Lin's POV

We came back to the island. All of a sudden something happened to Mia.

"Your Highness...", I rushed towards her in time and prevented her from falling to the ground.

"Your Highness, are you alright?", Liam rushed towards us.

"Your Highness, please open your eyes", I patted her face but she didn't respond. Her eyes were closed.

Hao came close to her, "She needs some rest and healing."

He looked at me, "Bring her after me."

I nodded. I was about to get up from the ground with Mia in my arms when Liam came and grabbed my arm.

"Let me carry her", he stared at me.

I ignored him but he didn't let me move, "She is my mate. As for you, you are just a guard who doesn't need to get close to her."

Hao came and pushed away his hand, "You may be her mate but right now let him carry her. If you keep on delaying her condition might get worse. Liam, you should go back."

He didn't say any other word and stood at a distance with his glaring eyes fixed on me.

I took Mia to the healing tree. I and Hao remained there with her. As for Liam, he was gone. I didn't expect him to leave.

Hal came close to me, "Lin, be on your guard because something big is gonna happen."

I gave him a blank look, "What do you mean?"

Be sighed, "Things went smooth. It is a sign of a silent disaster."

His words were quite strange, "But how can you say that things went smooth? Can't you see her condition? This fight had made her end up like this and you are saying that they went smooth."

He looked at the sky, "It's her condition that made me say it. I didn't expect her to survive but she is alive. Besides, the spirits were weaker than expected. She is way too strong but the closer she gets to the evil power the harder she can control her power."

In the evening Mia's condition got better although she had not opened her eyes yet. Hao told me to help him take her back home. I carried her back home. Everyone was worried to see her like that. I carried her upstairs to her room. After laying her down on the bed, I saw the bear stuff toy I gave her. It was lying there on her bed.

I felt delighted to see that. It was a great moment for me to think that she cherishes the thing I gave her. I felt as if she is keeping me close to herself instead of that bear.

"Brother Lin, thank you so much for taking care of my sister", Liana said with a smile.

I like my hand in her head, "Till I am with your sister, you don't need to worry about her. Don't thank me it was my responsibility and I don't like to see my little sister as if she owes me."

She smiled brightly.

Cheng stepped forward, "As a brother of my sister I should also thank you."

I patted him on his shoulder, "No need to thank me. I already told you that I will always protect her."

I was forced to stay and have dinner. I was not able to eat even a single thing. My mind was filled with worries. I hope Mia will wake up soon.

Grandpa Wen grabbed my hand, "Young Master Yang if the dishes are not of your choice then feel free to tell."

I smiled, "It's not that. They all seem quite delicious."

He smiled, "I know you are worried about little Mia. We all are worried but you know if she wakes up and finds out that we were starving ourselves because we were worried about her then it will be a disaster."

He laughed, "Little Mia is such a caring girl. You better eat because she will be angry if she finds out you haven't eaten anything."

I nodded, "Then I should better not anger her."

They all laughed. Liana laughed and looked at me, "It seems that Brother Lin is also afraid of sister."

They all looked like a happy family. Cheng, Liana, Grandma Wen, and Grandpa Wen. Mia is so lucky to have a family with whom she can laugh. I wish I could enjoy the same joy of having a loving and cheerful family. If my mom was alive.

After dinner, I went to check on Mia. Her body seems much better than before.

"I am really happy to see you caring about her", I heard Grandpa Wen's voice.

I turned around and saw him standing there with a peaceful smile on his face. He came close to Mia and checked her pulse.

He then sighed and went to the window, "Do you know how it feels when your parents want to kill you?"

I hesitated, "What do you mean?"

He chuckled, "So, you don't know but she knows. I am sorry to say this but I am a curious person. At the dining table, I accidentally, read your thoughts. You were envious of her because she has a cheerful and loving family. Weren't you?"

I nodded, "You are right. Since my mother died online cared for me. The father who once loved me now doesn't care about me. The other family members already hate me because I own the company. Only my Grandfather is by my side. I have siblings but they are guided to hate me. As for Mia, her siblings love and care about her. She had got grandparents like you and Grandma Wen. Everyone around her loves and cares about her."

Grandpa looked at me with a sad expression on his face, "So, you don't know her completely. You know what I think you are lucky than her. You said that your family members don't like you just because you are the owner of the business. In other words, you have more power than them. As for her, she is more powerful than anyone in this world so, you can imagine how many enemies she has. Compared to her your power is nothing yet people hate you. Think about her, she is the most powerful then how many people will be loving and caring about her from their hearts."

He came close to me and held my hands, "Lin, I am going to show you something. Look into my eyes."

There was a bright flash of light.
