Born of the wastelands, Spheris Arnadel, a young skilled thief, finds himself subject to a twist of fate when he steals a powerful relic and becomes a Bearer — humans gifted with powers from the Gods. As a punishment for his theft, he is cast into an otherworldly realm alongside other Bearers, where he faces off against monstrous beasts and powerful enemies. Yet, in his determination to return to the Continent and save his dying mother, Spheris is hell-bent on surviving the abyssal world. Even if it means giving his body to the Dark God whose powers he had stolen... even if it means losing all of his humanity.
There were mainly two ways to Bridge into Knightmare;
One would have to succumb to Morgander's Gaze of Slumber, which would throw them into a deep sleep and capture their conscience, dragging it into the world of Knightmare.
Or, one would attain a moonflame flower, chew on its petals with a companion who could either be a Traveler Mage or a Portalist. They will both fall into a deep sleep and their consciences will be present in the same dream space. Then, the Traveler Mage or Portalist will create a Bridge that leads straight into Knightmare.
Complicated, yes. Much more complicated than the other Expanded Realms, but that is what Morgander's powers granted her.
For Daligarth, he did not require a companion to Bridge him into the Expanded Realm as he had already climbed the Ranks of a Mage at that point in his illustrious life.
