The Empoyee

"How might you please me, Miss Parker?" "How would you want me, Mr. Holden?" I should stop. It was only a tease I had mindlessly put up, hoping to get a longer moment with him, listening to whatever I had to say, but apparently, he was a persistent young man, one who would get to the end of every matter started. "I'm only scared we don't speak of the same thing here" He followed. "Oh, I very much follow, Mr Holden" "Here's the thing Miss Parker" He began, figure tearing off the chair, approaching my form. I fretted at his incoming profile, eyes averted away, not daring to meet that striking gaze of his. Even in the calming space, I could feel the burn that rushed to my chest. He had soon pulled up beside my form, eyes peering on at my warded off profile. "I'd like to see how so well you think can please me" He called. "If you manage to have me forget how troublesome the morning has been, then I assure you, the position is all yours" Eyes had snapped up to him at once, gaze beholding the sincerity in those grey eyes. "Also.....He paused for a long minute, figure inching closer.....If you manage to have me aroused........ He drew even nearer, breath so close, it fanned against my neck. "Then you, Miss Janet Parker, will be the company's new marketer to be employed" *** He is a 24 year old heir to his father's company. She is a 28 year old lady, fired from her last job for burning the CEO with hot tea. A fiery one she is, not until she meets a man, who is just intent on breaking her.

"Become a manager at Cigg. Holdings"

Those words still rolled around my head, despite it being days since Louis had stepped here.

Me?

A manager to one of the top companies in the state, if not the best. What exactly did I know about managing such huge business?

But I tell you, Louis was one to think otherwise. In fact, he deemed me the best match to head such organization. Now, why would that be? I still couldn't figure out, all i found myself re-living, were his utterances.

This was massive. It spelt a new path in my life. Me heading such organization as Louis' was bound to change all about me. And I mean that in every good way.

My life was to change for good.

But why me? What exactly did he mean by his interest piqued in getting familiar with my character?

What character exactly? If anything I was an utter mess.

A sore one.

Why then did Louis Vettriano choose to come to me with such offer that just was irresistible.

"Jane"

I was snapped at the sound of that voice, eyes coming to behold the figure of Kristoffer, sauntering into my office.

His eyes took in every bit of the space, shifting from the desk of Susy, to mine, watching all that was cramped on there.

Those eyes skimmed through the area, as if searching for something. Perhaps it was the fact that it was his first time being in my office.

"Mr Holden"

I had taken to my feet at once, eyes watching him pull forward.

He kept silent, grey gaze held in mine, refusing to look away, and in a second, they had averted off, turning to the painting on the wall.

"I know Louis was here of great reason" He began.

"One that perhaps involved him wanting you to work with him"

I opened my mouth to speak, but shut it at once, as those eyes finally rested in mine.

Gentle, warm, I was found peering on.

"Jane, whatever he has to offer, do not accept it"

"And why shouldn't I?" The words had poured out right before I could put them to a halt.

Low breaths emitted from his lips, attention focused my way.

"Louis is always on the hunt for one person or another. His intention lies solely on his profile to the public"

"His only purpose is to use you in any way he can, so long as it benefits him"

"And you?"

"What do you want from me?"

His eyes peered blankly into mine, the bewilderment filling that gaze.

"I wouldn't use you, Jane" He called in a low voice.

"You've been doing just that since the day I stepped foot in here, Mr Holden" I called at once.

"Yet here you are trying to lecture me on who's good and who isn't"

"Jane"

"I believe I can make my own decisions, Mr Holden"

He had pulled even closer to my figure in a second, hands reaching for mine.

Those breaths hit my skin, the heat that came with him, soon englobing my entirety.

"Don't leave, Jane" Those words were so low, I barely could make them out.

"I don't want you to" He followed softly.

"You've never appreciated my stay here, Mr Holden. Why now?"

"What do you mean, Jane?" His voice had taken a rise in tone, eyes still held onto my form.

"Oh, Please" I drawled. "You very much know what I mean"

"You only care when it's time to get around me, work your way in, and leave me being lost"

"This minute you're all over me, and the next, you're over me"

"Jane-

"I don't expect anything more" I called at once, eyes intent in his.

"But, Please. Do not try to tell me what I should do, and what I shouldn't"

"Now if you don't mind, I have some things to attend to"
