Born of the wastelands, Spheris Arnadel, a young skilled thief, finds himself subject to a twist of fate when he steals a powerful relic and becomes a Bearer — humans gifted with powers from the Gods. Avira didn't move, she only glared at the approaching attack with scornful annoyance. "Foolish. Foolish. So painfully foolish!"
She raised her hand and caught the speeding attack like it was a harmless ball. Then, pressing her fingers into its core, Umbrage burning on her hands, she shattered the Influence into smoke.
Nero and Cerene frowned in shock, eyes widened. When the smoke started to clear, they peered through its thickness, but Avira was not there.
"Where is she?" Nero whispered.
Out of the shadows behind them, Avira [Leaped], Umbrage burning in her eyes. "This ends now!" she cried.
Nero and Cerene turned around to see her raising the [Echo Of Despair] with a burning potent energy of Umbrage pulsing on its edges. This was going to be a fatal strike.
