Chapter 10 - Old Books

After playing with the piano, Drake stood up and started to walk towards the table, where Paige is sitting.

Meanwhile Paige smiled at him, as he walks towards her.

Her smile never disappeared the whole day because she enjoyed every seconds she had spend with Drake.

Drake stopped in front Paige and then he started to speak.

"You know, this morning I was thinking that I would wait and go to a few more dates with you before I do this but... I just couldn't stop myself from asking now."

He stop speaking and kneel on his right knee before he continues, while looking straight in Paige's eyes.

"Paige Krasikeva, the most wonderful, kindest and prettiest girl I ever meet in whole life, would you allow me to have you by my side for the rest of our life?"

As a response to his question, Paige stood up while pulling Drake on his shoulder, to stand up with her, before kissing him.

The kiss is amateurish and short but that is enough to wake up the sleeping little wolf of the teenage werewolf.

Thankfully Paige didn't noticed it and spoke instead.

"Yes, I would love that."

After hearing what she said, Drake kissed her one more time.

Drake pulled his head back to break the kiss before he pressed his forehead onto Paige's and say.

"I love you."

Paige smiled and replied with.

"I love you more."

They the kissed one more time before they sat down and started to talk to each other, while watching the moon at it's peak.

After staring at the city for a while, Drake escorted Paige back home.

They arrived at the Krasikeva residence passed the time for dinner, which although late, it seemed alright to Paige's mother.

With the word, seemed, being emphasized.

Thankfully, after a little bit of talking with Parcia, Drake was finally able to go home.

And when he arrived home, he was greeted with a number of questions from his siblings.

After answering the questions that can be answered, he took a shower and eat dinner.

'This is the best day of my life.'

After that he went to his room and then thought to himself before he fall sleep.

And that's how the first date of Drake and Paige ended.

Time quickly flew by and it is now January.

For the past four months, Paige and Drake got to know more about each other.

They did go to a few more dates to strengthen their bond, which worked.

They have also told their relationship to their family and got their approval, as long as their grades doesn't fall behind and they don't rush things out.

As for the classes in the school, everything is manageable and they were able to enter the top for each class.

And for the weird homeroom teacher they have... he became even weirder.

Mr. Rouk started to watch Drake closely and would always try to find anything that can prove to be unnatural about him.

The teacher would also try some weird things like, making drake stand on the sun before class.

He would also sometimes sneakily place a cross close to him, but of course Drake noticed those things.

Mr. Rouk even mixed an holy water to some of the water that Drake drunk.

Drake at first didn't bother much about it and just let it be, but that changed when he found out the reason why he's doing it.

November 18 2001.

More than a month after Drake and Paige's first date.

Drake was asked by their science teacher to get his teaching materials at the faculty.

On the way out, he noticed some old books on the desk of Mr. Rouk.

The books is made of leader and the pages is now brown in color, indicating it's age.

He picked up one of the book and open it to see what it is about.

When he read the first page of the book, Drake learned that it is about a supernatural being called, vampires.

This got Drake's interest and so he tried to read more about it.

However, before he could even read the first words of the second page, he heard the footsteps of multiple people.

That's why Drake decided to leave the faculty as soon as possible.

As for the books, he didn't bring any of it in fear that it might draw even more suspicions towards him.

From then on Drake became wary of the teacher but he didn't show it.

This is also when he finally decided to tell his behavior to his mother, Talia.

January 23 2002.

"So, are you ready to tell me why you moved here?"

On the side of a cliff deep in the forest, a teen boy can be seen sitting on the ground while hugging a teen girl.

They're staring at the half moon that lights up the Beacon Hills.

"Do you really want to know?"

The girl, which is Paige, asked the boy as she stares at him with her puppy eyes.

"Of course I want to know, because it's the reason I have you right now."

The boy, which is Drake, replied and kissed her on top of her head.

Paige sigh and said.

"It is because of my dad."

"Your dad?"

Drake tilted his head in confusion, when he heard Paige's words.

"Yes."

"What happened? Did he do something bad to you or your mother?"

After confirming that he heard her right, Drake asked her with worried expression.

"No, of course not silly. We moved here because this is my dad's hometown."

Paige said after flicking his forehead.

"Can you tell me what happened?"

Drake carefully asked, while holding his forehead that was flicked, because it might be a sensitive topic to talk about.

Paige smiled at him and started to tell stories about his father.

Paige's father died at a car accident, two months before they moved at Beacon Hills.

And then, after two months since his death, Parcia decided to live at her husband's hometown, like he always wanted.

That's why Parcia and Paige moved away from their house and move here at Beacon Hills.

Paige and her dad were closed to each other and so, his death was a huge deal for her.

He is also the reason that Paige started to attend violin lessons, as her father is good at piano.

She had always wanted to play violin with her father when he would play his piano, but she didn't get the chance to.

And when she found a violin at the clubroom at that time she just couldn't stop herself from playing it.

She poured all her emotion into that one music and because of that, she met the young boy that she fell in love with.

Even more when she discovered that the can boy a piano too, just like her father.

It is only thanks to Drake's company that Paige found the strength to moved on from his death and made her lost confidence come back.

"He must have been a great father."

Drake said after hearing Paige's stories.

"Yes he was."

Paige said as an answer, while holding a necklace with a picture of her and her father.

Drake smiled and kisses her head once again before they stood up and went home.
