Jade got her luggage and purse. She then circled around and started looking at her old bedroom with sadness in her eyes. Her big queen bed with pink sheets and pink pillows, her stuff toys, and most of all the memories that this place hold. The tears that she had shed for years.
"I'm going to miss you," she whispers while skimming her fingers to the soft pink sheets.
This bedroom withholds all the painful memories, but it is still comforting to some degree. It became her safe haven when Jade was having breakdowns because of a rough day. Now, this is the day where that cycle ends.
'No more tears Jade. No more.'
Finally done reminiscing Jade went downstairs with her luggage and purse. The whole family is waiting for her at the dining table. This would be the last time where all of them are complete for breakfast. She sighs and prepares herself to see them together one last time before she starts her new journey.
"You're finally here! What took you so long to wake up? I have been waiting for you," Jade's second brother Liam poutingly said with both his arms crossed over his chest.
"I'm glad you're all ready to go," Her eldest brother John smiled warmly at her.
"Yes, I apologize my alarm didn't wake me up in time," Jade said while sitting down in her usual seat next to Liam and across from John.
"Well, you better eat, you still have a long flight ahead of you. You don't want to be hungry," Her dad Huang Bolin said while sipping some tea and reading the newspaper.
"Remember what we said, okay? Call us all the time so we know how you're doing in England," Adeline said while putting some food on the table with a spatula on the other hand and wearing her favorite apron.
"Sis, remember don't let guys hit you up! If somebody tries to play some trick on you just call brother Liam here and I will be there in a heartbeat no matter how far it is. I will beat them to a pulp!" Liam said while pumping the air with his fist looking like he's about to beat someone up right at that moment.
Jade can't help but giggle at his antics "You're so silly bro. I'm a big girl now and I can take care of myself. Rest assured, I will call you straight away if something happens."
"Good! I should be able to visit you once you are settled down there and when I sorted out some projects at my company," John said seriously while eating his food.
"Hey! I want to come with you too, bro! We can't just leave our little princess for too long by herself. What if flies come and bug around her?!" Liam started pouting again.
"Are you sure you're going to have the time with all the girls around you?" John smirked.
"Yes! Nobody is more important than my little sister here," Liam said while lovingly rubbing her head.
Jade can't help but look at them longingly, she's going to miss them so bad. Especially her brothers.
Both of them are very good looking, good at sports, and academics. You name it and they would excel at everything. For some reason both of her older brothers receive their dad's genes the most. With the shiny black hair, black eyes, tall nose, and slanted eyes that screams an idol.
And the fortunate thing is both are very loved and lusted on by so many girls at her school. Even the guys adore the two Huang brothers. People wanted to be in the boys circle, and wanted to be their friend. They are the "it boys" at school.
Whereas, Jade is the only outsider out of all the siblings. She gets ignored and bullied behind her brother's back. Don't get her wrong though, there are days where they are nice to her. And those days are when the girls want her favor to get closer to her brothers.
Those days are the worst. Jade would mostly reject and ignore them, and when these girls don't get anything from her they resort to violence. Which she has suffered every day from and not one single soul has she ever told anyone about it.
Not her parents, and especially not her older brothers.
"Sweetie, what's wrong?" Her mom asked.
Startled, she looks up and everybody is looking at her, "I-I'm fine.. I'm just realizing how I'm going to miss this and you guys," she said when her throat starts to clog up and eyes that are swelling with unshed tears.
"Jade, I know we have somehow failed you and we're very sorry. Perhaps if we didn't settle here and went to England instead this wouldn't have happened," Huang Bolin said.
Jade knows her Dad feels guilty all the time, he couldn't protect his little princess enough. He always tried his best to shelter her, make her feel happy and appreciated but some things are just not enough. She was still suffering from abuse everyday. Mentally and physically.
Her dad has a company here that he has built before he met my mom and he can't just leave the country to move to England just like that, that's why her Mom moved here and has to adjust a lot herself.
And that is why her dad can't protect her. He's always working a lot.
"Dad, It's not your fault you did everything to make me happy. And this is my decision alone to walk my own path," she smilingly said. Even though deep down she's hurting. Jade doesn't want to blame her dad for what she went through. She knows he did his best as a father.
"Oh, sweetie," Adeline hugged her while tears gathered in her eyes, "Everything is going to be fine. Wherever it is that you want to walk your path just remember that we are always here to support you," her mom said.
Jade can't help but hug her mom back with tears falling from her eyes. And then she felt four more hands around her and she knew immediately that it was her brothers. While her dad is watching them on his seat with warmth in his eyes.
She closed her eyes and savored the feeling of them around her and at the same time feeling excited for the new beginning that's coming.
