A magnificent tale it was, but Ghost felt there was something important missing, more specifically, something was intentionally being left out.
"Let's say everything you said is true. Well, who are you exactly?"
Lil Ghani tapped his fingers on the wall lightly, his eyes scrutinizing Ghost closely and his mind seemingly in a heavy debate with himself.
"I guess this secret of mine won't last very long, so I'll tell you. I am the former president of Afghanistan, President Ashraf Ghani."
The former president of Afghanistan was right before their very eyes?
No way! Right?
And let's not forget! This "former president" looked like a kid! There's no way he was a—
Lil Ghani interrupted, "I know, I know. I look like a kid, right? There's a reasonable explanation for that."
"Hm?" Ghost and the others exchanged glances, a similar skepticism within all their eyes.
If there was a reasonable explanation for the former president of Afghanistan turning into a child, then the earth must be flat and the moon landing a hoax.
Lil Ghani cleared his throat, "I have a friend—well—I wouldn't really say 'friend' is the right word to describe him. He's a, uh, man of science, harnessing powerful technology, intelligence, and a longevity beyond the mortal coil."
Ghost felt that this kid might be living in a world of his own creation, living out his falsified fantasies in reality. He couldn't help but feel sorry for the kid, to which Lil Ghani quickly took notice of.
"You-you-you! You think I'm making shit up?!" he stumbled over his words, his cheeks flushed red in embarrassment, "Just wait, I'll take you to meet him and you can see for yourself. His name is Mr. Manchini, Head of the House of Manchini. And he's not just Head of the House of Manchini, he's also one of the oldest Rocket League players in existence."
One of the oldest Rocket League players in existence?
No way! This was just who Ghost was looking for!
"You said he's one of the oldest players?" his breathing was heavy and each word took a load of energy to voice.
"Hmph! Now you're taking my words seriously? Ai. You know what, you and I clearly share a similar love for Rocket League, and being kindred spirits, I won't hold this against you. Like I said, his longevity is beyond that of a mortal's; even I don't know how long he's existed."
While talking about Mr. Manchini, a glimmer of admiration was clearly reflected in Lil Ghani's eyes. After considering just how bizarre Mr. Manchini's entire existence was, it made sense though.
How many strange beings truly existed?
With each and every passing day, Ghost felt like almost nothing would surprise him soon.
Ghost also felt a fervent excitement burning in his heart, this was who he was looking for!
He asked, "Alright, so where can we find—"
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
Three heavy knocks resounded throughout the building with heavy vibrations like earthquakes, it was like giants were laying siege to a castle's fortified walls.
Ghost's group froze, looking around nervously and it was up to Roach to say what needed to be said.
Roach pulled himself together, declaring, "Sounds like someone breaking in!"
Several shouts rang out in a perfect follow, "Breach and clear!"
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Several bangs rang out, explosions going off all throughout the building. Glass shattered, walls collapsed, and doors were bashed down.
[Round 1]
[Ghost, Roach, Captain Price, Wolverine, Lil' Ghani] Vs. [Afghan Soldiers]
[Defend the bombs.]
The five grabbed at their heads, a pounding sensation brutalizing at their brains in agony while a strange sensation washed over their bodies. They felt an instinct of sorts, telling them to defend two sites.
One, the location of the Xbox Code Eden console, more specifically, Rocket League.
Secondly, the outside patio with the golfing range.
Why these two sites out of the entire mansion? Yes, one of these sites was on the first floor while the other on the second floor, but who can you blame for the terrible setup?
And, this setup isn't anything new!
There here have been some spawns (disliked by very, very few people, mind me), such as Consulate's Tellers and Archives Bombsite start that operated in this manner.
Who can you blame? Your own RNG if the setup is selected or Ubihard? Keep in mind, Ubihard has to make constant changes to the map for the sake of making it look like they're doing something.
It was truly a chaotic scene as tiny drones raced into the building and Ghost's squad rushed to reinforce the doors while placing various equipment throughout the building, like large bear trap-like welcome mats.
These bear-like traps would bite down onto whichever unfortunate soul stepped over them, their claw-like ends digging into the flesh as their blood spilled into a pool. Gradually, the heat would leave their body as they lay there in suffering, their body gradually turning cold as frost.
