Chapter 11 - Cassandra Cain

April 9 2002.

Yesterday was the seventh monthsary of Drake and Paige's relationship, which they of course celebrated.

And right now Drake, Paige, Derek and Parcia were waiting for someone at the entrance of the Beacon Hills.

Drake and Paige were currently flirting with each other, while Derek and Parcia watches over them at the side.

During the time that the two lovers were dating and getting closer and closer to each other, Derek were missing his bonding time with his brother.

Drake too noticed it and so he tries to find time for just the two of them whenever he can.

And although Drake did, he wouldn't feel the same feeling he does when spending time with his girlfriend.

Derek also noticed the different light within Drake's eyes whenever he is with Paige, and that light would not appear when Drake is with someone else.

That is why Derek entered a few relationship of his own, after three months of Drake and Paige's dating.

However, no matter what he does, Derek couldn't feel and find the same emotions that his younger brother does.

And so Derek gave up and decided to just enjoy every seconds and minutes he have with his family.

After the group of four waited for a few more hours, a white car can be seen heading towards them.

The car stopped and two people came out of it, then they started to walk closer towards them.

One was a middle aged lady with long blond hair, blue eyes and curvy body.

On her side is a teenage girl that has a gorgeous blonde hair, which is in a medium length bob and cute short hairstyles, and a blue eyes just like the older one.

"Katherine, how have you been?"

Parcia asked the blond lady, named Katherine, as she hugged her.

Katherine Cain is Parcia's sister-in-law, in short her husband's sister.

However, the two women are in fact, best friends before they became an in-laws.

"Parcia I'm fine, how about you and Paige?"

Katherine replied and asked her own question.

"I see. Anyway, I've already moved on, and well, as for Paige..."

Parcia cut off the end of her words as she turned to look at the two teenager that was flirting at their back.

Katherine followed the direction of where her sister is looking only to see her niece flirting with a boy.

Her right and thin eyebrow rose up at the sight before she continue to talk to her sister, to catch up with each other.

Meanwhile Katherine's daughter went to her cousin to talk to her.

"Hello Cass, how are you?"

Paige asked first, which started their conversation.

Drake gave the two some space and went to his brother, who has been staring at the blond girl ever since she came out of the car.

"Hello? Earth to Derek? Do you hear me?"

Drake waved his hands in front of Derek as he called for him, only to be ignored.

Drake sigh and then he whispered.

"Hey bro, your eyes are glowing."

"Wait, what?!"

That brought out Derek from his dazed state.

Derek almost yelled because of that, before he noticed how his younger brother is having a hard time preventing himself from laughing.

"Tch, you think that's funny?"

Derek asked after clicking his tongue, while Drake nodded at his question.

"Forget that, let's just go. I wanna know what kind of person my cousin-in-law is going to be, or maybe my future sister-in-law."

"Yeah right, sister-in-law my ass."

The twin bicker with each other as they approach the two young girls.

When they got close to them, Drake spoke and then hugged Paige from her back.

"Hello, I'm Drake Hale I'm the boyfriend of this beautiful young lady. And this one is my twin brother, Derek Hale, the third wheel of the group."

Derek tried to protest about being called a third wheel however, Paige's cousin spoke first before he got the chance to do so.

"Hi, this is me, Cassandra Cain. The prettiest cousin in the world."

The blond girl, named Cassandra, introduced herself with a random signature pose and a toothy smile.

Drake chuckled at her greetings and talked to her for a bit before he took Paige away and left Cassandra to his brother.

"Are they always like this?"

While staring at her cousin, who is flirting with Drake, Cassandra asked Derek, who took a few seconds before he answered with.

"At first no, but it got worse after the first two weeks and now they're like that. It's as if they're made for each other and can't be separated ever since they became a thing."

Cassandra giggled at how Derek describe her cousin and his brother's relationship.

She's happy for Paige that she was able to find someone she loved and were able to moved on about her father's death, and at the same time she's also envious of her because of that.

"So do you want to help me bring my stuff into my aunt's car?"

"Why not?"

Cassandra asked and Derek calmly agreed, but in the inside, his heart is beating faster than an average heartbeat should do.

While talking and helping Cassandra, Derek is using all his willpower to calm himself down or else, he might suddenly shift into a werewolf.

After a while, Parcia and Katherine finished talking and were about to part ways once again.

On the other hand, Cassandra and Derek finished loading her stuffs into Parcia's car too.

"Listen to your aunt Parcia and behave yourself while you stay with them okay?"

Katherine said to her daughter before she kissed her forehead.

"Yes mommy."

Cassandra answered and hug Katherine before she went inside Parcia's car.

"Please take care of her and thank you."

Katherine said to Parcia, who nodded with a smile, before she drove away.

"Kids, get in the car and we'll go home now!"

After the white car disappear from her sight, Parcia shouted out to call the two lovers from afar.

Drake and Paige went back and were about to get inside the car but then.

Drake noticed his brother's unsteady heartbeats.

Derek is currently standing at the far side of the car while holding at the guard rails of the road, trying to calm himself down.

"Paige, get in first. I need to talk to my brother."

Paige nodded before she got in the car and went to talk to her cousin once again while Drake approach Derek and said.

"Hey Derek, you're okay right?"

"Drake, I'm losing control, I can't stop it."

Derek said as his heart beat continue to rise, his breathing became unsteady while his eyes glowed golden yellow.

"Alright alright. Let's do this, Derek look at me."

Derek did as he was told so and stared at him.

Seeing that Derek is looking at him now, Drake spoke once again.

"Now follow me okay? Breathe in... breathe out... Okay once again, Breathe in..."

Drake tried to calm Derek down through breathing but Derek shook his head and said.

"No.. it's not... working."

He had a hard time finishing his words as his fangs began to appear, the only thing that's preventing him from shifting is his willpower.

"What? That's weird, it always works on you... Maybe you need a bal-"

"Drake!!"

At his twin's nonessential words, Derek couldn't help but yell.

"Boys, we need go!"

And a second later, Parcia's voice sounded from the back, making Drake turn his head towards her and yell too.

"Just a second!"

After gaining a little bit more time, Drake focused on his brother once again and said.

"Alright, Derek. Look at my eyes."

His voice sounded dominant making Derek looked up and when he saw his brother's eyes, it was glowing in the color of red.

"Calm down!!"

Drake said in a low and firm voice which calmed the beta down.

Derek's breathing became normal, his eyes returned to color green and the fangs became a normal teeth once again.

"Now that's more like it."

Drake said before he patted his brother's shoulder and started to go to the car.

"Let's go, we need to go home as soon as possible."

When Derek heard that, he released a deep breath and quickly followed him.
