Unwanted

"Chirp....chirp...", I opened my eyes and found myself in the backyard of Mia's house.

There was a peaceful environment. The birds were chirping around. Grandpa Wen was standing next to me.

"How dare you?", there was a scream from a woman.

I looked at Grandpa Wen, "Who's voice is that?"

He looked at me, "Stay quiet and wait."

I stood there silently looking at the door that most probably led to the kitchen.

"Mom, I am sorry...ahh...ahh", there was a little girl's cry.

Then a woman appeared holding the arm of a little girl who was crying. That girl...

"Mia...", the name escaped my mouth.

Grandpa Wen smiled, "I knew you would recognize her. Don't try to go to her because it is just a glimpse of the past and you can't do anything nor can she see you."

"*sob* mom, I... I am....s...s...orrrr...y", she kept on crying and sobbing but that woman ignored and dragged her.

She dragged her to a tree where the sun was bright and it was a hot place considering the weather of summer. A big metal stick appeared in her hand which seem to contain a small amount of firepower. She lifts the stick to hit Mia. I was about to stop her when Grandpa Wen grabbed my hand and shook his head. I looked back at the little helpless Mia.

"Ahhhhhh.....", a scream escaped her mouth when she was hit.

There was a sharp pain in my heart to see her like that and not be able to do anything.

The woman laughed, "You should have died long ago. Or I shouldn't have given birth to you. You are nothing but a curse."

My hands clenched into fists in anger. A man came and grabbed her hand when she was about to hit Mia again.

"Are you out of your mind?", the .an scolded her.

He then knelt and tried to help Mia get up, "Mia dear, calm down I will ask Grandma Wen to apply medicine for you."

I sighed in relief, "At least, her father cares about her."

Grandpa Wen smiled, "If you think that way then let me show you something."

There was a flash of light again and after that, we were in a room that wasn't familiar to me.

"How could you do that?", it was the woman from earlier, probably Mia's mother.

"Why don't you try to understand? We are in a difficult position", Mia's father told her.

She went to stand near the window in anger, "You are the ruler of the Magical Beasts. If you want you can do anything. I don't want this cursed girl to harm my little Liana and Cheng. If you can not get rid of her then I will leave with Liana and Cheng."

Mia's father came to her and grabbed her by her shoulders, "Dear, don't worry I will do as you say but you had to be a little more patient. Right now the beasts are observing and protecting her secretly. if you tried to harm her then they won't be easy on her. In comparison to our ancestors, we lack a lot of power. As for the beasts they keep an arrogant and proud nature they won't let any weak master rule them. Sooner or later they would try to replace us. If we are this weak in power then Liana and Cheng would be much more than us."

He looked at his hands," Mia has a lot of power. Recently, I am working on finding a way I transfer powers. Once that is done I will take off all the power from Mia's body. Then I will kill her. As for now, she is like a puppet for us to control the beasts because they care a lot about her. She would also be useful to protect Liana and Cheng. For the time being, be patient, or else if the beasts were to get angry at us then we are no match for them."

He laughed in a wicked tone. The woman smiled, "Then I will be a bit more patient but you must hurry up."

"How could they?", I was going crazy with anger.

Grandpa Wen pointed at the half-opened door of the room. I looked there and saw Mia who was standing there. She was trembling in fear and then ran away.

There was another flash of light and we were in Mia's room but I think we are still not back. Under the moonlight near the window was a chair in which the grownup Mia had curled.

"*sob*Why is this all happening to me?*sob* I don't want to live any longer *sob* I want to be free", her entire face was soaked in tears.

"Ahh...", there was a sharp pain in my chest.

"*sob* don't want to live*sob* When will I die? *sob*When will I be free?", she was continuously sobbing.

The more I see her the more my heart would ache. I gripped my chest tighter. The pain was becoming suffocating.

Grandpa Wen looked at me and smiled, "It seems you can't stay here any longer."

There was another flash of light and we were back. He helped me to sit on a chair and brought me a glass of water. I drank the water. My condition got a little better. I looked at Mia who was still laying there with closed eyes.

Grandpa Wen sighed, "Now you tell who is lucky? At least you could experience the time with a mother who loved you a lot as for her, her own biological parents wanted to kill her. You know every night before going to sleep she would cry and ask for death since her childhood. She seems to have too many people around her yet she is lonely. She begs for death every night with the thought that she might be free the next morning and would not need to open her eyes again in this cruel world."

A few tears fell down my eyes. I looked up at Grandpa Wen, "I know you are aware of everything. Please, tell me whether I am her real mate or not?"
