Tainted truth

In this story you will follow Jonas Foll. This poor soul, along with six others, has been transported from earth to a world of demons and dragons etc etc, you all know it. Where this story is different from the rest is that Jonas is not the one with the worst ranking ability, instead he's the one with the best ranking one in the hero party (otherwise known as the 'leading hero' in the kingdom of Hestia). However, there is somehow another hero with an ability of the same rank. These two should have to compete about who becomes the leader. Unfortunately Jonas' ability will slowly drive him more and more to madness. Let's hope he does not do anything crazy. Let's hope the ones around him don't do anything that could make that happen.

Kent and Lisa

Well, seems like I'm still inside this world.

Truly sleeping like this is not really normal in dreams so this means it is all the more likely that this is reality just as I assume.

The last reasonable guess that could rationalize this situation is that I am in a coma now. But I have never heard of people in comas remembering about their life before the coma while inside of the coma.

So even this guess seems slightly far-fetched.

All the more reason to really take this world seriously.

"Hey Jonas, good morning! Have you slept well?"

"Yes Kent I have, thank you. How did you sleep Lisa?"

"YAAAWN... pretty good. Not as good as I hoped but hey, still got like 5 hours of sleep."

"Alright that's good. Let's check up on the others."

I am sharing a room with Lisa and Kent...

We only have one girl in the party and there are only two rooms. So we voted and this is the result of that vote.

I am happy with Lisa, she seems nice enough and Kent is also very considerate.

But I still dislike the guy.

Maybe I'm the problem though. He really tries his best.

Anyway

We walk to the other room and Kent asks "Guys did you all sleep well?"

"Yes, thank you"

"Pretty good yeah"

"Yeah"

"No not really, but nothing to complain about."

"Alright, in that case we should get something to eat and maybe talk about the type of training we are going to choose. I think we need to be very particular about it so that we can work as good as possible as a team." Kent always has so many smart thing to say.

But I do agree. "Sure thats a good idea. But where do we eat?"

"Oh thats easy, the king told me last night that we can come to cafeteria. When we walk to the throne room we pass a big red door and we just need to in there!"

Wait the king told him this? When did that happen? Is the leading hero already selected then?

Let's just ask him.

"Hey Kent, that's nice and all but when did the king tell you this and why only you? I'm not trying to accuse you of anything but it's weird if he only told you right?"

"Oh he told me as well!"

Lisa? I can understand Kent but why would he also tell Lisa?

"What about the others?"

"Nope didn't tell us."

Thats doesnt make sense! "Isn't that weird guys? Why would the king specifically tell something so insignificant to only two members of the party?"

"I think you're overthinking to be honest Jonas. Lisa and I just happened to be walking around the castle a bit to explore the place and we ran into him."

Seems like our leading hero has already found a female lead to his story. I hope this won't make her become annoying as well because I was just starting to like Lisa a little.

But still, my intuition is telling me something is off.

Let's just keep an eye on them.

"Alright that makes sense. Let's eat then I guess."

By the way. I'm starting to get used to it, but everyone keeps flinching when I talk except for Kent.

Why are they so unreasonably fearfull? They know I have to actually activate the ability right?

...

*The cafeteria*

"What is this, this food tastes awesome! And I feel so energetic now after eating it!"

Wow. This is the first time Manhof (I'm referring to the Clarks by their last name now to avoid confusion) has been so enthusiastic aboht anything since we arrived!

But I must agree the food is very good.

Perfect for a conversation about training.
