It was a somber procession down to the ruins.

Rhea was walking with Arras, when he suddenly turned from the path and headed to the crooked tree. Taigh was close behind.

Rhea suddenly stopped a few steps away from the brothers as they came to a standstill in front of their parents, and sister’s graves. Faelen trotted up to the brothers from his adventures in the forest and sat contentedly at their feet.

After a moment of silence, Arras spoke. He spoke in a dialect Rhea didn’t recognize, but Andrew came up behind her and translated in a whisper.

“I promise to live the life you wanted me to have,” Arras said thickly, his voice low and raspy. “I will live on with the memories of your love until I join you again. In the name of eternity, I will hold the love, values and lessons you passed on to me in the deepest part of my heart.”

Taigh placed his hand on his brother’s shoulder, “We both will, Arras.”
