He is now crowned as the prince. He can already convince himself that he is worthy enough to be the princess' husband. Though no one knows all the things he did just to protect the princess, he is still happy that the king's older twin is not touching her. That's what he thought. When he was on his way to their chamber, he caught a glimpse of Reiki going inside. His instincts told him that his wife will be in danger.
"My king, what are you doing here in our chamber?" He asked when he arrived there and saw Reiki standing at the edge of their bed.
Fuyu was asleep and taking rest since she just gave birth to the little prince a few days ago. His heart started to pound loudly. He is nervous of what will happen in the future. He needs to tell everything to Riku soon. Reiki looked at him and smiled innocently. How can a demon like him smile like that?
"I just want to see my grandson." He said and Sho prevented himself from attacking him when he held his son in his arms.
"Fuyu will be the one to name him. I'm sure she will have a good name for our little prince." Sho said instead. He took his seat on the bed.
His palms are cold and sweating. He held Fuyu's hand gently and after a while, Reiki placed back the little prince inside the crib and left them alone. He almost lost his breath because of nervousness. He lied down besides Fuyu and held her close. He can't bear to lose either of them. He placed a kiss on her forehead and hugged her gently.
"I'm sorry for leaving you alone." He mumbled while trying to ease his nervousness. Fuyu stirred from her sleep and saw him.
"What's wrong?" She mumbled but he just shook his head and smiled. He doesn't know if she heard what he said but he hopes that she didn't.
A few hours had passed and he went out of their chamber. Most of the creatures are already taking their rest. His palm touched the wall and a black door appeared on it. Riku is currently under the care of the former Princess of Envy, Akari. The woman thought that she got a trump card against the king but little did she know, Reiki is just using her to conceal their truth.
"My king, I'm already here." He whispered as the black door led him to the basement where Akari kept him.
"What happened this time?" Riku asked as he quietly opened the cell for him to get out and take a seat on the bed.
"We need to do our plans already. I saw your twin going to our chamber where Fuyu and the little prince are currently staying at and if I didn't follow him immediately, they might have been dead now." This is very alarming for both of them.
If Reiki can do this to the princess, it also means he can do it to the queen. It is not easy for them to execute their plans but they need to do it. Sho looked down when he realized that he needed to kill his own wife using his bare hands. He knows she will not be able to forgive him but for her sake, he will do it. He also knows she always wishes that she will have the chance to go back to the human world. Even if it will hurt him, he will give her the freedom that she wants. Same for the queen's situation. They know they will shed tears but they prefer to hide it than to let the love of their lives see it.
"We will do it. I found my little brother already. He will help us." Riku said and he just nodded. It is very painful for the king. It is like giving her up.
The underworld became chaotic when the queen went missing. Sho brought his wife to his home but still, danger is lurking around. The level of hatred and anger the two women have for the two men towered when Reiki made the queen kill their youngest brother, Itsuki. The chaos turned out worse and Sho just slumped down the floor while staring at his wife's corpse. The next one to die is the queen and he saw how the queen killed herself in front of the king, following the princess to the human world.
Everything that happened is the consequences of their love for the two women. As long as they are in safe hands, they are willing to suffer. The agreement continued until Gia's son with Itsuki came to kill Akari. They learned that Reiki fell in love with her and he started to blame Riku for her death. Who would not be devastated if the woman he loved loves his younger twin instead? And most of all, she died because she wanted to kill the queen.
"You know what to do." Riku said when they heard footsteps fast approaching. Sho nodded and he stood up to open the cell.
"You're his right-hand man. You kill him." Reiki threw the silver dagger near his feet. This demon will never let his hands get tainted with blood.
"I don't have any reason to kill him." He was so firm when he said that but he fell on his knees since Reiki kicked his legs and got the silver dagger to point it to his neck.
"Stop that. Don't kill him. Kill me instead. You planned this long time ago already, right? This is the right time to do it." Riku said and the older one raised a brow.
"Are you acting like a hero now?" He asked but he shook his head. He materialized another silver dagger and he threw both towards Riku's chest.
The younger twin's eyes widened as blood started to flow out from his mouth. Sho clenched his fists tightly while glaring at Reiki. He should be strong. The princess is back to the kingdom and he can't let her know that his real father is now dead. Reiki walked out of the cell and left the two alone. There were no servants nor guards around. When Reiki completely left the place, Riku started to cough some blood again while panting heavily. No one can kill him that fast. He has the pure demon blood and he can easily revive himself after being killed like that.
"You need to go now. Hurry. The war will cease for a decade and I'll need to transfer my demonic powers to Fuyu first. She is the fated one." Sho whispered and Riku nodded. His body started to glow and in a snap, he disappeared like a bubble.
Sho picked the silver daggers up and went back to the kingdom's hall silently. He felt relieved when he saw Fuyu with their son, Yuuki. He smiled faintly, remembering the things he did to her. He is still hoping she will be able to forgive him and love him genuinely.
