Chapter Fourteen- The Schatten Gardien: Our Parents

All the four of them stared at the book in utter shock as they continued reading it.

· Aoi Kurosawa- Member, mother to the destined female Musik warrior

· Azusa Kurosawa- Member, father to the destined female Musik warrior.

The council of the Schatten Gardien which grew under the leadership of Sebastian Gardien proved to be one of the most powerful Gardiens in existence. Their handling of matters in the world of Schatten and Licht after the mysterious deaths of two successive kings of Licht can only be considered commendable.

Also, the members of the recent Gardien, who by principle were bound in Holy Matrimony were rumoured or rather destined to be giving birth to one of the most powerful warriors in the history of the magical world, excluding the Sangre, of course- the Two Musiks and the Zia.

The Musiks, born every fifty years are agile warriors known for their use of the power of music as weapons in addition to being able to use Shadow magic. Much to the disadvantage to the Army of Schatten, the Musiks are always born in pairs and are not immortal like the Royal Family.

The Zia, on the other hand, is considered to be one of the most powerful beings in the whole magical world, in Schatten and Licht alike. Born to the people of the Schatten, the Zia can also be considered as a person of the kingdom of Licht, having the aptitude for both manipulating the magic of shadows as well as the lights.

Born every hundred years, the Zia is usually considered as a counterpart to the heir of the Licht kingdom, though not immortal. Rumour has it that the Zia can gain immortality by marrying the heir of the Kingdom of Schatten. However, there are no such shreds of evidence that prove that any Zia has been engaged in Holy Matrimony to the heir of the Schatten Kingdom.

'I swear to God something is wrong with this book.' Aaron was pretty much terrified, 'Why the fuck is our parents' names there?'

'I really don't wanna know what else is there in that book.' Jennifer was clearly shaking.

'I think we should read further, we've started and we should end this.' Jayden suggested, trying to hide the fear clear in his voice.

'I really don't want to.' Jennifer's voice quivered.

'Me neither, but it would be really weird to leave it hanging like that. Maybe we can find some answers to the questions.' Raiden suggested.

All four of them looked at the book and sighed. There was nothing else that they could do now other than reading the book further.

Clarissa and Jason Harrison Storm

Clarissa and Jason Storm, prophesised parents to the Zia are the heads of the Blood Sacrifice/ Sangre ceremony in the Schatten Gardien. Just like Sebastian, these two are experts in their fields of magic.

Clarissa, the female head, is the strongest woman in the Gardien. Famous for her skills in levitation and polymorphism, she can change her form into any other person, animal or even an inanimate object without a single shred of casualties. She's also very lethal, known to have been born to parents who had served in the Vampire army and also been testified for the killing of innocent people from the kingdom of Licht who tried to enter Schatten.

Jason, the male head, is also a strong member in the Gardien, though not as strong as his spouse Clarissa. Jason is more of the experienced warrior than a magical person is known for his "Red-Violet eye technique" technique of killing, one that can only be found in the Storm heirs. It is said that Jason can kill almost any opponent with this technique. The violet eye freezes all the magical ability and vital organs of the opponent while the red-eye turns them to stone, effective and immediate. Although no such evidence has been found, Jason Storm is rumoured to have been one of the most hardened criminals in Schatten.

The other members of the Gardien

THE BLACKS- Unlike the Storms, Martha and Kevin are not such strong members of the Schatten, almost lacking an aptitude of magic in them. While Martha can still manipulate the shadows to a small extent, Kevin's ability can be considered almost zero. However, in spite of their inability in magic, the Blacks have proven to be quite useful in other tasks that are important in the kingdom of Schatten- especially drawing out new strategies and Battle plans for the kingdom.

THE STEVENSON- One of the oldest families in the Schatten, the Stevenson family is famous for producing a long line of musik warriors, however all of them male. With part Vampire blood running through their veins, the Stevensons are gifted with the ability to polymorph as well as wings in their anatomy. Just as sharp as the vampires and smart as the Black family, the Stevenson family continues to provide the male Musik warrior to the Imperial Army of Schatten.

THE KUROSAWA'S- The Kurosawa family, just like the Stevensons, is famous for producing a line of Musik warriors, however female. The Kurosawa family, however unlike the family of Stevenson, were pretty much a recent addition to the Schatten family, when Klaris Jais married the human Kenji Kurosawa. People almost believed that the Kurosawa family would now produce the Sangre. However, turned out, Kurosawa family did have magical ancestry which allowed them to produce a powerful family.

Raiden, Jennifer, Aaron and Jayden just sat there silently, trying to absorb everything they had just read. Seeing their principal had already given them the gooseflesh and now, reading about their parents seemed to be another punch in the gut.

'I swear I am never touching that book again.' Raiden gingerly closed the book with her eyes still widened.

'I-I just can't b-b-believe our parents will be something like that, 'Jennifer's lips quivered, 'My parents are really peaceful people. They couldn't even tolerate me cursing, let alone killing and fighting.'

Raiden just sat there in deep thought. Just like Jennifer had said even her parents were peaceful people. She had always known her mother to strive to peace all the time. Always against troublemaking and fights, there was not a day Raiden did not receive a scolding for her mother. And whenever Raiden got expelled from a school, her mother was just like the devil. However, she couldn't stay angry for long.

'I really regret following that shadow now,' Raiden confessed, 'if I hadn't gone after it; I wouldn't have come across this book and this wouldn't have happened.'

Jayden rubbed Raiden as she pressed the heels of her palms and sobbed. 'I'm so sorry,' she mumbled.

'It's not your fault,' Jayden tried to console her, 'I think it's rather good you found it. We wouldn't have known this stuff about our parents if you had not gone after it.'

'Yeah, but I think it was better than this stuff was in our ignorance.'

'I think that was the best thing you did, instead of reading the book by you and wait for us, I guess. Thanks for that.'

Jayden checked his watch. They had been in the library for three hours now.

'I think we should go back to the dorm and settle this. Ms Renata and the others will probably be wondering where we are.'

'Yeah, I guess you're right.'
