nothing against this strange muscled creature. Well it was worth a shot. I quickly dash towards the creature and sink my teeth into the hole in the armor. The teeth seem to pierce through the skin much better than any creature before. This Steel Fangs skill is seriously awesome. I dig into it's flesh after gripping on for dear life as the creature starts spinning around with great force causing a dangerous amount of wreckage. After a while it decides to bang it's neck into a tree repeatedly. Dealing a massive amount of damage to me. But I persevere feeling my poison working on the hulking beast.

The creature doesn't seemed as geared towards physical defense as it does towards magical defense strangely. After 10 minutes I feel my jaw giving out as the creature finally lays dead. The notification quickly gets sent out by the system.

<You have slayed tier 4 Hulking Magic Wretch LV: 23, total exp is 230.>

Nice, finally a scrap of EXP, that thing was pretty high level, no wonder the fight was difficult. Even though Magic is OP on against normal creatures I have a feeling I should start focusing on getting some physical skills and start working on my basic skills before I focus anymore on magic. Seriously I have a feeling Physical skills could be just as powerful as magic later on down the road, if not more powerful.

A nice surprise awaits as a new notification pops up once more.

<You have leveled Iron Jaw to level 5, you may no longer level up this skill, please evolve the skill to further level it up>

<You have leveled up Improved Venom to Level 3>

<You have leveled up Venom Strike to level 5, you may no longer level up this skill, please evolve this skill to further level it up>

Nice, this is great. I have enough evolution points to evolve both of the the skills, though I will be left with only two points left I believe it will be highly worth it. I go back to the cave after killing around 50 in total that night. I check the quest progression before I evolve the two skills.

<Wretched Genocide: 50/1000 Wretches killed, 6 days left.>

Though the rate in which I killed them is pretty slow, I a sure I can pick up the pace in the next few days. Especially after evolving my two skills some.

<Congratulations on Evolving Iron Jaw please choose one of the following options to evolve it to>

Unrelenting Jaw LV 1:

This skill allows the user to grapple without any mana cost as a price. The ability to grapple will increase if you level up this skill.

Crushing Jaw LV 1:

This skill allows the user to crush armor and bones easily. When pared with penetration it becomes a truly strong force. Leveling it up will increase this skill ability immensely.

Magic Jaw LV 1:

This skill allows the user to destroy magical defenses with ease making the target more vulnerable to magical attacks. This skills improves as you level this ability up.

Though Magic Jaw is nice and Unrelenting Jaw is awesome, Crushing Jaw is the ability I really need. I have kinda been slacking on my physical combat skills and it could be of great use.

<Congratulations on Evolving Venom Strike please choose one of the following options to evolve it to>

Venom Pounce LV 1:

This ability allows you to attack using this skill at a much higher speed than previously. Your speed while Venom Pouncing is doubled. This speed is increased with higher levels.

Vital Venom Bite LV 1:

This ability allows the user to attack vital parts of the enemy easier. This increases damage and venom is guided to the vital organs of the creature.

Magic Venom Strike LV 1:

This ability allows the user to infuse mana into there attacks. This greatly increases the effects of the attack but cost 20 mana per strike. Increasing this skills level increases it's ability.

Well Vital Venom Bite seems to be the best evolution. Though the other abilities are cool they all focus on an aspect I have already upgraded quite a lot. My speed and mana based attacks are already off the charts. I think its about time I focus on some physical upgrades.

After selecting my choices a familiar notification is sounded.

<Warning this may be dangerously uncomfortable>

"WHAT THE HELL THIS PAIN IS LIKE NO OTHER IT BURNS YET FEELS SO GOOD."

I hoped you enjoy the chapter. I hope you have a great day, expect one more chapter later today.
