Skrinir

Skrinir and her brother were in front of the abandoned building of the farthest districts in the planet. A little further away from district 15 which was always covered in snow. Skinir was a fugitive who has turned a corner, so did her brother. Abandoned at an early age, they were taken to be fugitives. And been a fugitive until recently. The building they stood now in front of was said to be housing children as prisoners, using them as sweatshop workers. How many men? asked Skrinir. I would say about 20, replied her brother. Skrinir had an arrow on her while her brother had an axe. Do they have guns? asked Skrinir. I do not even know what they are, replied her brother who was atop a building. They look like creatures that have not seen the sun, he said. Okay, she said and loaded her arrows. I draw them, and then you hunt them, she said to her brother. Skrinir shot an arrow towards the building. It did not hit anyone and certainly missed by a distance. Nonetheless the fish demons were alerted and some of them came rushing forward. They snarled and slithered their way towards Skrinir. Now brother! she shouted. Her brother came jumping from the building and hunted the fish demons. Skrinir made her way towards the camp and shot her arrows at the demos who stood in front of the building, guarding. One by one, she killed the demons. And as she loaded her arrow to hit the last of them. A demon came and punched her into the ground, smashing her head into the cold snow. Brother! she shouted calling for help. The fish demon was about to pluck her head away. Her brother threw the axe at the demon who was about to kill Skrinir. The axe came in at a fast pace and took the head of the demon. Blood splurged all around the snow, Skrinir took the axe and swung it back at the her brother. The last of the demons who was guarding came running at her and Skrinir just had enough time to shoot the arrow at the demon. She looked at her brother and...

Her Brother was surrounded by five of the demons who were about to pounce on him. Skrinir shot the arrows at the demons and her brother slayed the demons one by one. The last of the demons died latched on to her brother, with his axe firmly drawn into his heart. He ripped the demons heart out and threw it on the snow. Let us go brother, said Skrinir as they went in to the abandoned building. They saw the children put into hard labor, and a couple of demos watching over them. "One for you and one for me" said Skrinir to her brother. And before anyone realized what had happened the demos were dead. The children did not stop from their work, they continued. They were all scrawny and jaded, and looked like they had not slept for a while. Skrinir went over to them and told that they were free to go. The children did not understand her, she thought as they continued with their work. " You can all leave now" said the brother with a more positive tone. One of the children, the eldest of them all came to Skrinir. "Go where?" he asked her. To your homes, she replied. This is our home, replied back the child. This cant be your home, said Skrinir. "This is where you are forced to work" And do they even get you food? she asked. The child did not speak further and continued to work. As they stood there, the building shut itself. " The child pointed over at the camera that was in place" Brother, quick, said Skrinir, Check if there is a way out" Skvan went hurriedly and checked the exits and entrances of the building. He looked at his sister "We are locked in" he said to her. What do we do now? he asked her. We wait with the children , she said. We are not leaving without them.

Skrinir and her brother sat down in the corner, watching the children work endlessly. Why won't they stop? she asked her brother. I don't know, maybe because they don't know anything else, he replied. Don't they know how good the snow is just outside, the fresh air that brushes past our faces every fay, she asked her brother. Skrinir, do you not remember when we were kids, we were taken as fugitives. Did we know all these things? we just knew how to fight and kill, he said to his sister. That is all we know now, she said. To fight and kill. Yes, at least we do something right, he said to her now. Some day these children will too know the things you know now, he said to her. I guess time changes things, said Skrinir. Skrinir looked at Skvan " Are you happy?" he asked him. I don't know, he replied to her. Me too, she replied. I'm supposed to be, aren't I? She asked Skvan. I suppose so, replied Skvan. There was some noise outside and the door opened. Entered " Yondrin and Ilke" both in their Robot machine.
