Chapter 89: Wrestle of the Empty-handed

Lila can feel herself getting stretched. The vine is spreading her arms and feet. The quake from the church scared Lila. Her desperation to open a portal and save her friends is not enough.

She started to sync her move with the immensity convulse that aided her to utter a prayer when the leaves covering her mouth slipped.

" Our Father who is in the Highest. We call upon Your defence and protection upon us. Hear my cries and pleading. Let Your refuge be upon our family and team. I thank Your gracious rescue. Amen. "

A portal opened above Nevi and Hexel who was about to be crushed by the bell. Lehi and Ophir got sucked in from below when a bulb hit Ophir's head and the cieling almost smashed Lehi flat with the floor and broken glasses. Lila was able to gather the team at her location. Hexel immediately sliced the vine and Ophir caught Lila.

"Where are Kiel and Natalina?" Nevi inquired.

"They fell from the cliff. I am sorry! I was not strong enough to aid them."

Lehi cried out as she stood up from Ophir's hand

The team assured Lehi that it was not her fault. Even if Lila had made it in time to open a portal the enemy can just shift the movement of Natalina and Kiel's body. Lila started to moan in pain when her belly got twisted. Blood leaked from her womb. Lila wept when she saw the unborn child within her got consumed by the rough surface. Lehi hugged Lila whose outcry vibrated through out the jungle.

Nevi instantly carried Lila when she lost her cognizance. Hexel and Lehi started to aid Lila. Hexel checked the life she unawarely concieved but the bleeding was unstoppable. Lehi used her oil and prayed as her tears damp her face and put a slit on her voice.

"Heavenly Father who have breathed life upon us. I declare and claim protection and healing upon the mother and child. Please Lord, We call on unto You desperately to help us. May we found favour in Your sight, Amen."

Lehi's oil lifted up Lila's body. The oil covered her waist and her lower member. Nevi caught Lila just in time.

Despite the pernicious situation Ophir needed to act as a leader and can't get blinded by his emotion.

"Lehi and Hexel will get back to the palace to cure Lila. Nevi and I will jump off the cliff in search of Natalina and Kiel. For now let's have the hope that the enemies won't harm Urchin."

Kiel and Natalina fell on a swamp with foams and bubbles. Kiel felt something tug underneath his ankle when he caught a glimpse of an insanely double sized eel. Kiel and Natalina swam like there was no tomorrow. When they got out of the water, Natalina stepped on something soft and lengthy when they both looked down, and saw a whirling earthworm. Natalina and Kiel screamed as they run away like crazy.

Nevi and Ophir got quivered by a loud scream coming from the cliff.

"What's with that scream? It sounds like a woman being hauled over." Nevi commented. Ophir just sweatdrop. It was Kiel's ear-jerking scream whenever a cockroach get into his parameter.

Gardenia saw Lehi and Hexel approaching in a furious manner.

When Gardenia heard the bad news she summoned the Duchess and the Elders. Cyrus is still on his way from Acsents.

Gardenia paced as they waited for the Duchess to arrive.

Nevi uplift his hand to the sky and prayed.

"Our Almighty Armour, Let Your righteousness be clothed upon us. Bestow us the courage to jump off this unknown pit. Let us land unharmed, Amen."

Nevi got a helmet with silver feather. A breastplate with golden wings grew from his back. His lower member got hugged by a sackcloth. His feet got winged with acute transparent wings. He extended his hand to Ophir and they held hand as they jump off the cliff. It can be rated as a romantic scene between lovers but Ophir and Nevi had no option at the moment. Their main goal is to find Natalina and Kiel.

Kiel climb up a tree and Natalina hiked a huge rock. The ground was full of wild mouse and worms. As a person who got sheltered from the wild life this place is hell and torture for the two. Nevi and Ophir caught the eel and tied it like a ribbon. Nevi blew the ground with his wings, the worms and insect got wipe out. A earthquaking scream shoke the whole place. Nevi and Ophir followed the source of the uproar and saw Kiel got sorrounded by beetles. Natalina is enveloped by centipedes.

Nevi punched the tree to shake off the beetles. Ophir had his eyebrows furrowed. Nevi flew toward Natalina and saved her from the poisonous fangs. Nevi felt wasted for putting a cool armour just to annihilate some insects and bugs.

Natalina prayed for an air carraige without a pegasus. Nevi ended up pulling the carraige like jewel on air. Nevi's wings zoom them in to the palace. Just when they landed on the gate, the Kings's wheel halted. They all rushed in to check on Lila. Kiel heared the news from Ophir on their way. Kiel felt dumb from screaming because of the bugs when his wife saved the whole team.

The Duchess and Lehi came out from the chamber. The Duchess news break the heart of all the people within the palace.

"It was too late. We did all we can but it seems that the enemy purposely inflicted some pain upon her body. The emotional distress made it worst. It was like someone caught the news of her unborn child before we did."

The team checked on Lila then excused themselves to leave Kiel. He enlaced his hands with Lila. Her face looked worn out. Her wrist had some bruises and her composure got paled. Kiel silently sob. He blamed himself for putting his wife on a rough spot. If he did not allowed his hot headed personality he could have protected his wife from the enemy.
