The Alpha On Campus

Everyone has that one person who makes them uncomfortable. That guy when he walks in a room you can feel the energy shift. A constant string of different girls under his arm, never really caring about much of anyone but himself. Two years I spent avoiding him, making sure he never knew I even existed. Even though we’re apart of the pack, a few families like mine weren’t able to talk to our wolves. Not ranking in a society built on levels can really take it out of you, so being in the same room as them is nevertheless difficult.. Who knew that all of that avoiding would eventually bring me here to this moment. Striding towards me was that same guy, dripping blood on the floor as he walked. "Mate.." he said sliding out the chair on the other side of the table plopping down into it. His face had splattered blood all across it, causing his piercing emerald eyes to shine bright against the red. I wanted to run.

The crafts

I woke up in the morning wrapped up in his strong arms. The room looked clearer than it ever had before. Even though the dark curtains were drawn I could see the room as clear as day. I could even hear the people chatting in the kitchen moving about their daily tasks. Stretching I realized my neck ached ever so slightly, but a smile crept on my face remembering the evening before.

"Finally! I knew he was perfect for us!" Fallon yelled jumping around in the back of my mind howling happily. I could feel my cheeks getting hot, we're finally one with our mate and it felt amazing.

"Oh stop it, your always such a drama queen." I laughed at her attitude over the past couple weeks.

"Well one of us has to be... I want to see our mark." she howled in excitement, my heart fluttered at the fact I was with my mate was starting to sink in. Especially since of where we started.

Slowly I tried to slip out of his arms, but that only caused them to tighten. He let out a sleepy grunt scrunching his face as I freed myself and got off the bed. His dark hair fell freely over his strong jaw line. Moving the lose curl out of his face I bent down and gave him a kiss on his forehead. Going into the bathroom my reflection caught my attention, my eyes had more golden flakes than before even after my birthday, and my hair turned a lighter shade of auburn.

I looked like me but carried myself with more authority than before, I could feel a new power coming from both Fallon and I. Turning my head ever so slightly I could see my mate mark, it looked different than others. Instead of it resembling a crescent moon as most others did, mine resembled a full moon. It looked as if someone had placed a tiny tattoo of the moon directly on my shoulder it was even lighter in some places and I wondered if his matched mine, I hoped it would.

Quickly I tied my hair up and got into the shower letting the water refresh me. When I got out I slipped on my clothes, fixing my curls back into place so they covered my mark. I still didn't want my parents to see it just yet, although having your mate is one thing but admitting to your parents you've mated was awkward no matter how you look at it. Leaving the bathroom I noticed the bed was empty.

"Finn?" I said quietly, I knew he was still in here since I could now sense his presence. Looking around in the darkness of the room I could see spirals of gold and red tangling around one another almost dancing around where he was, his aura was giving away his hiding position. I decided to try image sharing with him since he would now be able to see it with me, I closed my eyes thinking of showing him exactly what I was seeing and how beautiful the colors are.

"Woah is that really how you see?" he jumped out from his hiding place moving fast to meet me on the other side of the room.

"Only sometimes.." I looked up at my mate proud to see he didn't think it was weird.

"My mom told me about this before, I never thought I'd expect to see it for myself! My mate is truly amazing." he pulled me into a hug resting his head atop mine.

"So is mine." I murmured into his chest. "I was going to get us some breakfast do you want me to wait for you?" I pulled back taking in the sweats and old t-shirt he was wearing.

"What?" he looked down but quickly chuckled, "Lets go, this isn't the first time they've seen me in pjs." he kept his arm around my shoulder as we walked to the kitchen.

"Are you going to tell me why you were hiding?" I giggled at the thought of his very tall self actually trying to hide. His cheeks got a little red but he just shook his head no.

During the short walk I kept glancing up at him, amazed that I have my mate and how amazingly handsome he was. The thought of the other girls that had hung on his arm before still made me want to growl and Fallon want to pounce but I knew he was mine and I was his. He caught me staring at him and gave me this bright smile that made my heart skip a beat and one to form on my own face. When we reached the kitchen I couldn't help but feel a little shy and a little nervous. He gave my shoulders a squeeze and went to sit at the table.

"Hey Dali help me with this." my mom said opening the oven letting out the delicious aroma of bacon.

"Of course." I walked over grabbing a oven mitt and helping her with the large pan. We set it on the counter carefully but she let out a gasp, "Mom are you okay!"

"Y..Your m...marked..." she stammered causing my hands to fly up to where her eyes were staring.

"Umm, about that.." I could feel my cheeks getting red when his heavy arm fell over my shoulders distracting me with the bliss of his nearness. Thankful for him I gave him the best smile I could muster.

"That is my fault ma'am.." he said in a small voice, she just gave a quick nod and pointed to the food signaling to just go eat. It looked like she was on the verge of crying, although I couldn't quite tell if it was happy or sad.

We gathered our plates and sat back down where he had before. I knew the talk that she was gearing up to have with me. With the look in her eyes it could go either way, I just hoped she wouldn't bring my dad into it. We had already gone over the talk but there was something else there, almost like she knew something and it hurt her. I was so lost in thought when I heard his laughter take over. My head snapped up to look at him just as he wiped away a tear.

