CHAPTER SIXTEEN:ONE WISH!

Avianna knew tonight was going to be a disastrous one seeing how all the reporters were eagerly waiting for her arrival. As always Gustavo has leaked the news that she was going to be escorted by the country's favorite idol Jason to the party.

So everywhere was crowded with crazy reporters and photographers she wanted to avoid so much, she wasn't surprised by Gustavo's actions anymore because he was such a betrayer and an attention freak.

Avianna admits that she loves to be the center of attention but Gustavo is way too much.

Even with her mask on, Avianna was still recognized immediately as she stepped out of the car to the red carpet with the fake smile she had forced herself to portrait. Almost forgetting that she was here with Jason as her escort, when a hand suddenly wrapped around her waist, drawing her more closer to him which startled her, but she couldn't do anything about it, they were in public after all.

So she had to act and look good, social media likes it when celebs act like they are perfect.

Only two steps away from the spot their car stopped, the paparazzi had already started rushing to their direction with their loads of cameras blinding their sights with pictures and also reporters attacking them with questions, that Avianna could not even understand any of them as they were all throwing so many different questions at the same time.

At this point, Avianna was thankful to the securities that were provided by the agency to stop these bunch of stupid reporters who would step on them just to get a good view.

"Are you two back together?" She heard but didn't know which of the reporters exactly asked the question and she didn't bother to ask. Both the question and the reporter are insane.

"Back my ass" She criticized in her mind.

"Should we expect an engagement soon?" She heard another question.

"What! Jesus!! That is never happening!" Avianna criticized in her mind again glaring at the reporter who asked that stupid question. Avianna suddenly felt the urge to gouge her eyes out too.

"What was the cause of the previous separation?"

"Oh, you bunch of fools learn to mind your business" She mumbled under her breath but faking a huge smile that would make one blush on sighting her.

"Is Jason back in the country to stay?"

"Why don't you ask him directly, sweetheart? Why ask me?" She stopped, staring at the short female reporter with bulging eyes and huge glasses that made her look all nerdy, who asked the one question that captured her attention.

The reporter was wowed by a celeb like Avianna stopping and asking her a question which made her lose herself at the moment and just kept staring with her mouth agape, till Avianna left her. The other reporters saw what the lady did was as stupid, like who the hell f**ks up when Avianna Queens stops right in front of them? And even calls them a sweetheart?.

She should have even asked for an autograph but the lady was too stupid to do that. They believe it was her bulging eyes that made her behave like stupid.

"Did Jason Cauley truly sign a new contract with M.S.G entertainment, did he quit his work overseas?"

Avianna resisted answering nor listening to most of the questions being thrown at her. It all annoyed her the most when no one cared to ask Jason a sh*t. It was as if he was even invisible here.

Many questions kept on coming and Avianna didn't say a word out, Jason who the questions were most about didn't bother to help her out. He was too busy smiling and posing for the cameras.

Avianna tried talking to him but stopped herself from doing so, this wasn't the right time to do it when cameras were flashing on her face. The reporters might try to make something up, thinking she was forced to attend her own welcome back party with Jason after they had broken up.

Wait what!! She never knew how possible it was for Jason to sign a contract with her agency and Stacy didn't care to inform her about that. Or maybe it was just one of the reporter's assumptions, she knew how desperate reporters can be just to get any information to publish.

Avianna intended to ignore all of their questions and turn a deaf ear to them when Jason suddenly tightened his grip around her waist and stopped walking halfway to the entrance, which sort of got her altered as she calmly tried to force herself away from him but she found it hard to do so.

Not in front of hundreds of people watching will she force herself away from Jason's arms, they might start suspecting something's fishy.

Avianna's heartbeat started throbbing against her chest, confused as she tried to figure out why Jason stopped walking. Hope he wasn't trying to do something stupid that would jeopardize both their careers?.

Jason was more than capable and crazy to actually do that.