"Deploying a Welcome Mat!" Ghost declared, placing down another two afterwards and then assisting in reinforcing some nearby walls that were destructible.
Thankfully, their muscular bodies that thrived off of Super Soldier Formula enabled them to quickly finish setting everything up just in time for their invaders to come into view.
Row after row of soldiers marched into the building, and they easily outnumbered the Ghost Squad. It was like the final Halo: Reach mission, Lone Wolf.
However, this wasn't going to be Ghost's end.
No, Ghost planned on surviving; he still had much to do. Like finding out the truth behind Rocket League!
Oh yeah—he also had to save Hoah Nill!
Ghost clenched his fists and told himself, 'Hoah Nill, I'm doing this for you.'
Ghost prayed like the faithful Christian he was. This was something he did since young, especially just before he planned to spill a couple pints of blood in some real life Mortal Kombat.
He didn't know this at the moment, but this faithful prayer would end up getting him the official thumbs up seal of approval from Mr. Manchini himself which meant more than you could ever understand.
And then? He pulled out his gun and he just started blasting.
Ghost took cover along the upstairs and pixel peaked over the staircase, catching sight of three men by the outside patio golfing range.
"No riot shields? Heh, they're unlucky."
Three pops fired off steadily and three bodies fell to the ground in a pool of blood, brain matter spilling out of their skulls.
"My aim's pretty good."
He slid down the staircase's handles, a C75 Auto machine pistol in his hands as he prefired a couple pot shots, hearing two screams follow in response.
"Pre-firing pansy!"
"Fuck you!"
It was a nifty gun and a gift from Lil Ghani himself. Ghost felt his respect for the kid—uh—man, growing more and more as he got to know him.
Ghost heard voice activity over his comms, everyone in the mansion wearing old Xbox 360 wired mic headsets.
Aside from hearing his enemies' last words as he sought and destroyed each and every one of them, he also heard Captain Price drop a beatbox with some Skrillex playing.
"Shout to all my lost boys, sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-shouts to all my lost boys we rowdy! Shout to all my lost boys, sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-shouts to all my lost boys we rowdy! Bangarang!"
Captain Price swaggered all throughout the building, a Beatpad in his hands with many different buttons, each dropping a different beat.
This Beatpad was also a gift from Lil Ghani, though it had been specifically manufactured by Mr. Manchini.
Until this day, it remained without a purpose.
His dexterous fingers clicked a series of buttons, creating an insane set of beats that traveled into all of the enemies' mics, their minds exploding at the sheer power of the beats.
They should be thankful that Captain Price showed restraint.
Had he dropped a set of lyrics, they'd have combusted into flames with a dreadful series of self-immolations occurring all throughout the mansion.
Roach and Wolverine rushed through the waves of attackers side-by-side, an iron bond of kinsmanship forged between the two as they both dreamt of that 4th of July beauty.
The two shot several hostiles while also utilizing martial arts.
Roach's feet in particular could kill almost instantaneously, his nimble movements grappling necks before snapping them, utilizing their corpses as shields against bullets.
Wolverine wielded a blade, slitting throat after throat, drenched a crimson red as he bathed in his enemies' blood.
Lil Ghani collapsed as he watched this savagery.
With their abilities beyond that of an average human's, was there anything that could take them down?
BANG!
With an ear-piercing screech, a silver cylinder bullet shot at an incredibly high speed, piercing through three Afghan soldiers, killing them instantly, and penetrating through Ghost's left leg.
"Huh?"
Bewildered, Ghost looked down and saw blood streaming from the wound... and the flesh was regenerating at a snail's pace.
He reached into the hole, pulling out the silver cylinder bullet.
It was a strange type of ammunition, one he hadn't seen before and it could counter the regenerative abilities developed from the Super Soldier Formula.
Ch-Chink.
The sounds of guns being cocked back and loaded reverberated through his ears, and he looked out a nearby window, stunned to his very core by the sight of twenty red laser sights aiming directly at his torso, arms, legs, head—his entire body.
He shouted out in desperation, "Wa-Wait! Rocket League! Let's settle this in Rocket League!"
The guns didn't fire and the soldiers seemed to be in careful deliberations.
During this time, Ghost didn't dare to make the slightest movement because he could actually die right here! His physique wouldn't save him from these bullets!
