Black Horseman of the Night (Part 3)

With my command, my monsters roared and their respective elements immediately surrounds them in a raging spiral. Lightning dances, flames rages, darkness looms, and the wind howls throughout the night sky.

"The monsters are evolving all at once!?"

"How is this possible!? It takes months if not years to evolve!"

"P-prepare for battle!" Elliot said and turned his back to me, running for his life with his horse.

The mercenary army went into disarray due to seeing an unprecedented sight. Which gives me and the Hellhound a chance to strike.

I whipped my harness and Zala neighed loudly for battle. Zala then started sprinting and the Hellhound started sprinting towards the army while my other monsters are evolving.

I imbued my halberd with Dark Magic and swung it, creating a wave of darkness upon the army.

*BWOOM!!*

The wave sends multiple enemies away while some were killed instantly by my slash as my halberd cleaves them in two.

[589 hostiles remain.]

The hellhound on the left side of me ran and leaped at a mercenary who is wielding a staff and wearing a green mage cloak. The magician panicked and put his arm out where the hellhound opened its black maw and chomps down upon it.

*CRUNCH*

"Aaagh! Get it off me!" the magician screamed as the hellhound's bite is enough to break bone. The cloth he is wearing offered little to no protection from the hellkin's jaws. As he is punching the Hellhound, it only angered it further and reached for the throat.

"AAA---!!" The magician tried to scream, but was soon silenced when the teeth stabbed the throat. The foam he produces became red from being mixed by his own blood.

*CRUNCH!!*

*RRIIIIPP!!*

The hellhound tears a great chunk off of the magician's throat. Blood sprays every from the fatal wound, staining the grass red. Suddenly, the hellhound opened its mouth and a wisp comes out of the bloodied corpse. The hellhound then chomps down on it and swallowed it whole.

[Lesser Hellhound has successfully killed an enemy and is ready to join you. Give her a name.]

[Attention. Having a Hellkin by your side increases the chances of attracting a Heavenkin.]

"I shall name you...Saeva." I said.

[Lesser Hellhound is now named as Saeva.]

[Heavenkin risk factor increased by 1%.]

With Saeva in the army, I began the evolution to Saeva.

[Lesser Hellhound > Hellhound > Flame Hellhound > Blaze Hellhound]

<EP required for multi-evolution: 300,000>

<Proceed?>

[Warning. This will significantly increase the risk of encountering a Heavenkin. Proceed?]

"Do it."

[Acknowledged. Now evolving.]

With that message, Saeva howled to the sky until shortly the dark flames of the Infernal Realm surrounded her completely.

"The hellhound is evolving! We need to kill it with Holy Magic!" one mercenary yelled, holding a war hammer.

"We didn't expect to face a Hellkin! And Light Magic can't kill it as fast!" another mercenary yelled back, holding a spear.

*MROOOO!!*

*ROOOARR!!*

Two different roars drowns out the panicked voices and thundering footsteps quake the ground.

*CRUNCH!*

*CRASH!!*

[566 hostiles remain.]

The gruesome sounds of flesh and armor being crushed screams out and blood soon followed. I looked to see Taudera is decimating the army.

Taudera's gray rock-like armor plates turned darker and his fur became redder. His body also became bigger and muscular from the evolution and let's not forget that his horns are thicker have a faint, veiny, red glow on it.

Taudera snorts aggressively, causing embers to shoot out from his nose.

[Evolution complete. Taudera has evolved to Blazestone Bull.]

[Due to evolution, Taudera has risen to Rank A.]

[Skills acquired for Taudera. Fire Magic-VII, Earth Magic-VII, Poison Nullification, Lightning Resistance, Accelerated Regeneration, Thick Skin, Lava Magic-I.]

Lava Magic. A combination of Fire and Earth where leaving puddles of it deals damage to anyone who touches it, including the user if it does not have at least the Heat Nullification skill. It also burns the environment if left unchecked.

[Attention. Mutation detected for Santrasa.]

Mutation!? How!? When?! That was never in any of the games of Evolutionism! What kind of mutation!? Will Santrasa grow another tail? Grow another head, eye, or something not tiger like.

I hope Santrasa doesn't die from it, it will lower my chances of sweeping this under the rug!

*BRAKOOM!!*

Thunder roared throughout the battlefield where I am seeing that lightning...is red? Red lightning?

When the lightning dissipated, I see Santrasa's primary color fur red with his black and white stripes shaped like lightning bolts.

[Evolution complete. Santrasa has evolved to Storm Tiger.]

[Due to evolution, Santrasa has risen to Rank A.]

[Skills acquired for Santrasa. Lightning Magic-IX, Lightning Absorption, Super Speed, Super Strength, Lightning Dominance-IV, Flash Step.]

[Mutation completed. Santrasa has mutated to Red Storm Tiger.]

[Due to mutation, Santrasa has risen to A+.]

[Unique Skill acquired. Red Lightning.]

Red Lightning? I don't see a skill like that in the game. I do see it from my monsters and guild members, but it wasn't a skill. It was there for aesthetics.

*GRRRR!*

Santrasa began growling, then the red lightning danced around him. He is preparing something big, but doing so made him vulnerable.

I turned Zala around to get behind Santrasa where I could get caught in his giant spell.

"Taudera, come to me!" I said. Taudera who is plowing through turned around.

*RIP!*

By Taudera doing so, he tore off an arm of an mercenary with his horn.

