we want to be friends

when she was finally willing to speak it was like an angel talking from the heavens."please dont hurt me" devika said in a scared and terrified voice. now my dad was next to me and thats when i noticed the bruises all over her and my heart broken for her at that moment. i swore to myself i will always protect her,unknowingly that she was well protected if plants are near. but if there were none i would be the second in line of defense as a big brother it was my sworn duty to protect her anyway.

when i am just stuck in my thoughts my dad spoke up"sweetie we wont hurt you we want to open our home to you and you can live as one of my children." as he points to me then he says" this is my son...jax".well now you know my name,she just started to stare at me and i am not gonna lie i felt like i was being judged on everything. my looks,my clothes,my hair,my eyes and i mean everything i was starting to feel self conscious about it she was staring for a long time and i started to question everything including the 'was i dirty?' should i have showered before coming here? what felt like hours was just a few minutes and then she looked away and i let out the breath i didnt know i was holding.she immediately looked at my dad and said"devika" he smiled and replied" is that your name sweetie?"

she looks at me and then at my dad and says" yes thats my name" when she is talking to my dad i get a better look at her and thats when i notice she wasnt covered in plants she was the plants it was like she was one with the plants and i started to wonder if she had legs.while i was questioning if she had legs my mom walks up "devika honey you will be safe with us.we want to know everything about you and we wont judge or make fun of you we just want to be friends with you.let me introduce myself i am jaxs mother,we wont let anyone do anything bad to you". she then look at at each of us studying us like we were a faboulous painting or something. she was trying to find out if we were lying or something,i could see a bunch of emotions flash in her eyes but i couldnt tell what they were all i know is i saw them.
