Chapter 68 - Core Link
Akio slowly gets up, trembling, as if the few seconds of using his Core magic took a toll on him. Ace, Jack and Hercules ask him if he's alright.
"Yes, but I'm ending it now."
Taking the other three men by surprise, Akio activates his Core Phoenix magic again, as he jumps into the core, this time landing on top of it. Akio grabs it, as he pours his magic energy onto it, forcing the core to pour its own energy onto Akio, creating a rift between them.
Akio's body is scorched by the core's heat, but Akio does not let go. Instead, he strengthens his grip on the core, opening his soul as much as possible. Meanwhile, the Phoenix is thinking that Akio's a madman.
"Akio, stop what you're doing this instant! Even with your Core magic, it's obvious that you can't survive this!"
"Don't.. underestimate.. me..!"
