Chapter 44- The Real War Begins

(PoV. 3rd Person)

"Zagreus! Drago Bludvist has arrived!" Said Dagur in a slightly frightened and anxious tone, Zagreus, seeing this soon responds in a hurry.

"Order all boats back to the Kingdom, and take the people to the dungeons below the Castle!" Zagreus speaks quickly in a commanding tone, Dagur calms down a bit upon hearing Zagreus and nods before going to complete the order he received.

Zagreus puts on his armor in an instant with the help of the system, and takes his Warhammer out of his inventory and puts it on his back.

And as soon as he is ready, the demigod jumps out of the open window of his room and walks through the air towards the walls surrounding the kingdom. Running as fast as possible, Zagreus quickly arrives on the scene.

He lands and sees his companions already gathered, minus Dagur, Snotlout and Tuffnut, who was making sure the people were safe.

Most of the elite Soldiers were on the walls, the King was also here in his Steel-Geada armor, but the Queen and Elsa were nowhere to be seen.

Astrid was wearing her full blue scale armor, her trusty double-edged axe on her back.

Heather was wearing her silver scale armor, two daggers rested at home on the side of her waist.

Tigress wore some protection here and there, like knee pads and and pieces of armor protecting her forearms.

Zagreus was in his (standard) black armor, and each armor of the Dragon Knights were enchanted with various categories of strength and increases in hardness and self-repair, increasing countless folds to defense.

The demigod notices two people missing from his group and immediately asks.

"Where are Hiccup and Ruffunut? Have you seen them?"

"No, I believe they are with Dagur, helping people!" Heather quickly replies.

The King walks over to Zagreus and begins to speak.

"The expected day has arrived, I just hope YOUR plan works!" Said the King, with an empty expression, but in his tone, there was fear and anxiety.

It seems that the King had no balls like he made it sound.

'Hunf, it's MY plan now. I'll take the words of an old and ignorant man at face value, but, he better pay attention from here to us, maybe his wife wants a different kind of attention.' Zagreus thinks, but soon disperses this thought influenced by his lower head, and then says.

'Your Majesty, OUR plan has been reviewed and approved by several influential people and especially by you. I ask you to be calm and trust more in your own decision!" Zagreus finishes saying and his women agree, even the General and some soldiers were agreeing with Zagreus and annoyed with the King's fearful attitude.

After all, who would fight the Dragons? The King or the soldiers? And here is the King afraid to stand still and be safe.

The demigod then ignores the situation, and finally looks out to sea, and what was once a calm place full of fishermen.

Now it was filled with boats being pulled by Sea Dragons, the boats were loaded with catapults ready to be launched.

And in the sky, with a little more than a hundred Dragons.

All the soldiers were in awe at such a sight, for a Kingdom that had little contact with Dragons, it was truly frightening to see so many at once.

It was an impressive sight to see, but it wasn't the biggest one Zagreus had seen if we were to compare it to the battle against the Dragon Queen.

'Wait?!? The Dragons were being bullied into obeying the Queen back then, for dragons of such different races to be together. Could it be that the same thing is happening here?'

After a few uses of 'Wise's Eye', Zagreus realizes that the Dragons are being mentally controlled, he turns to his women and says.

"It looks like the Dragons are being controlled, apparently Drago has found a way to do this!"

"Similar to what happened to the Dragon Queen?" Astrid asks.

"I would say yes, but it seems that this time the control is stronger, literally mind control!" Zagreus quickly says, and looking to the sky for any sign of Drago, he finally spots him, in a large, black Thunderdrum.

Before Zagreus can say anything, he hears the voice of his current enemy, even at such a distance, his voice was heard, as if he was on each of their sides. As if it were magic.

"As promised, I Drago Bludvist, am here." A silence perpetuated the kingdom as each person there heard the voice.

"And I, a man of the people, am dedicated to ridding humanity of the tyranny of the Dragons. I am the chosen one who can control them, and only I can truly protect them!" And again, a silence reigned among the people, people's reaction was divided.

Between believing Drago's speech, those who know a little of the man's history never believed a single word he said.

"But, I can only do that...if you will bow down! If your King will leave his arrogance aside and bow his head and obey the Dragon God!" Drago says arrogantly, his expression was one of pure pride.

Zagreus looks at the King, and is surprised to see him with a determined expression, it seems that even men like him can be brave when their pride is touched like that.

The Demigod hands a Talisman to the King, and explains how it works, the King then activates it and the paper begins to glow and forms a golden Microphone, the King brings his mouth close and says.

"We will never bow down to someone like you! This Kingdom was my father's and his father's father's, I will not shame my ancestors any more, no more than I already have!" The King, Agnarr Àrnadalr, said proudly and after taking a deep breath, he continues.

"We will fight until our last breath, for to die protecting our home and family is an honor. We will not fall without a fight!" And at the end of his words, everyone in the Kingdom shouts in a chorus of renewed courage and determination. (A/N: I'm horrible with speeches, so this one must have turned out bad, but that's what you have for today 🤷🏾‍♂️)

But their joy is interrupted by a low, dark laugh. Drago laughs for a few more seconds before he begins to say.

"I see that you are stupid and have chosen death! Let's see how you do without my protection." And at the end of his words, all the Dragons start attacking and the boats start shooting at the wall to bring it down.

