Chapter 6

“We’re almost reaching Edible Flowers, sir.”

George’s voice startled Ivan out of his reverie. “Thank you, George. I may be there for about thirty to forty-five minutes. Please wait for me.”

“Absolutely, sir. I’m at your disposal for the entire day.”

“Oh, you don’t have to drive Darren anywhere for lunch?”

Ivan noticed George’s smile on the rearview mirror. He returned the gesture immediately. Then George shook his head.

“It’s only two minutes past ten o’clock, sir. Besides, Mr. Larson has several other chauffeurs on standby.”

Ivan nodded. “That’s true. You’re his favorite and most trusted one, though.”

George chuckled. “Thank you, sir. That’s really nice to hear. I’ve been working for the Larsons for almost twenty-one years now. When I started working for the family, young Mr. Larson was only ten years old.”

“He must be quite a handful back then.”

George chortled loudly. “He was indeed, but he was a kind-hearted child, and he has grown into a good man.”
