Chapter 196: RWBY (2)
~Ruby R. POV~
[Patch, Cliffside Forest]
I was confused by their actions. Well not that much but there weren't any reports that this place was infested with strong Grimm, so it didn't make sense for him to be here. Plus, they seemed weirdly unequipped.
They just had a basic sword and that energy Semblance of hers. They didn't seem like an official Hunters pair to me, I backed away slowly, remembering Yang's words about not hanging around weirdos.
My home was close by anyway. No need to –
*CRUNCH*
Darn it!
Soon their heads whipped to where I was as they raised their weapons. Alarmed I quickly raised my voice seemingly stopping the two in their tracks, "W-wait! I'm a human! A human!"
Immediately I got out of the bushes and flailed my arms around in panic. They widened their eyes slowly lowering their weapons. I sighed a breath of relief. That was a close one there.
But soon after regaining my composure, I asked in a curious tone, "What are you doing here?"
The man took a step with his arms crossed and spoke in an obvious tone, "Killing Grimm. What are you doing here?"
I flinched slightly as he stepped forward analyzing me but I replied in an honest tone, "I-I was hearing Beowolves and I thought someone was being attacked."
The girl soon frowned crossing her arms as she spoke in a stoic tone, "I see. Didn't have to be stalking us, though."
I lowered my head apologizing in front of their judging eyes as I spoke in a guilty tone, "I-I didn't mean to. I'm sorry."
Hearing a sigh from the man he soon spoke in a casual tone being chill waving it off with a shrug of his shoulders, "It's fine, we're just messing with you. We've been simply getting rid of Grimm too close to the edge of the forest. Pretty annoying but it works up a sweat at midnight, to make it more challenging."
To make it more… challenging? I could kinda understand what he meant…
Maybe. But still very dangerous. However, he soon started to speak in a calm tone getting the other girl's attention, "Welp seeing the night's done we'll be heading out. Nice meeting you little girl and have a safe trip home. Come on Gear Eyes let's get moving."
She rolled her eyes but followed as they left. I sighed a breath of relief seeing they weren't hostile, but I should tell my sister and dad of this.
Oh… wait I just realized he never told me his name. Or hers … ah well. I doubt we'll meet again after this so better return home for my mid-night cookies! And with Milk!

~Mash B. POV~
[Patch, Cliffside Forest]
Ruby looked a bit conflicted and nervous around us. But then again this has been quite the trip here.
Ryuko soon jabbed my shoulder asking in a curious tone with a raised eyebrow, "So… care to explain why you lied to her?"
I explained myself in a calm tone as I took the time to read through her memory using my Authority of Gluttony, [Gluttony] using my [Unseen Hands], "I stalled a bit of time to share her memories of her world to understand our predicament. I learned a few things we need to be aware of and what not to do. Besides that I doubt she'll believe we're from outside her world and who wouldn't?"
Ryuko opened her mouth to argue but chose to think a bit more before ultimately agreeing with my lie in a calm tone, "Oh… okay I get your point. Still new to the multiverse travel spiel but you have been doing this longer than me a rookie. Next course of action?"
Crossing her arms I smirked speaking in a confident tone getting her attention, "How about we take a ship to Vale?"
She blinked her eyes curious as she asked in a confused tone gesturing to the currency of this world, "A ship ride huh? But wait what about paying for a ticket there?"
I only smirked much to Gear Eyes widening at my plan in an obvious tone, "Easy. We're gonna be stowaways."
She just sighed at my antics but was interested in seeing what this world was like taking the scenic route of traveling this world. There are certainly a few things I would like to learn but a little traveling didn't hurt anyone.

[Vale Kingdom, Vale City]
I mutter quietly as we discreetly get out of the ship in an amazed tone, "So this is Vale, huh? Looks amazing!"
Ryuko standing by my side also spoke in an amazed tone eyes glittering with excitement, "I – I can't believe how advanced and amazing this place is. Way better than Honno City that's for sure. It looks very beautiful."
I smiled at her reaction being in the first world line outside her own. I was the same when I saw the Kingdom of Lugnica but this place takes the cake with the advanced buildings and holograms inside Vale City.
Since I didn't have anything to connect BB, yet I asked around the citizens on the ship for ID needed. You need identification to get on anything here, which I didn't know until the last few hours ago.
When I first asked them about the fee, they didn't mention it so I assume that you don't need any. But to be on the safe side we stayed inside the ship rooms enjoying the sailing ship with ease.
