Chapter 5

"You heard me clearly son." My father sternly said.

"I'm not a child anymore father, you can't just get me married to anyone without asking for my consent." I demanded.

"That's why I set up this wedding, because she's not just anyone. As you can see their family is next in line to ours." He smirked.

"This isn't marriage but a deal between both families and I'm not going to be part of it." I angrily walked away from the hall.

"If you leave this room, I'll make you regret it." My father said.

"The only thing you haven't done is kill me, and you have your reasons for that, so do as you please, I'm not scared of you anymore." I left without caring about what my father would do to me afterwards.

Zazzu's pov

"How dare he disobey me!" I muttered. "And that in front of everyone."

"You said he would agree, then why didn't he obey you, forget it you can't even tame your own son."The Beta said.

His words infuriated me and all I wanted to do was kill him that instant but he's still useful to me. "I'll kill him when I no longer need him." I smirked.

"Enjoy the party, everyone." I said before heading to my bedroom.

Diane's pov

"So two-eyed man was Zazzu, the one I've been hearing of since I was a child." I scoffed. "He is just as scary as people said he was, no wonder he had two coloured eyes." 

"But those eyes seemed very familiar to me, like I've seen them before." I pondered.

I bent to pick up the knife I used to hurt Ryan earlier, when the ring fell off the breast pocket of my shirt. "Hey beautiful ring, let's see how you'll look on my finger." I slid the ring into my left wedding finger, it didn't fit at first but it suddenly fitted and it wouldn't come off my finger which felt quite strange.

"Found your mate?" Hazel asked standing closely behind me, staring at the ring.

"You frightened me, you know right?" I gasped.

"Sorry, didn't mean to." She said smiling.

"Where's Mika?" I asked while my eyes searched around for her.

"Probably stealing cookies at the event, don't worry she'll be here soon." Hazel laughed.

"By the way, where did you get the ring? Do you have a boyfriend" She asked winking at me. 

"Nah, I don't." "Can I ask you something?" I requested.

"Go on." "Actually, a guy tried to kiss me today and I injured him with a knife for trying to do so, did I do the right thing?"

"Do you like him?" I asked raising a brow.

"Hell No!" I responded. "Then you did nothing wrong." "He's an asshole, even though he likes a girl, he doesn't just goes up and kiss her." she said.

"I know, right?" I scoffed.

Ryan's pov

"Marriage?" I scoffed at the pathetic thought of my father.

"I would love to get married but not to someone I just met. As far as she's my father's choice, I'm never going to accept her." I thought as I walked into my room to find Maidservant Suzan sitting there.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I heard what happened in the hall so I rushed over to see if you're doing okay." She replied. "I'm fine, I'm used to being tormented by my father anyway." I pulled her in for a hug. "Why don't you want to get married? Don't you like her?"She asked. "She isn't the one. I didn't feel anything when I was close to her. I want to get married to my mate I don't want to have a forced mate." I replied. 

"Is that so? Or do you have someone you like?" She playfully asked. "No, I don't like anyone." I said rolling my eyes.

"You hungry?" She asked smiling. "How did you know that? Urgh! I'm starving." I smiled back at her. "I'll go get something for you." She winked.

She left the room and I kept pondering, "why does he want me to marry the Beta's daughter? What are they scheming?"

But the annoying thoughts of my father vanished when I remembered how I almost kissed that girl. "Funny enough I don't even know her name yet and I wanted to kiss her? Urgh, mehnn, this is fucked up."

"What does she think of me now? She definitely most think that I just want to use her." "Wait! What's wrong with me? Am I falling for her? A mere maid?"

I just kept thinking of her the whole time because she was the first girl that had ever caught my attention. "Mehn, I need rest." I said before laying on the bed and had a nap.

Zazzu's pov

I came back to the hall after a long time and the party was still on. "Have you talked to your son?" The Beta whispered to me.

"I had an important call, I haven't seen him for a while." I responded.

"If he doesn't accept this marriage today, the deal is off." He said walking out on me.

"How dare he! He's such an ungrateful soul, I was the one who put him in the position he is today and he dared to threaten me." I angrily thought.

A maid walked past me and tripped, the drink fell of the tray and onto my robe.

"Are you all blind? I boomed. "Why are all the maids spilling juice on me?".

"I'm sorry my Lord, please spare me." She begged. "I refuse to let it go this time, your punishment is death." I ordered.

"Your highness, have mercy." She weeped. "You'll die at my hands today." I said looking directly into her eyes. I used the powers in my eyes to strangle her. 

"Your high.. please, help." She pleaded.

Suddenly a strong force came in between my grip and pulled her away, making me to break free from her. A bright light shone across the entire room and a girl waled passed through the light. Her eyes sparkled with a blue magnificent light which knocked me down immediately I looked at her.

"How is this possible? I stuttered moving away from where the light was.
