I'm still inside when Henry walks by and comes inside to see the damage. "Wait, what happened? Are you alright?" He asks me.

I stare at him with a confused expression because I have no clue why he is here. And then I realize how the house looks on the outside and reply, "Yeah. I'm alright. I just have no clue what happened." He looks at me with an expression that shows he knows what I'm talking about. With my new ability to go into different people's minds, I reach his mind and enter it. For some reason, his mind is filled with guilt. I exit and go back to present day where I am standing in front of him.

"Why are you so guilty?" I question him. He looks surprises and answers my question with his own question.

"How do you know I am feeling guilty?" He looks at me and then I can tell a thought pops into his mind. "Wait, your name is Lucille right?"

I am confused but answer the question. "Yes?"

"My mom taught me when I was younger that the most powerful elf ever was going to be named Lucille but we didn't think that would happen for years. You have the power to access other people's minds, right?"

"I think so. I was able to do it with Bennett earlier and then you now."

He looks astonished that I would do it twice in one day. "Why?!?!"

"Wait, why what? And also, where is my mother? Her job ended half an hour ago!"

"Lucille, listen closely. I don't think that you are a changeling after all. I think that your mother is the queen of elves and she has returned to her people, just with a princess of elves. Some bad people wanted to take the queen, your mother, quite a few years ago and she just now thought it safe enough to return."

"But if I'm not a changeling, why is there a girl out there in an orphanage?"

"People get stuff wrong all of the time."

"There is also the thing of I don't have elf ears!"

"Not every elf does. Especially not when you have been living among humans your entire life. Pointed ears would draw too much attention to you, attention no elf ever wants."

Now it's all making sense. Why everyone looked at me like that at school, why Bennett wants to be friends and watch over me. They all want to keep me safe. Well, at least the boys do. I think the girls would rather eliminate me in their 'competition'.

I try to access my mom's mind but something won't let me. Henry! He's trying to keep me in the present for some reason. I enter back to my mind and go, "Henry Celeborn. Let me see where my mother is!"

"No, I can't let you. It's too dangerous to do it even one time a day. If someone found out that you can do that and that you were in your mother's mind, something bad could happen."

He's right. A voice in my mind says. Don't try to find me. It's too dangerous. Besides, I'm alright.

Wait! Mom! Is that you? I try to yell out into my mind.

Yes honey. It's me. I love you very much. I'm very sorry I didn't tell you what you are. But go with Henry and ask to stay at Mary's house. She was one of my first and only friends in the elf world. She'll take care of you.

No Mom. Don't leave me. There must be some way to get you back! I basically yell into my mind.

Honey, some of the bad elves in this world have taken me. You can't try to find me. I'm not going to let my daughter get into trouble. I love you. Never forget that.

Wait mom! Don't leave me!

"Lucille, are you alright?"

"No I'm not. My mom got taken by some of the bad elves and she doesn't want me to find her. Can I stay with you guys for a few days?"

"Yeah of course. My oldest sister might have some clothes for you to wear."

"Thanks."
