Silence
There was silence in the room for a pretty long time. I don't know how long I was speechless from what I heard. I just couldn't figure out why and how people could do that to a child. I wondered how he survived such an ordeal. What was more baffling was how casually he spoke about it. It made me realize there was a lot I didn't know about this crazy boss of mine.
"You are staring again. Amy, I know you have never seen a guy as attractive as me but try to be subtle with the staring. It is getting a little creepy coming from you." Mr Greystone's obnoxious words shook me out of the little trance.
Whatever good thoughts or sympathy I had for him disappeared. Mr Greystone had a way of making it hard to tolerate him. "Your childhood experience explains why you have ten dogs in the basement." I decided to ignore his words that were meant to rule me up and focus on my work.