I should probably go to Junior about the whole faking ID/Permit shtick… but I doubt I have time for that matter if he snitches me out. Or I could get one of their Scrolls to easily make an ID for me and Ryuko.
And the first stop is outside the city that we just arrived in through the south gate. When we got on land though a worker spotted us yelling in an angry tone with our faces already covered, "You! Stop right there! Stop, stowaways!"
Ryuko snickered as I scowled at us being labeled in a confident tone and asked me, "Ha! What's the plan dumbass? Fight or run?"
Taking a quick gaze at the people I noticed a few are Hunters viewing them with my [TOOS] in mild surprise of their levels. But granted they lived in a kill-or-be-killed world always at the losing end I guess higher levels are expected in this world. I mean they live in a world where dark constructs try to eat them or kill them.
[Hunter Lv.60 Huntsman]
[Hunter Lv.64 Huntress]
Ryuko soon followed my movement as we ran using [Telepathy] to make this a training lesson for her about choosing to fight or run in these situations. I looked behind me and spotted a few Hunters following us – no catching up to us.
I grinned in excitement as we turned left into a crowd and seeing them scowl made my grin wider. But soon one of them transformed their weapon into what seemed to be a baseball readying a swing once we left the crowded area.
*SWOOOSH*
We both ducked under the Huntsman's swing after we left the crowded market, making an arc of energy made of aura. We managed to dodge it hiding our faces. But he yells and the Huntress swings her axe causing a shockwave to the ground and traveling in our direction destroying the ground in the process.
We jumped up to avoid the attack as it seemed fun to fight them. But frankly, I had other things to do as I flared my [Bloodlust] skill directed at them making them freeze in place having a smirk on my face as we landed at the gate.
As short as that was, it was fun. And very empowering. But soon Ryuko grabbed me in an alleyway alerting me in a serious tone, "Oi! Dumbass don't daydream when we have that issue in front of us!"
Returning my attention to the danger ahead I froze lightly seeing how prepared this world is as I mutter out loud, "That was fast… so many of them too. Also, why the hell did they send groups of Huntsmen to catch a pair of stowaways of all things?"
I blinked seeing police officers and Hunters guarding the south gate. But beyond that, I saw our exit as I pulled out my Gamer Ring in a nonchalant tone, "Welp! I'm not in the mood to beat up the legal force so… wanna jump the border Gear Eyes?"
She rolled her eyes as she shoved me inside the portal in an annoyed tone, "Really? Let's get going you dolt."
/////
Exiting outside of the portal from the other end we exited out of I smirked seeing how our escape went in a proud tone, "Well… at the very least we managed to get out of that in one piece. How's the taste of being outside your Worldline Gear Eyes."
Ryuko came out as the portal closed hearing my question. She expresses an excited grin speaking in an honest tone, "It was damn exciting that's what! Despite the downs, I can't really deny how thrilling that was it just makes me wonder what's more this place has in store if that's the defense."
I chuckled lightly knowing what she meant. But I suppose with how the plot of the story is going I'm in the trailers section for RWBY. Hmm… I suppose I can owe Ozzy Boy a lending hand in destroying Cinder's plans.
That and having some assistance and my eyes on him would do me some good. She looked at my expression as she raised an eyebrow asking me bluntly, "I see that look in your eye, Mash? Do you have an idea or plan?"
Right, I almost forgot there is a way for Ryuko to get Magic… I doubt she'll want it this way but there's another as I spoke in a mysterious tone irking her, "Yeah… I think I have a good grasp of where we are. But I need to stop one Mastermind attempt on a Maiden's life to confirm for sure."
Ryuko's eyes narrowed by that wild grin of hers says otherwise easily accepting the challenge ahead in a reassuring tone, "Fine. Seems like you have something in mind, and it'll help me practice I'm all for it."
I grinned as we began to depart Vale City. With them looking for us I doubt will have a leisurely time examining the city in peace. Shame too and here I was hoping BB could hack into their systems.
Sadly that isn't possible unless I upload her in their isolated systems. Everyone in Remnant is connected on their scrolls but because of their CCTS (Cross Continental Transmit System), they're completely isolated from foreign kinds of communication unless I upload them in a Scroll or one of their Towers.
Such a shame but what can I do about it? For now, though I'll deal with things my way till then. Hopefully, Inumuta, Echidna, and Iori can manage to reverse-engineer some of the technology to suit their world's needs.
But first one step at a time. I'll deal with any issues as they come along and besides, I should consider this explaining to Ryuko about the dangers in worldlines and what to expect from them. It would be our little teaching and adventuring experience.
