"The man that we are talking about, is he a demon?"
She asked me after a short while. That was the first time she initiated a conversation with me and I was more than willing to entertain her question so I told her everything she needed to know.
"Well, not exactly a demon yet. He is more like a possessed individual. His consciousness is still lying dormant somewhere within him but there is also a demon residing inside him. Technically speaking, his body was no better than a demon's vessel at the moment. However, the longer the demon was allowed to control him, the higher the risk that it would overtake his body. When that time happened, another demon would gain access to your world and would continue to live amongst others using the identity of that guy."
I tried my best to make everything sound simple for her. I made it brief but precise. However, after I said that and I looked at her again, I saw her face sporting a beautiful blank.
The truth must have shocked her beyond her wits and she was probably having a hard time digesting all the information that I shared with her.
After all, not everyone was made aware and educated enough while they were still a child that demons and angels were indeed for real and let alone used to coexist and lived amongst mortal in the Land of the Man.
She did not have to tell me how inconceivable everything was for her at that moment because the expression on her face said it all. I was certain that she could hardly believe her ears after hearing everything that I told her.
"Actually, there is somewhere that I need to be. Do you want to walk with me?"
I offered and then added,
"We can talk on the road."
She seemed to like the idea that I suggested so she nodded her head without saying a word she followed me.
We walked o the empty street with her on my tow.
"The guy from last night..."
She muttered under her breath
"Hmm.."
I mumbled as a response.
"...you are saying he is possessed."
"You could never be more right than that."
I told her.
"Where did he come from?"
"Hell, the Underworld, or whatever damn name you humans wanted to call it."
"You talk as if you are not one. Are you suggesting you are not like me then?"
She asked me again, this time, with an upturned eyebrow
"I am what you humans used to refer to as a fallen angel,"
I revealed my real identity and told her about my secret just like that.
"This is totally insane. Stuff like this just doesn't happen."
At this point, I was not sure anymore if she was saying those words to convince me or herself.
"You know how sometimes people just suddenly flip out?"
I took a short pause to check whether she was paying me any heed and after confirming that her attention was indeed on me, I continued.
"Have you heard of anyone suddenly going into a blood craze and slaughter their entire families and all, including their precious pets?"
I have this mannerism that I usually waved my hands to demonstrate and further emphasize what I was trying to say, and she seemed to be entertain about it.
..Not that I mind...
So I resumed,
"Well, it is basically because they are possessed."
It was a known fact that people who tended to keep negative emotions upon themselves were usually the one that attracted demons upon themselves; because demons happened to feed on this kind of malicious energy.
They used to attach themselves to those individuals who happen to deal with constant negative energy on a daily basis.
As time dragged on, these demons would grow stronger inside them starting as a little voice inside their head. At first, they would whisper evil deeds upon their victim's conscience and eventually influenced their psyche and then before these people could even realize what had come to them, demons had already possessed them from inside out.
