Chapter 42

" wait a minute what about my prize, give me back my prize" shouted Issei as he cried tears of blood.

Roxanne looked at him strangely before an understanding look appeared in her eyes, she then turned to Rias and said,

" You might want to cool his fire, or I really pray for the safety of his sanity"

Saying so she disappeared leaving an embarrassed Rias.

Rias turned to Issei and said,

"Issei as punishment for ruining the image of our peerage I forbid you from touching us for a week "

" Nooooooooooooooooooo" Issei howled in despair.

"So, what do you think of your rival, the White Dragon Emperor?" Roxanne asked, still in her Shaltier disguise. Next to her stood Luciana, holding one end of a chain that bound a kneeling figure encased in white armor.

The armored figure, Vali Lucifer, didn't respond. He struggled fiercely against the cursed chains, attempting to break free. Roxanne sighed at his defiance and approached, flicking his armor with her finger.

The moment she touched it, the armor began to disintegrate, revealing a handsome young man with dark silver hair and piercing hazel eyes. He wore a dark green V-neck shirt under a high-collared black leather jacket, paired with burgundy jeans adorned with a silver chain and black leather chaps on his right calf. His black shoes gleamed, reflecting his rebellious nature.

Vali glared at Roxanne with palpable hatred, his killing intent flaring. Roxanne, unphased by the hostility, teasingly remarked, "Don't get so worked up just because you couldn't have your grand entrance, you chūnibyō brat."

Vali's killing intent dissipated as he looked away in frustration, his pride bruised. Roxanne chuckled at his reaction. She extended her hand and erected a new barrier, layering it over the existing ones. This one, however, shimmered with Void energy, isolating the space completely.

As the barrier took shape, her disguise slowly faded, revealing Roxanne in her casual attire: a simple black T-shirt and jeans, her cross-shaped necklace glinting around her neck. "Now that I've dropped the act, I suppose we're even, right, Vali Lucifer?"

Vali's eyes widened, then narrowed with venomous suspicion. "How do you know about my lineage? Did that bastard send you?" His voice seethed with hatred. If it weren't for the chains, he would have attacked her without hesitation.

Roxanne smirked. "Why do I know? Well, isn't it only natural for elders to know about their juniors in the same clan?"

As she spoke, Roxanne mentally commanded, 'Ciel, release the seals on my devil bloodline.'

[As you wish, master,] Ciel responded.

In that instant, something extraordinary began to happen.

~ Vali POV ~

Today was supposed to be another boring day. You know, sneaking out with my team, annoying some gods, trash-talking fallen angels, and gathering dirt to blackmail the old man. The usual. But Kokabiel? That guy snapped and went rogue. Not that I care—I never liked him. Though it's surprising that 15% of the fallen angel population followed him. Loyal fools.

Well, that's Azazel's headache, not mine. He's probably faking his concern anyway. Despite being a perverted nerd, the guy is annoyingly observant. Wouldn't surprise me if he already knew I've been sneaking out. But does he care? No. His research always comes first, even before Gregory.

Then I got a message to meet the old pervert himself. With a sigh, I figured I might as well get this over with.

"So, Azazel, this better be good," I said as I entered his office.

Azazel grinned like an idiot. "Haha, come on, Vali, shouldn't you start with 'Hey, Dad, how was your day?' or something?"

I rolled my eyes. "How many holes did you fill today, Azazel?"

His smile twitched, but of course, he said nothing. His shamelessness was, as usual, impressive.

Sighing, he leaned forward on his desk. "Kokabiel's been spotted in Kuoh Town. I need you to retrieve him."

"No thanks. Send someone else. Too much trouble."

Azazel's grin widened. "What if I told you the Red Dragon Emperor is in Kuoh Town?"

My interest piqued. "Go on."

Azazel's eyes gleamed with mischief. "The current Red Dragon Emperor is a reincarnated devil of the Gremory household. And since Kuoh Town falls under the jurisdiction of the Gremorys and the Sitris, they'll be handling Kokabiel's mess."

A grin spread across my face. "Is he strong?"

"Hehe, the kid's interesting. Why don't you find out for yourself?"

"Fine, I'm heading out." Without another word, I teleported to Kuoh Town, eager for the fight.

As I unfolded my Sacred Gear, Divine Dividing, I flew toward the school where Kokabiel's aura emanated. After a minute or two, something strange happened.

"Hey, Albion, are we in a separate space?" I asked.

[Now that you mention it, yes. We've been transported to another dimension, and judging by the energy signatures, we aren't alone.]

"Well, well. This just got interesting," I muttered, preparing to crash the party. But before I could make a move, mist swirled around me, obscuring my vision.

"I'm sorry, but I cannot allow you to interfere with our mission, White Dragon Emperor," said a woman who suddenly appeared before me.

"Oh? And who are you to give me orders?" I asked, my fists already clenched, ready to blast her away.

"Greetings, my name is Luciana. I'm here to deliver a message from my mistress. Kindly follow me, and do not interfere," she said, her aura flaring.

She was strong. And strong opponents were always worth fighting.

Without hesitation, I fired a spell at her face, but she sighed, raising an ice barrier that blocked the attack with ease.

"Albion, let's go. Balance Breaker."

{Vanishing Dragon, Balance Breaker!}

As my armor materialized, I immediately started dividing her energy, weakening her. She responded by launching an ice spell at me, which I quickly divided. But I didn't expect what happened next.

While I was distracted by her ice spike, a chain shot out like a serpent, heading straight for me.

"Vali, don't let that chain bind you! Run!" warned Albion.

"Yeah, no need to tell me twice," I muttered, dodging the chain. But then, out of nowhere, an ice wall appeared, trapping me.

The chains constricted around me like a snake capturing its prey. Worse, I felt my energy draining.

"Apologies for the rudeness, Vali-sama, but you're now coming to meet my mistress," Luciana said, her tone not nearly as apologetic as her words suggested.

'I officially hate this woman,' I thought, gritting my teeth as she dragged me toward an undamaged building. She waited there for ten minutes, doing absolutely nothing.

Just as I was about to yell at her, Kokabiel's aura vanished. A few more minutes passed before a portal opened, and another woman stepped out. Unlike Luciana, this girl radiated danger. Even Albion went on high alert.

But my caution evaporated when she said my last name. Only a handful of people knew about that. Azazel wouldn't have told anyone. That left only one possibility—these people were connected to him.

As I tried to tune out her rambling, something changed. My bloodline felt it—something in that girl had shifted. It was powerful. Too powerful.
