Chapter 221: Arifureta (1)

~Mash B. POV~

[Worldline: Arifureta]

[Japan, Japanese Classroom]

*Shiii*

Deciding to take care of this new world speed run solo I told Ryuko I'd go alone for this one much to her dismay. But once I told her of the traps and everything, she relented giving me a small kiss before I departed.

Exiting outside of my rainbow-colored kaleidoscope my sudden appearance silenced the bustling class capturing everyone's undivided attention. Ignoring the curious gazes, I looked closer at my surroundings to see if everything was in order according to my [TOOS].

Everything seemed ordinary, strangely devoid of any hint of mana as I had worn my REVOCS bracelet in advance not Mana Poisoning the students in the general area. The people around me were somewhat familiar faces, and I recognized the typical school life theme in Japanese literature.

My gaze settled on the figure petite, green-eyed, short-haired teacher. I knew her from somewhere or at least her appearance seemed familiar, but I couldn't place it as I asked curiously, "This might sound strange, but where am I? This is Earth, right? Did I come at a bad time?"

The teacher stared at me with a bewildered expression, her mouth opening and closing as if trying to respond. But the screaming of the students alarmed everyone as I did a quick mental scan on them using [Telepathy] letting the chaos go on.

Unfortunately, aside from some peculiar interests and future childhood traumas, the information I gathered was mostly useless. Well, almost, as their names did spark my memory lightly grinning getting the right worldline.

Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's is a Japanese light novel series written by Ryo Shirakome and illustrated by Takayaki. Originally a web novel, the series was published in print from June 2015 to September 2022.

The series follows Hajime Nagumo, a bullied high school student who is transported to another world with the rest of his class and his schoolteacher to fight in a war against the demon race.

After he is betrayed and left to die by one of his classmates, Hajime begins a journey to improve himself and find a way for everyone to return home. Classic Isekaied Anime Troupe to me.

With everyone leaving a giant magic circle appeared underneath me as I coldly smirked pushing everyone out of the way. Except for the bullies they got broken bones and busted family jewels.

A mischievous grin crept across my face as I recalled their purpose of the summon chuckling ruining a God's plan, "Hahaha… Well, you guys won't be embarking on an adventure pleasing a sadistic God. You can thank me later. Authority of Envy, [Jealous Possession]."

*Shiii*

The magic circle flashed brightly as I wrestled for control as I launched my Authority taking direct control immediately glowing an ominous purple hue. The spell-formed reconfigured itself, condensing into a small plate-sized circle, ideal for transporting a single entity. With a casual wave of my hand, I bid farewell to the stunned students and their teacher, vanishing from their midst.

*Shiii*

This method of dimensional travel was far from gentle, and I had to cocoon myself in a solid darkness blanket using my [Power of Darkness] to protect my soul from slight damage. However, this spell had its own set of merits.

Summoning magic was something I'm highly familiar with thanks to Solomon's knowledge of [Summoning]. While the cost was steep, this specific spell consumed only a fraction of what Solomon could do, relying on the life force of approximately 100 individuals as its fuel source.

I could even feel a sense of something trying to enter my mind. But thankfully it didn't last no more than a moment as my Gamer Ring kicked in alt delete that fucker making any attempts.

Still, this Magic Circle has some uses. It was merely a matter of time before I could reshape it into something more practical, such as an enchantment or even a personal dimensional travel spell that would cost me next to nothing.

Examining the process being made I noticed this spell using a string of mana to connect a dimensional anchor at the Caster's location to a temporary anchor created at the target destination.

It then encased the traveler in a cocoon of mana and propelled them along the mana string. Although this spell lacked any defensive measures, save for the temporal stasis that didn't affect me, anything within the void between dimensions had the potential to pose a threat, either by preying on the travelers or by severing the mana string leaving the traveler lost in the void forever.

This spell needs some further examination and experimentation. But it didn't matter as I would soon arrive at my destination. And came in the skill with a grin across my face as my gamer abilities accepted it.

[You have been given the blessed skill [Transmute] the basis of the [Synergist Class]!]

[Tortus, Heiligh Kingdom]

*Shiii*

I mumbled aloud ignoring the crowd that had gathered around me as I found myself inside a sparsely lit room, "Hmm… so this is what it's like to be isekaied huh? Not gonna lie I don't like the feeling."

Arriving what seems to be an alter shout came from an old man in ceremonial robes raising his hands in the air just like he doesn't care in a grand tone, "O Chosen Heroes, welcome to Tortus! I have been waiting for all of your arrival – "

His voice cracked and confusion creased his face as he scanned the surroundings, searching for the other heroes he had mentioned, but he only found me as I waved innocently, "Hello there!"

He looked around till he finally asked me to turn to the bishop next to him, "Where are the rest? And why is one here only?"

That was when I interjected acting confused using [Faker] raising an eyebrow at the situation in front of me, "Hey! Can you explain to me why have I been summoned to this world?"

[Ishtar Langbard Lv.25 Pope]

Yup. The old fart in question is Ishtar Langbard being controlled by a demon or should I say the apostle called Noint, while also holding the position of the pope in the world's most prominent religion which defied Ehit.

