Suspect

"Lin, after finding out about my condition did you give me your blood?", I asked him.

But he remained silent.

I went towards the door with all my anger filled inside me.

Lin came behind me and grabbed my hand, "Mia, where are you going?"

"It is none of your business. Let go of my hand", I told him without turning back.

He came and stood in front of me, "Mi Mi, I can't let you go until you recover."

"Why did you give me your blood when I had already told you not to?", I screamed out those words without thinking.

Lin grabbed both of my hands, "I am sorry Mi but I would never leave you dying until and unless I am not dead myself. Whenever you are in danger I won't step back. I won't listen to you while protecting you. This time it was just a few drops of blood but if one day it is my whole life, even then I won't hesitate or step back."

I felt him step closer to me and then he stopped when a few inches of distance were left,

"Mi, I had lost you once but I can't afford to lose you again. Please, don't go and stay here for a few days till your condition gets better."

He released my hands and fell to his knees. Before I had known he was on his knees facing the ground. He lifts his hands. and began to beg, "Mia, please I beg you don't go. Don't fight alone, let me help you. Please I beg you I can't afford to lose you again."

There was a strange pain in my chest. My heart felt like shattering at his sight. I bent down and helped him get up.

"Lin, you should remember that I don't like people bowing or kneeling in front of me", I told him while looking into his teary eyes.

He kept looking at me without saying anything.

I was helpless and sighed, "Fine, I won't leave and stay but for a few days."

The tears that were in his eyes fell and he smiled, "Thank you so much."

He gave me a short hug, " Mia, wait for me I will bring something for you to eat."

After that, he happily left the room.

Lin goes to the kitchen and starts to cook. Mia sits on the bed and closes her eyes.

She opens it and looks at her hands, "Why can't I use my magic?"

She tried again and again but her magic didn't work.

After preparing the food for Mia, he goes upstairs. At the door of the room, he stops and sighs, "I am sorry, Mia."

When he enters the room with a smile on his face, Mia was sitting there on the bed and staring at him.

Lin's POV

When I entered the room with a fake smile on my face Mia was sitting there and staring at me. It was as if she was waiting for me.

The atmosphere was quite tense. I placed the tray on the table and went to her.

"Mia, you seem angry. Is something wrong?", I asked her but she silently kept staring at me.

She didn't say anything and got up from the bed. Without saying anything she went to the couch next to the table and started eating.

I hope she didn't find out anything. But she can't, after all, I tried my best to put on the strongest shield to lock her powers. Still, I am worried about the way she is behaving and that something is wrong.

Different thoughts filled up my brain. I was extremely nervous. I went to the nearby chair and sat there observing Mi. I hope that she would not be able to find anything.

After finishing her meal she raised her head and looked at me. Our eyes met each other. I felt strange because her gaze was as if she wants me to tell her everything or she might be angry. Maybe it's all my fear that I am having these ideas in mind.

"Lin, I think you want to say something?", she finally spoke.

Her question was as of she had found out everything. A nervous laugh escaped me, "No, I don't think there is anythi... uh, I remember. I wanted to ask whether the food is to your liking. I made the soup and the fried rice as you used to like, spicy and sour. I also put the chocolate because I know that you always loved them. But still, a lot of time had passed and there is the possibility that you might don't like them anymore. Though I didn't make it too spicy and sour considering your condition."

I was so nervous that I spoke out too many words within one breath.

Mia stared at me and then sighed, "You indeed remember that. No need to worry about the food its taste was great. It seems that I had been hungry for more than a day and ate all of it. As for my condition, what do you mean by that? I mean what exactly happened to me when I was unconscious?"

"I had already told you that when I arrived there in the cave you were unconscious and the man in a cloak who was fighting outside the cave told me to take you away. I brought you to this secret villa of mine. That's it and you had been sleeping for almost two days", I tried to explain to her.

It didn't seem as if she had believed my words. But her face looked surprised.

"You mean I had been sleeping for two days?", she asked in a surprised tone.

I nodded.

"Then tell me how you find out that I was in the cave?", she asked staring straight into my eyes.

Her stare was making me more and more nervous. Somehow I wanted to tell her everything but then I was afraid of losing her. I know what to say.

I smiled and touched the mark on the back of my neck, "It was because the mate mark on the back of my neck began to shine and because of it, I woke up from my sleep. It was also a bit painful. I closed my eyes due to pain and when I open my eyes I was in the cave."

She got up from the couch with her mouth open in shock, "Is... Is that true?"