"What the fuck is wrong with you Jason, let go, you are hurting me" Avianna said through gritted teeth while still faking a smile and waving at the cameras that were flashing thousands of lights at her in order not to create a scene that will shade her image.

"You are rushing baby girl, slow down so they can get a perfect picture of us" Jason said with ease and effortlessly smiling at the camera.

Avianna wasn't so surprised at how Jason could keep such a calm expression. Wow!He was super talented in acting and probably should quit wasting his time with modeling.

"Crazy bastard"Avianna cursed under her breath.

"I heard that" Jason retorted and they continued walking.

"Not like I care" Avianna growled, she was not ready for Jason's cheeky acts, not at her own welcome back party. Jason should just act his age for once!.

Enzo had the feeling that Avianna's entrance was going to be a long grand awaiting one, so he had asked Cain to pull over at a spot where he could get a good view of what was happening and it was quite interesting.

How will anyone not notice that Avianna was feeling so uneasy with Jason?Though he couldn't pinpoint what the problem was, he could see it through the fake smiles Avianna was wearing on her face all the while that she wasn't feeling as comfortable as people thought.

Unlike the fans and reporters, always seeing what they want to and not beyond what was truly happening, Enzo thought to himself and hissed. Celebrity's life can be quite good, beautiful and wonderful but there is more to it. Like the fake smiles they had to put on their face even when they are sad.

After Avianna's entrance followed by other celebrities and VIPs that were also invited to the party, it was quite a tempting show to watch that one wouldn't like to miss.

Enzo wasn't a type to come show off or even showcase in this kind of event if not that the company had made it a mandatory that every one of their shareholders must attend the party. He won't even be here, he had thought of paying someone to come on his behalf, but then again he didn't see any harm in coming by himself to look at Avianna's miserable face.

Moreover, no one really knows him in person so he had nothing to lose and he intended to keep it that way.

Enzo saw that the crowd was no longer much and the attention of the reporters and fans were now directed to Avianna and Jason, he found it as a good opportunity to quietly go inside without the disturbance of these annoying reporters and photographers, after all that was what reporter Kim was paid to do today.

Enzo stepped out of the car and Cain did the same immediately, while he got the car door opened for his Boss's mysterious girlfriend.

They walked inside as fast as they could to avoid unnecessary attention drawn to them with their masks on. That was the only thing Enzo liked about this party, the fact that he could go straight to where Avianna was standing right now with some crowds and stab the life out of her with no one getting to see his face.

Classical slow music helped make the hall lively with people and their different masks getting acquainted and introducing themselves to each other. Enzo didn't even know where to start because he has never attended any party before, both work related and otherwise.

Cain had to come closer to him to whisper names and identities of the faces of all the board members of the company and other important VIPs that he was supposed to meet and make his presence known to.

Enzo was acting busy, forcing himself to engage in one or two conversations with people he did not even care to know. Thank God for the masks they could not see his facial expressions, his escort had excused herself to go get a drink because she was feeling so bored that he wouldn't blame her for.

He was Mr boring.

Enzo was really looking for an opportunity to engage in a conversation with Avianna Queen, but she was too busy exchanging pleasantries with different people at the same time. What did he expect?. She's the nation's beauty and everyone would like to have a word or two with her.

Enzo wondered how people would cope with these meaningless parties, at this point he had to raise Cain's salary; he was such a life saver.

Cain came to him not too long after he left with an unknown man he introduced as the chief executive of MSG entertainment along with their top star, Avianna, who never stopped smiling.

Enzo felt his throat drying up immediately he sighted Avianna, like he was suffocating he couldn't take his raging eyes off her. He felt like he was going to explode out of anger until a voice from behind distracted him.

"Hi Avianna,"Christie greeted with a smirk on her lips.

Avianna froze, feeling like time stopped.

She forcefully turned to make sure her eyes were not deceiving her but lo and behold, it was really Christie.

Avianna did not know what exactly was happening right now but if only she could be granted one wish, then that would be to disappear from here. To disappear from her own welcome back party.