As far as I knew, Ehit was a relatively weaker god who enjoyed playing games with his followers. However, this same god had long lost his physical form and existed solely as a soul and couldn't wait to get a body from the summoning should they prove strong and pass the dungeons.

Sadly, for them, I'm slaughtering and keeping that ancient magic for myself. Releasing my Mana showing I mean business with a neutral making them feel the pressure in a stoic tone eye narrowing, "So, old man why did you summon me to your world? Is there a war brewing? Is there a demon lord on the loose, or do you need me to kill a god? I've done it all and more before. Although do speak the truth, I can tell if you're lying."

*BOOOOM*

Making them feel what my Mana is capable of as a show of force would show I'm not one to be easily swayed or coerced. I added while relishing the worried expressions that appeared on their faces as they realized they might not be able to manipulate me in the same way they wanted to do with the children.

For children who know nothing and can't defend against mental magic is easy. But against someone who has claimed as many words as I have before? That's an entirely different risk they brought themselves to figure out.

Listening intently, I even heard the bishop muttered his eye fixated on my majestic visage in a cautious tone whispering, "Did we summon the Devil?"

I laughed at his assumption as I spoke with an innocent expression, but the malicious tone startled him greatly, "Oh, you summoned something much worse. That I can guarantee. But moving on Ishtar, correct?"

Changing topics I smiled as I startled the pope knowing his hand as I casually strolled up to the pope and dismissed the guards who attempted to stand in my way be teleported away using my [Delete Space] in an eerie calm tone, "Care to explain why you attempted to summon defenseless children to your world? Depending on your answer might increase your life expectancy…"

Immediately understanding he replied with a gulp giving pause as he suspiciously eyed me in a cautious tone, "We didn't. Our lord and savior, Ehit, graced us with an oracle saying that he would be sending heroes to save our world. Although he didn't say what kind of heroes…"

I retorted cocking my head with a raised eyebrow, amused by this fool delusion with a snarky tone, "He didn't send me if that's what you're thinking. I'm pretty sure I came here on my own volition."

But he soon dismissed the idea shaking his head as he showed his devout faith in a determined tone, "You might think that, but the lord works in mysterious ways."

I simply sighed looking at this religious fool. No different than those damned Witch Cultist Sin Archbishops. Not. A. Damned. Difference.

No matter what I spoke changing topics sighing as I had many important issues to deal with soon enough in a calm tone, "Sigh… sure let's go with that. Let's go see this king of yours then."

He straightened up and waved at one of the remaining guards, who was shakily holding his spear with a fearful expression speaking a bit apprehensively, "We are currently in the Cathedral of the Holy Church. An audience with the King might not be possible right away. Mikey, take our esteemed guest to our best room and make sure he is comfortable while I make arrangements and request an audience with the king."

Ignoring the guard taking me to my room I have enough to work on the state of things delving into Ishtar's mind the moment I arrived in this world using [Telepathy] and our conversation had been more than unnecessary.

He cared little for the lives I had moved thinking they were already dead solely focusing on my power. He was a schemer and xenophobic, and upon witnessing my powers, he had been planning to manipulate me into eliminating both the Demons and the Beastmen.

Little did he know the truth about his 'Lord and Savior.' Ehit was the mastermind behind the rising tensions between Humans and Demons. He had instigated it simply to alleviate his boredom.

Ehit was neither magnificent nor benevolent, nor all-powerful, a fact that became evident when the series' white-haired, gun-wielding harem protagonist clashed with him and ultimately ended his reign in an epic battle.

Soon we arrived at our location Mikey spoke in a nervous tone and announced getting me out of my thoughts, "Your accommodations sir."

He opened the door to reveal an opulent room that could easily have been worthy of a king. Everything here was good enough as I muttered with a satisfied nod waving off to poor Mikey, "It's adequate. You can go now, guard."

Closing the door the guard was gone as I began to check my new skill. Skill List.

----

Lying on the back of my bed I raised my hand to air holding a quarter in it. Using [Transmute] I began to effortlessly alter its shape.

With my Magecraft understanding of Alchemy, it was easy to change its shape. This skill is like using the Fate Series Alchemy but with key differences. Using it, I could shape the floating ingot before me with a single thought without the need for any calculations or knowledge of its composition.

The skill simply forced the shape of matter to be altered the way I wanted it to. It was quite a powerful crafting skill as it was, but it did have a slight shortcoming that it couldn't affect biological matter.

I merely smirked thinking of ways to evolve this skill of mine. And I know a few worlds that would get me a [Fusion] skill but for now, I left it as is practicing. I hope the 7 ancient magic, along with Concept Magic would be worth it in the end.

As far as I remembered, the nearest of the seven labyrinths, the so-called Divine Mountain was just beneath me. It had some steep entry requirements, but I knew what to do thanks to my [TOOS] giving me the future.

And how do I cheat my way it is simple. Authority of Melancholy, [Delete Space]. But I don't want to alert the God by his followers as I must play the act of the fool to the very end much to my bitter frustration.
