A reason

Crackkk!

Thunder rained down-

Straight at the Heroes from another world.

Smoke dust and debris-

People started running around-

Chaos-

"Who would be stupid enough?" Maria mumbled.

A bit of her clothe singed- otherwise perfectly unharmed.

"Axel-" A breath- cutting through the smoke a young man jumped on top of them- spiraling down with his sword.

Clang!

Sparks!

Alfred blocked him with his axe- standing-

His feet dug down a bit into the road but he just stood there-

"What are you trying to do, kid?" he said.

"Kill you for your crimes. You destroyed my village!" Spiraling midair- the young man swung swiftly- crashing his feet down Alfred's torso-

Thud!

Dust went flying-

The man didn't bother blocking- he just stood there- taking the hit.

Like a steel tank-

But after taking the hit- he grabbed the young man's feet- "I see- my condolences." And nailed him down like a hammer-

On the ground-

Splattering-

His head-

Blood spilling everywhere-

Yet- the young man- the man just glared- some broken teeth- breath hectic- yet glaring.

"Still conscious? Very well- Get up-" Alfred said, letting his feet go. "Or you can't?"

"Oh, he looks delicious-" Maria said-

"Yeah, not bad. I wouldn't mind having him myself-" Marcus grinned.

"Stay out of this-" Alfred took out both his axes. Cracked his neck, grinned- eyes bloodshot.

And the young man?

He got up-

Glowing blue-

An aura- of blue.

Evaporating like mist-

And though he didn't have a shield- he still held his sword in one hand- and posed like he had one. "I will kill you-" For someone who seemed to be on the verge of death, he was oddly calm. Eyes sharp- glare intensifying. "I 'will' kill you."

"Bring it-"

"ARGGHHH!!!!" Roaring- the young man swung vertically!

Slosh-

Yet-

His right hand-

Just fell off.

"AGHHHH!!!" Screaming- he stared at his bleeding arm- eyes leaking- picking up the sword with his left- glaring up-

A swing and a miss!

Cluck-

He fell back down-

Leaking-

Blood.

Red-

Blood.

Alfred no longer grinning- put his axes back. "What a disappointment." He walked back- "You can have him if you want to-" He'd lost interest.

Maria shrugged. "I'd love to but he's probably not going to live long- and I'm not really a fan of blood play."

"I am-" Marcus grinned- taking a step but- "Oh- Only level 11?" A snort- and a hand on his chin. "He made you use both hands with just that?" Mouth opening- a lick of his lips-

"What? 11?" Alfred paused. "You're serious?"

"No doubt-" Marcus took a step forward-

"Please-" A girl begged, quickly moving closer to the young man. "Please- spare him- he's lost everything. Everyone- please don't take him." A white robe- face covered-

"I'm sorry little girl but-" Marcus smiled- definitely not going to give up-

But-

Now that he looked carefully-

The two were gone- leaving behind some afterimages-

And then- just-

The blood-

They were just gone…

"Maria, do a reverse trace-" Marcus said- glaring. "I'm gonna kill those two. But that boy-" Grin resurfacing.

"We don't time." She smiled. "And it's DeMaria- Marc…" her tone went thicker with each word.

"If he's really 11 and that glare was no lie-" Alfred's face lit up for a second. "We'll see him again. Besides, wouldn't you want to see him last a bit longer?"

A mild chuckle. "Alright- but- next time he shows up- he's all mine."

"There you go-" Maria shrugged. "Creating problems for the future."

And though normally they would have destroyed the whole town-

They didn't.

After all-

Now they had a reason to keep this place intact…
