Tales of Immortals, Demons, and Gods

In the Upper Heavens, the Space-Time Immortal had gone into hiding after acquiring a weapon. All the experts of the Upper Heavens felt that the Space-Time Immortal was preparing a big move. However, it was impossible for them to pass through the restrictions of the realms and travel to the lower realm to acquire the Temporal Demon Spirit Book. The Celestial Immortal of the Upper Realm used his special artifacts to gaze into the Lower Realm to find the Temporal Demon Spirit Book. He found the new master of the Temporal Demon Spirit Book, Nie Li. After gazing into Nie Li's destiny, he realized that Nie Li was a future helper groomed by the Space-Time Immortal's Spirit within the Temporal Demon Spirit Book. Alan Semmens

"…You should come out. It's not very good to have brought me here and keep me waiting," the human spoke with a rather calm expression.

A voice resounded in the limbo, "Do you know where we are?"

"No. But you will be in a lot of trouble. So, why don't you let me go and tell me why you abducted me while you still have the chance?" The man spoke rather confidently.

"Alan Semmens. The Gold Medalist of Stanford Law University and one of the best lawyers in the American Law Industry. That's your profile right now," the Celestial Immortal spoke in a manner easy for Alan to understand.

"If you have investigated that much, you should also know anybody who has kidnapped me has paid dearly. So, I give you one last chance to let me go, and we can talk it out," Alan spoke calmly.

"…Haha. Humans are always very amusing while threatening," the Celestial Immortal finally chuckled as he heard Alan's final warning.

Alan raised his brow at those words and asked, "Humans? You don't consider yourself human?"

"Yes. I am not one after all," Celestial Immortal spoke calmly.

"Really? What are you then?" Alan was a bit amused by those words as he asked those questions.

"An Immortal. But you won't believe me unless I show you proper proof, right?" The Celestial God asked a rhetorical question.

Before Alan could even answer, he felt his body trembling a bit before it passed through something akin to a portal.

When he passed through that portal, he returned to Earth. The time of the entire Earth had frozen, and Alan saw his collapsed body in the middle of the road.

His eyes finally widened a bit as he wondered, "What is going on? Am I dreaming?"

"You sure as hell aren't dreaming, Alan Semmens. I am sure you understand who you are talking to. I have powers you humans like to call Godlike. Do you want me to turn lead into gold, or will this proof suffice?" The Celestial God asked with a hint of sarcasm in his question.

Alan soon regained his composure and asked, "I see…What does a Godlike Entity want with me?"

The Celestial Immortal immediately responded, "I need your assistance to deal with a crucial issue. Will you help me?"

Alan soon asked, "What do I stand to gain?"

The Celestial Immortal raised his brow at that question and retorted, "…You are actually negotiating with me even after knowing that I am an Immortal with Godlike powers?"

Alan rolled his eyes and answered, "You can't resolve that issue with your power must mean it's out of your hands. I don't know if I am the first person you contacted for this job or if there are others, but I should have some value if an Immortal with Godlike powers came to me asking for help. So, I want to know what I stand to gain if I do agree to help you."

The Celestial Immortal was very satisfied with his answer and spoke jubilantly, "Good. Your ability to regain and maintain your composure is beyond impressive. It seems I truly chose the right person for this job."

"Very well. What you stand to gain from this job is a chance to see another world. This will be akin to a supernatural or a fantasy world for you, and you will have a chance to cultivate this magic-like power," The Celestial Immortal finally answered Alan's question.

Alan thought for some moments before speaking, "You mean I will cultivate the same godlike power you can and reach your level?"

"If you train hard enough, yeah. But that's not the point. Are you willing or not?" The Celestial Immortal asked.

Alan then asked one final question, "What will happen to my life here in this world? Will I die? If so, then it's a no. If I die now, I will lose those seven cases left and it will become a taint on my record."

"…Nobody will care about your record in the other world," The Celestial Immortal spoke with a blank expression.

"I will!" Alan sharply responded.

The Celestial Immortal sighed and soon spoke, "I will keep the time in this realm frozen. After you accomplish your mission, you can return and take over from this point. You can easily resolve those seven cases then."

Alan fell silent upon hearing those words. It seemed that he was in a deep thought. The Celestial Immortal was getting a bit nervous about hearing his response. Even though he had seen Alan's entire life, he still found it hard to guess what Alan would choose.

Soon, there was a clever smirk on Alan's face.

"…You can't talk to me after this, right? Is that why you aren't waiting for me to finish my cases? Or are you really that hard-pressed for time and will die soon? Hmm. It's one or the other. I will figure it out eventually," Alan spoke with a smile.

The Celestial Immortal's eyes widened slightly upon hearing those words. He didn't expect Alan to come to this conclusion so soon.

"You can stop trying to raise your value by displaying your intelligence to me. I have already seen your entire life," The Celestial Immortal spoke with a deadpan tone.

"Heh. I guess you saw through my little trick," Alan had a sheepish look on his face. He was truly testing this Celestial Immortal.

"Alright. I can't deny that I am not intrigued by the concept of exploring another world and gaining this godlike power. So, I accept your offer. What is the mission?" Alan asked.

"…Good. Let me take your spirit to a more comfortable place where we can talk," The Celestial Immortal spoke as Alan's spirit returned to Limbo.

"You really lost me if you think comfortable means a dark hollow place," Alan spoke while rolling his eyes in disdain.

"Really?" A voice full of disdain resounded in the entire void as a great golden palace appeared in that limbo out of thin air.

This was an illusion, but an illusion so realistic that it easily fooled Alan's senses entirely.

Alan smirked upon entering that Golden Palace and spoke, "This is what I am talking about. This is great!"
