The Raven Empire, the imperial capital

The cold wind brushed across the girl's face as she ran desperately through out the night. She knew if she didn't escape tonight she might never be free. Just a few more steps to freedom she kept telling herself. Ava didn't understand why her heart felt so heavy right now. She was so close to everything she wanted, but why did it feel so wrong.

Then that man flashed through her mind, with his devilish smirk and perfect jawline. Ava thought to her self why am I even thinking about that jerk. He is the one who caused this whole mess. I hope I never see his stupid face again.

At that moment, Ava tripped on a rock and fell down the mountain. Ava was so shocked she forgot how to scream. All she could think about was him.

Right before she hit the ground she whispered his name "Damon". She closed her eyes and waited for impact, however it never came. The next second she opened her eyes full of shock and met his intense gaze. He said in a low husky voice "Your not getting off that easily my dear"….
