This change came as a surprise to Xander, even though he was sure the Dark Brigadier General wasn't using its full strength.
He pegged the Dark Brigadier General as an egotistical being, from the way it spoke and treated Xander the moment it stepped out of the city, and then, the Dark Brigadier General had foolishly been trying to compete with Xander in an area that wasn't it's forth.
To Xander, intelligent beings had patterns, patterns that they would involuntarily show because it had become a habit or an instinctive reaction to certain situations.
Xander wasn't expecting the Dark Brigadier General to snap out of its anger and think properly. Still midair, Xander plunged his swords to the floor, stopping his momentum.
