Chapter 44: Chen Zhaohui, part 5.

The cart was still waiting for them, the driver being paid to do so. Chen Zhaohui gave the man one of his peaches as Nikola looked down with approval.

The cart stopped by the school and Nikola quickly ushered Chen Zhaohui inside. There was only one free seat at the front of the class. Nikola rolled his eyes at the already high expectations Wei Caihong had of their son.

There were symbols on a big piece of paper that was hanging from the wall and the children, and a few adults, were copying them in sand. Nikola quickly exited, not wanting to disturb the lesson anymore, and he headed home.

"It's good work that your husband is doing," the cart driver said, who had waited outside. Nikola paid him for this and allowed the man to earn himself another silver, even if the trip wasn't all that long.

Nikola sighed. Oh, everyone wanted to tell him how Wei Caihong had changed. So, as if they expected, Nikola to leave the man any day now.