Everyone in the Dragon Knight Group was used to fighting numerous Dragons, but they still had some difficulties when fighting them since the Dragons wore metal armor.

(PoV. Dagur)

As soon as I left Zagreus' room, I called Snotlout and Tuffnut to come with me, I couldn't find Hiccup or Ruffunut, but I suppose they are with Zagreus' harem.

*Sigh*, I still can't believe that Heather is part of a harem. I was very angry at first, but trust my sister's decision and after getting to know Zagreus more closely, I realized that he was the right guy for my sister.

But, coming back. My two friends and I are leading the people to the dungeons of the castle, the most protected place here.

Anna was with me, helping me to guide the people who follow her words easily, it seems that she had a gift for passive leading.

And she looked so beautiful, her red hair caught in braids and those blue eyes like jewels, she was like a goddess who came down to grace the earth.

I am not an idiot and I know that I am in love with her, even if it is the first time for me, but ever since I laid eyes on her, I fell in love.

In this past month we have had several dates and I even managed to kiss her lips once, but she said she wants to take it slow so I am respecting her time.

I don't want anyone but her, I can't think of anyone but her.

I will ask her to be my girlfriend after this battle, but first I need to make sure that these people are safe before this war breaks out.

When everyone enters the dungeon, Anna stays behind and hugs me before I ask her anything, she then immediately loosens her embrace and kisses me.

A pure kiss full of the affection, her cold, soft lips on mine makes my heart warm.

"Don't die, Dagur. Come back to me!" She says as soon as she stops kissing me and after speaking, she runs to where her sister and the General's daughter is.

Snotlout and I closed the gate and were flying towards the wall, the two idiots are looking at me while asking about my relationship with Anna.

And I, Dagur Haroldson, am a man who can keep a secret. And you can never, ever talk about what you do with your girlfriend to another guy.

But my thoughts are interrupted by a voice that introduced itself as Drago Bludvist.

*Ugh*, this guy is crazy. I better hurry up.

(PoV. Zagreus)

Drago was calm, too calm for my taste. He was losing more and more Dragons to the ballistas that Hiccup set up for the soldiers to use.(That first weapon Hiccup used to take out the Toothless.)

Well, what to say, it's easier to defend than to attack. And we have the advantage in this situation. But I have a bad feeling about such calmness in the face of imminent defeat.

And what is making Drago's life difficult is me, since none of the cannon shots and catapults due to my Electromagnetic control.

Unfortunately I cannot use the metals that surrounded the Dragons, it seems that the metals were diamagnetic.

And that's what I didn't understand, why didn't he make bullets from the same metal? That was strange, if it was just a coincidence, then some armor would be of different metals and not completely the same.

And suddenly a bizarre annoying buzzing sound, like a fly very close to my ear, sounded in my head, but I just shook my head a little and it soon disappeared.

At the same time, all the dragons that were attacking begin to retreat and the ships stop firing.

I look at the girls and they are as confused as I am, and just behind me, a landing sound is heard.

Dagur had finally arrived, with Snotlout and Tuffnut. But... I don't see Hiccup and Ruffunut with them.

"Hi, Zagreus! Am I in time for the party? And... where's Hiccup?" Dagur asks.

"I'm the one who should ask! Isn't Hiccup with you?" I ask back anxiously, Hiccup was his friend, like his brother.

'Where the hell is he?!'

"Did you miss me?" A familiar voice, Hiccup, says as he flies over his ChangeWing and right behind him, was Ruffunut hugging his waist and laughing.

I look up into this guy's pouty face, and say.

"Where were you, Hiccup? We agreed not to leave the Kingdom!" I tell him, Hiccup had left several times during this month and we had talked about it, and now on the day of the attack he had left.

But instead of regretting it, he smiles with pride, and I swear, if he doesn't give a good enough reason, I will break the teeth in his mouth.

"Everything has a reason my dear brother, and I brought reinforcement..." And just as Hiccup finishes speaking, a dragon lands beside him with a masked figure mounted.

A dragon I already know, a Stormcutter. And the figure starts to take off the mask, revealing the face of a woman who looks like she's about 30, and before Hiccup even says anything, I've already found out about being his mother through Wise's Eye. (I'm not going to open a Status screen for Hiccup's mother, I swear to you, there's nothing interesting about it.)

"...This is my mother, Valka!" Hiccup says and everyone is shocked, except me of course.

"But, but, but, I thought she was dead?" Astrid asks, is everyone nods in agreement, except me, again.

"It's a long story, which I will be happy to tell. But now we need to defeat Drago!" Valka says with conviction.

And again, Drago's voice sounds in everyone's ears again, but now, more serious and grave than before.

"Finally, the Alpha is here!" And on the right side, as if from behind the Kingdom, a huge White Dragon emerges from the water and roared in a manner similar to the roar I heard earlier.

But this time, the roar had something extra, an authority and dominance that the other one lacked, and even I felt an urge to kneel down, but I resisted easily.

But soon, a grayish and completely stained red and black Dragon, as if dirty, emerges from the sea.

And even though I know Drago is not a simple person, but... to have an Alpha Dragon? Since when is an Alpha ordinary? I saw one today and another one has already appeared!

But anyway, it seems Drago has been waiting for this moment, so the real battle begins now.
