Chapter Ten Snow

A loud thump was heard, as the first rhino reached the wall. Its horn cracked on the impact, while the wooden wall stood tall, not a single scratch on its bark.

The rhino howled in pain and ran around the wall. Hundreds of rhinos came after it, repeating the same event. But not a single scratch was inflicted on the wall. Reinforcing the deities' confidence in the wall.

With the ordeal over, Jantyr could finally breathe. He had saved his village and most of his worshipers had survived. About ten men died under the defense. But the survivors surpassed their limits and gained tremendous power. But best of all, Jantyr gained enough energy to upgrade himself, evolve. He had a good and bad feeling about this evolution. But ultimately, his instinct got the better of him.

Jantyr watched his people gather the dead in front of a pile of logs they'd gathered. He sighed and watched in silence.

"May the fallen souls return to our deity and forever bathe in its glory. May you become legends told to our future generations. May your fearless deeds be passed onto our children. So they will one day become as great as you!" Lenart chanted and the villagers repeated his words.

They lit the logs on fire and carefully one by one brought them to the flames. They shared fond memories of their dead friends before throwing them in the flame. The ceremony lasted for a full hour and by the end all children had fallen asleep.

Jantyr watched over his people until all had fallen asleep. Then he finally plunged into the unknown. He gathered all his energy and used it to strengthen himself and passed out cold.

(Choose your element!) something said to Jantyr, when he regained his consciousness. He saw several floating words.

(Nature) (Death) (Earth) (Life) (Dark) (Light) (Ice) (Wind) (Fire) (Water) (Abyss) (Magic) (Seasons)

Each of the aspects could be felt by Jantyr, they were intriguing and made him feel insignificant. Two of the elements gained his attention! First one being Nature and the second being the seasons. He thought about it for a long time and finally said.

"Can I get season and nature?" Jantyr asked and the whole place started to shake.

(Permission denied! Nature and season has been selected. One of the elements will randomly be given to the deity!) it said and Jantyr was thrown out of the space.

Jantyr regained his consciousness outside the space, with two sentences lurking in his mind.

(Nature and season has been meddled with by an outsider. Weather has been created and given to the deity!)

Then those words were followed by something Jantyr didn't want.

(The deity's energy has gained an element and all abilities not related to that element will be removed!) Jantyr understood those words to the core! No blessing walls with durability, neither weapons! Now he can't bless his men and women with pure energy. Meaning his blessing wouldn't be pure, making them part of the weather.

Jantyr sighed, but one thing was for sure, he was stronger. His energy was plenty and more condensed. He considered blessing Jasmine with the power of weather. But decided to hold off on that for now. Lenart on the other hand, was a perfect test subject for the energy!

Jantyr waited for Lenart to wake and when he did he talked to him.

"Hello, with the battle over, I have evolved in a way! I can no longer bless you like I used to. But now I can bless you in a different way, want to try it?" Jantyr asked Lenart.

Lenart grogrily rubbed his eyes and said.

"Sure why not." Lenart responded.

With permission Jantyr started to pour energy into Lenart, but nothing happened, so he poured more and more. Losing control of himself in the middle of the process. He only stopped when he was out of energy. When he was done and felt his lack of energy he looked at Lenart who just stood there, unresponsive to the world.

All of a sudden Lenart fell on the ground screaming in pain. With each scream a shockwave traveled through the village. Freezing winds started enveloping the village and everything around it. Lenart grabbed his head in pain and screamed with all his might.

A white dome with a tremendous amount of wind and freezing temperature came out from Lenart as he lost consciousness. The dome expanded and expanded until it exploded. Making a powerful wind burst travel throughout the country.

~Pov Jasmine~ (Third person)

Jasmine woke up and walked out of her room. It was a small sized room, about the size of a house. It had no windows, as the room was meant to make one focus solely on magic, with no petty distractions. When she walked out into the corridor, she saw a bunch of children running around in winter clothing laughing, while the adults ran back and forth, stressing over something.

She directed her focus to the window and gasped. "It's snowing?" she said.

Outside of the tower children were throwing snowballs at each other, while the older, more wise disciples of the tower were controlling the snow, to make golems and other things of snow to fight an all out war.

"What the hell is happening?"

(Back to deity)

All over the country people were contemplating the sudden winter in summer. Meanwhile the one guilty for this was panicking.

'My energy! My precious energy. You better have some sweet powers after this. That amount of energy could last me for years, years!' Jantyr thought, as he watched Lenart snoring on the ground.

The village was in full vigor, cleaning up the dead bodies and moving the snow, which had grown fifteen centimeters deep. Lenart was almost invisible due to the snow burning him in a blanket of coldness. Somehow he wasn't showing any signs of frostbite, which was good. Jantyr didn't want his strongest warrior to die of a cold.

"Where's Lenart?" one of the children asked and it kickstarted a search for the strongest warrior. The hunter helped in the search and found him quickly.

"Uncle Lenart is so funny, how did he not wake up when the snow buried him?" one of the children stated and the hunter agreed. Why didn't he wake up?