"Your so innocent.. Its cute." he laughed a little more before throwing his hands up to the glare I was giving him. "We have to go over the budget for the festival today and finalize a few thing, are you up for it?" he said quickly changing the subject.

I nodded taking a bite out of my breakfast. After we were done I stopped by my room to get changed. To my relief both of my parents were out helping around the pack lands today, with the festival next week everyone was doing their part. I threw on a comfy sweater and jeans before putting on a pair of my favorite combat boots. By the time I finished he had already showered and returned dressed.

"You ready?" he said with a smile as he reached out for my hand. I simply nodded and took his hand in mine.

We decided to walk to the area where the festival was always held instead of drive. It was a large field in the center of town where we normally held these kinds of events where most of the pack would gather. Over my short two years here I had only ever visited this place with Val as her plus one to a wedding. There was a large gazebo towards left side of the area, its tall white pillars and delicately carved banisters always took my breath away. It looked like most places on the territory, it was a different architecture of history and it had always reminded me of the ancient Greeks.

We walked over to that wonderful pavilion, I had never noticed but there were small wolves running across most of the support making up the delicate curves in it. I smiled walking up the two stairs that lead to the open space. I could see a why so many couples asked to use this space every year. Peaking over to Finn who was now talking to other wolfs instructing where the different attractions would go I wondered if he would wish to have something like that. It didn't seem to be his style.

"You also said he was mean.." Fallon said rolling her eyes. I ignored her, hoping she was right. I walked over to where he and a few other pack members had gathered to discuss the festival. It was nice to watch him take command of everything, he was going to make a great alpha when he ascends.

After a while we braked for some lunch before heading out to gather materials. Finn and I had to run into the city to get the decorations for the ball. It made me nervous leaving, it seemed like every time I did something awful happened but I kept my worries to myself. I didn't want to bring up the last attack, I could still see the glint of sadness in his eyes even when he smiled. When we finally crossed over the territory line I felt that same worry turn into something more, fear.

We pulled into the parking lot of the craft store and my nerves were on high alert. I tried to tell myself it was just jitters but even Fallon was restless as we walked to the doors. It felt almost as if someone was watching our moves, almost sizing us up. I pushed the thought to the back of my head as best I could and continued on. It didn't take long for us to start finding the materials we needed to start on the decorations. The whole while I kept peeking over my shoulder as subtly as possible in hopes to catch who ever it was.

Every time I did there was no one there, even with my heightened senses I couldn't find them. Luckily we were finished before the feeling became to much to bear. As we loaded up the bags into the car I could feel eyes staring at. I looked up to meet the eyes of a small set woman. Her long raven black hair hung long almost to her waist. The dark eyes she had looked almost as black as her hair from this distance.

A smile twitched on her lips as she saw my nerves start to bubble up showing on my face. A black aura started coming from her, it was nothing like I had ever seen and it was coming straight for me. Turning on my heels I went to tell Finn but as I did black dots danced across my vision blurring it. I felt my body go numb as the darkness took over my sight. I knew Finn had caught me before I hit the ground only because the sparks from his touch were the only feelings to break through the numbness. I could faintly hear him calling my name but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't speak.

"I finally meet you little luna. You have your fathers eyes." a deep sultry voice rang out in the darkness. "Too bad you look just like her." the voice turned sour.

"W..Who is there?" I thought aimlessly into the pitch black. The silence was unnerving and even more so when I heard a sharp quick laugh.

"Oh they've forgotten about me huh?" the voice paused only to let out another sharp laugh, "I'll make them remember me. Remember what they did to me." the laughter reverbed into the shadows. Suddenly a sharp pain wracked my entire body, it felt like every muscle was being torn and put back together simultaneously.

"Why are you doing this?" I choked out the words barely able to speak through the agony.

"Simple, because I want to." the maniacal laugh shook through me, a wave of the killing intent radiating off of her washed over me. It was more frightening than that of what I have ever felt even from Finn. "I'm going to finish all of you off.. you filthy dogs." she continued laughing at the thought.

Finally my voice came out but it was only a blood curdling scream. I could finally hear Finn in the drivers seat trying his best to calm me down while speeding down the road. The pain lasted for what felt like for ever but the moment I felt the packs barrier it stopped almost as if it had never existed. Within a couple of seconds I was fully conscious, I sat up fast scaring him and sending us swerving for a few moments before he regained control.

"What the f*ck Dali!" he yelled pulling over the side of the road, "I.. I could feel it, the pain. It was like nothing I've ever experienced. Are you okay?" his face was full of concern as he scanned over me checking for injuries. I reached out placing my hand on the side of his face trying to calm him.

"I have no idea, but its done now." I said out of breath remembering how unbearable it had been. "I think were far enough away."

"That was not okay." he shook his head trying to calm down. Slowly he pulled back onto the road heading towards the pack house instead of the hospital.

"Finn do you remember the story my parents told us?" I asked knowing he would.

"The one about your parents original pack? Of course."

"I.. I think I just met her... Trista I mean." I shivered, if this was just a taste of her magic I didn't want to know what she was capable of.

He stayed quiet but speed up just a little, I could tell he was calling a meeting with the beta and omegas. There was a new look of determination on his face, I wished I could understand what he was thinking.

"I'm thinking I'm going to find that b*tch and kill her. If she's the one responsible for the attacks... she's responsible for my father." he growled through our link with a new kind power radiating off of him.