"AAAAH MY ARM!!" an axe wielding mercenary shrieks as he is clutching the ripped off arm. Taudera ran back to me and turned to the army.

The army took damage, but not enough to make them run. Elliot who was in the front already retreated to the back.

"They stopped attacking! Archers, Magicians!" Elliot yelled.

The archers drew their bows, the magicians readied their magics and launched them all. They rain arrows and magic down upon us, fire, water, ice, earth, wind, and lightning, some of which vary from tiers I-III, but I know who'll do something about it.

*BWOOOOHHH!!*

A tornado explosively intercepted the projectiles, the vegetation nearby scream from the sudden appearance of the uninvited tornado. The projectiles aimed at us were snatched away by the tornado's cruel cradling hands.

I looked back and I see a small girl floating in the air. Short arms and legs, a long green dress that goes slightly past the feet, mint green hair, and emerald eyes. I was dumbfounded. I thought it would still be a sphere surrounded by more wind.

"Viridesca?" I said. The girl looked down at me with her emerald eyes and gave me the biggest, brightest smile. She then flew down and hugged me while I was riding Zala.

"No way...it really is you." I said. Viridesca looks up and nodded.

[Evolution complete. Viridesca has evolved to High Wind Elemental.]

[Due to evolution, Viridesca has risen to Rank B.]

[Skills acquired for Viridesca. Wind Magic-XI, Earth Nullification, Water Resistance, Perception, Concealment, Accelerated Regeneration, Wind Dominance-V, Earth Ward-IV, Immortal (Elemental), Humanization.]

Wow...not only Viridesca has been humanized, she is immortal. If she is humanized, can she speak?

"Can you speak?" I said to Viridesca. She shook her head with a slightly sad expression on her face. She cannot speak, but seeing that she can respond means that she understands me.

"Will you support us with your magic?" I asked. Viridesca smiled, brimming with determination. Looks like she's ready.

"Alright." I let her stand and she gently floats up and gestures the tornado to dissipate.

Santrasa growled even louder, making the lightning rage around him rapidly and Viridesca surrounded Santrasa with her wind.

"The tornado stopped! Attack again!" Elliot yelled, hoping it'll succeed the second time. However, it won't work as he is too late.

*ROOOAAARR!!*

Santrasa gives out a mighty roar fitting for a mighty beast. A faint red beam of light appeared, red electric particles float and dance around the beam as it rapidly gets brighter.

Until...

*Bzzt!*

*BRAKA-KABOOOMM!!!* *BWOOOSH!!*

The red lightning struck down at the middle of the army, vaporizing them in the process, followed by a massive tornado, devouring the army. The tornado is given a red hue where Santrasa's red lightning gave it that color.

The screams that were once there are beginning to dwindle as the tornado intimidate the trees with its ominous howl.

The crimson tornado also began shooting lightning at the army, making their situation worse.

"Get away from the tornado! It has lightning bolts!" Trevon yelled.

*BZZZT!!*

*BLORSH!!*

The red lightning bolt struck a nearby female archer, scattering her body. Bits and pieces that remained are charred where the rest is a fine red mist.

Trevon glared at me angrily. I see you, buddy, but I ain't gonna stop. You wanna get the smoke, I'll give it to ya. If you wanna know behind this mask, I'm pulling out a shit-eating grin.

"Regroup!" Trevor yelled out. The mercenaries passed the order to move away from the raging tornado's lightning. I could tell Viridesca to move the tornado, but it was slow moving.

"Alright, Viridesca, call off the tornado." I said.

Viridesca put her hands forth and the tornado dissipated along with the lightning.

[433 hostiles remain.]

*Kiiek!*

*Screee!*

Two screeches come out and I see my two familiar birds looking better than ever. And most importantly, stronger than ever.

Schwarze previously had a black feathers with a purple shine, but now it had purple and red as well. Schwarze's eyes that had purple became multi-colored with purple, red, and blue. It also has three tufts instead of two compared to the Great Horned Owl. His talons are also given a purple shine as well.

[Evolution complete. Schwarze has evolved to Dark Despair Owl.]

[Due to evolution, Schwarze has risen to Rank S.]

[Skills acquired for Schwarze. Dark Magic-VII, Wind Magic-IV, Curse Magic-VI, Dark Dominance-III.]

I then look at Groza whose feathers are assorted with yellow lightning patterns on his wings and legs. Additionally, he has a single long feather.

[Evolution complete. Groza has evolved to Great Storm Eagle.]

[Due to evolution, Groza has risen to Rank A.]

[Skills acquired for Groza. Lightning Magic-VI, Wind Magic-VI, Lightning Absorption, Wind Resistance, Water Resistance, Haste, Lightning Dominance-II, Water Ward-I.]

With them evolved, their chances of surviving dropped some more, but if the battle takes too long, the bandits might arrive during my battle. Speaking of bandits, I wonder if Hyoran is okay.

"Hey, Hyoran?" I said.

"Yes?" Hyoran responded.

"Are there any bandits coming to you?" I asked.

"No, otherwise Gris and Noire would've noticed." Hyoran answered.

Good, it's going smoothly for now, but I gotta watch my monsters carefully when it comes to magic, it's not limitless. I have to two more monsters that are evolving and I have to keep at it, but when they know they can't win, they'll scatter. If they scatter, I'll have to get Noire and Gris to finish them off.

When I get my hands on Elliot and the other nobles, Alphonse better pray he dies from cardiac arrest.
