Next Quest

The next day, we took care of the infestation which earned us 700 copper coins, better than Soil ranked quests. We headed to the west of Noltia where we took a quest about goblins threatening the village of Elsie. It is stated that the goblins are at least H rank so it's a cakewalk from there.

But first, I want to check on Paura. I sent him to hunt down monsters and avoid humans and now I want to know how he did alone. But there's one problem. I don't know where he went off to since I told him to hunt yesterday.

"Uh, System, how can I check on Paura?"

[However, their arrival is not immediate. Call for Paura.]

Time has passed and we've reached the Village of Elsie, in the distance, there is a elderly human male who is the chief of this village. We meet him and told us where the camp is which is straight ahead.

We reached to the location where goblins are located along with the camp they made. They amount to 30 goblins which are F ranked. Though, I am D ranked, a moment of carelessness will bite me in the ass. Until I felt a tremor from my feet.

[Caution. A strong enemy detected.]

The system alerted me and I looked around until I see a being in slightly pale green skin and taller than any average adult. It is fat, yet muscular. It also wears a giant pelt of a Rock Bear. That being wields a giant club that is ripped out of a tree that is bigger than my body.

"System check its stats."

Damn, had we jumped out earlier, that Hobgoblin might've caught us lacking. I looked at Hyoran who is shocked to see a Hobgoblin who, to her, are terrifying. Sharp, misshapen teeth, yellow eyes, bulging veins on his face, and to top it off, a menacing look.

To ensure victory, I better evolve Gris since Paura is coming to our location.

"System, I wish to evolve Gris."

With this, Gris howled and silvery wisps swirled around him. The howl startled the goblins including the hobgoblin, but luckily they didn't pinpoint our location. The wisps grew larger and swirled faster until it bursts in front of us like a puff of smoke.

What I'm seeing now is Gris is now slightly bigger, but his fur has completely changed. It was dull gray and now a shiny silver. His eyes are now the color of the sky instead of yellow.

The reason I picked Silver Wolf is because it is one of the paths which led him to become Argent Storm Wolf. However, in this life right now, it could be different. Normal Silver Wolves are usually at Rank F or E, but I ranked him up and made him stronger than any typical Silver Wolves. The skill Air Walk lets him run on air, since he has no wings, he uses the wind to traverse through the air as long he has magic.

I smiled at the display that the system gave me. Giving the fact that Gris can walk on air, he is more mobile than ever. As long he's not in a cave.

"Gris...is silver now?" Hyoran said.

"Kii!"

My spider, Paura screeched to me as he arrived. Hyoran's ears and tail spiked upwards and about to yelp.

"Yee--mmph!"

I covered her mouth before she fully scream. That little scream could've ruined the element of surprise.

"It's okay, it's Paura." I said, reassuring her. Besides, spiders in general usually lives in caves unless it is evolved enough or run out of food. I put Paura on top of Gris so that Paura can attack as well.

Her wolf ears and tail became relaxed and she relaxes as well.

I have a few plans. I can use intimidation on the hobgoblin and others while Gris, Paura, and Hyoran strikes. If the Hobgoblin resists, I'll keep it distracted where the three will take on the goblins. Ezo will only jump in if we're in danger of death. If Ezo is absent, I have to take on the strongest so the weaker one scramble.

"Alright. I will distract the hobgoblin. Gris, Paura, and Hyoran will take on the goblins. Once you're done, take on the hobgoblin." I said.

"Are you sure? That hobgoblin is no pushover." Ezo said, worried about our safety.

"It's fine. That hobgoblin is probably the reason the goblins are threatening the village." I said.

I stood up and walked out of the bushes which gave a rustling sound of vegetation being moved. I began walking towards the hobgoblin and used Concealment and Camouflage. In Ezo's and Hyoran's eyes, I just vanished right in front of them.

"Where did he go? He vanished." Hyoran said.

"He used Camouflage. How many more skills does he have?" Ezo wondered.

I continued to walk where I am at a fair distance from where I was hiding and the hobgoblin. The time has come to fight a strong opponent.

I finally used Intimidation on the Hobgoblin.

"Giih!?"

The hobgoblin grunted and froze on the spot and the goblins are also frozen in place.

"Now! Take out the goblins!" I yelled. Hyoran jumped out of the bush as unsheathed her sword and ran towards the affected goblins. Gris snarled and ran across the air along with Paura on his back.

Hobgoblin breaks free of my Intimidation and growled at me. I clapped my hands at it, treating it like some domesticated dog.

"Come on, big guy. Let's dance." I taunted, gesturing him to come on over. The hobgoblin was now angrier than before and can no longer ignore me.
