Immediately those words are out of his mouth, the room silences and the sound of Aubrey's chewing echoes loudly. She awkwardly munches on the food in her mouth before swallowing. She chuckles nervously, trying to break the intense atmosphere, "Uh, that can't be true. I've seen Connor and the others eat."
Kai smirks, folding his arms and leaning into the chair, "Just like you, I wasn't born like the other gods."
She stares at him for a second with her eyes wide. She knows the other gods do eat after she confirmed it at the ball but however, she hasn't seen Kai with food in his mouth apart from a cigarette. She then remembers her knowledge gotten from the books in the University's library. "So you take nectar and Ambrosia instead?"
From Greek mythology, Ambrosia is known as the food of the gods.
Kai's smirk grows wider, "I'm not born like other gods." He repeats, "I don't feed."
