Rescue

Kai wakes up in his bed and checks the time this is right about the time the door swings open his blankets are flung across the room and Saito's voice starts yelling at them to get up instead it's a light knock.

"Kai it's Ava."

Rex gets up and opens the door, "Hey."

Ava's face falls watching the usual overly excited flirt look down in the dumps.

"I was asked to deliver this to you."

Rex takes the invitation and steps back into the room closing the door opening the invitation he rips it up realising it's from Roku.

"I knew you'd do that, hurry up and get to Kim's lab Saito woke up."

The note turns to ash and they bump into Chinami at the gate with Roku.

"What is he doing here?" Rex points a finger and Chinami glares back.

"Deals a deal we promised he'd join us if he helped us and he did besides the lab is crowded with military guns we'll need someone to be our eyes and ears from the outside turning off the camera's and whatever all we do is go in and find Saito and Setsuno's bodies."

"Are we going to ignore the part where he failed the last time?"

Chinami ignores Rex's comment following Kai who's already turning the next corner going to the train station.

"Unless you boys can walk through walls I think there's one more piece of the puzzle you're missing." Akali holds up principle P's car keys wiggling them around.

Kai snatches them out of her hands demanding she turns back.

"You need me out there."

Kai glares up at her sitting on the school fence, "We don't need to pile up the body bags just stay inside and cover for us."

Akali snatches the keys from Kai looking him in the eyes, "I'm the only one with the odds to get in and get out alive if you never left me behind we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place.

"I'm going to rescue Saito either I tag along or we waste time arguing back and forth. Your call."

Kai clenches his jaw taking the keys back throwing them at Roku, "Fine, if you die you stay dead don't haunt me because of your stupidity."

The doctor looks puzzled by Saito's sudden scales that are hardening, "He took a bullet to the heart and yet he's still alive, what is his ability?"

Saito groans waking up rolling over his body hitting the floor Roku's telepathic message has a major migraine side effect. He takes a deep breath and uses the last of energy to roar.

Xavier shudders before sitting up, "Saito."

Ken gets out of the shower having felt the hairs on his body stand, "What did you say?"

Xavier gets out of bed making Ken rush out of the shower half done and wear whatever he can find following Xavier who shifts rushing to Kim's lab.

Ken calls Jet directing him towards the lab, "Saito's still alive and one thing I know is that we'll find those idiots there don't get in their way this time just back them up."

"Yes sir."

Yu rushes into the room and finds Saito on the floor life less as a corpse should be but now everyone else is also dead there's blood splatter everywhere she rushes to the monitor room rewinding the video feed but the camera keeps showing static.

Chinami taps the computer frustratedly, "Dammit get in closer I can only disrupt the footage I can't destroy it from this distance."

Kai rests an arm on his shoulder, "Do what you can whether we get caught or not Ken will just bail us out of this, what's so important you need to destroy the footage?"

Chinami double clicks and the screen is clear again.

"What the heck was that?" Yu mutters to herself questioning the glitching that was happening to all the computers. Her eyes widen watching Saito wake up his roar summoned a large hurricane that shredded the bodies of everyone in the room before he passed out.

"If they see this Saito will be the perfect fall guy for this entire mess, drive faster."

Rex stabs the seat head in front of him in anger, "It's their fault for poking and prodding at him he should've had the strength to bust himself out and meet us half way instead he's left in there for the cops to turn into a personal play thing."

Roku glares at Rex, "Be careful with that I'm trying to catch Xavier everyone at the Palace was told to find him I think he's about to pass us any second if we can channel his flight the car can fly to the next destination."

Kai stands climbing out through the roof window readying a whip to catch him, "Xavier!"

Xavier follows Kai's voice flying into his arms nearly knocking them off the roof.

"I guess your landings are a bit of a working progress, dragon secured."

Roku stops the car sitting with Xavier in the driver sit holding the stone. "Prepare for a rough landing by the way."

Akali is impressed the car is actually flying Xavier takes the wheel channeling his flight into the staring wheel controlling the cars movements but now the car is moving too fast and no one can focus except for Chinami.

Who's finally close enough to reboot the entire system at the lab unlocking and locking the doors destroying the footage and hacking further into the back up files removing it from the backed up files activating the motion sensors, guns and laser lights.

Akali closes her eyes resting her hands on the roof of the car phasing through the lab gates as Roku takes the wheel from Xavier putting the stone away hitting the breaks.

Chinami smirks, "We now have full control of the labs system split up it's a better strategy than going in guns blazing I can't find Setsuno so you'll have to do a manual search while I look, how will I tell you if I find him?"

Chinami looks surprised to see the lab in person he was too preoccupied while everyone else was worried that a toddler was driving the car.

"Write on this note I'll know instantly and I'll relay the message."

Chinami nods up at Roku getting out of the car to find a secluded spot to work freely.

Akali takes Xavier phasing into the building following him to Saito's whereabouts while the others have to wait for Chinami to open the front door.

"10 seconds before the door locks take a left there's less security and that's where Akali and the naked kid are headed."

Yu wakes up and the laser beam paralyses her again. She can hear footsteps coming her way. Akali jumps over her body and turns back taking of her crop top giving it to Xavier while she takes Yu's shirt.

"Want to trade pants too?" Chinami's voice is heard through the lab intercoms Akali throws a middle finger Xavier looks at his hand and raises the index finger instead.

"Man, Tachibana will kill me for poisoning his kid." She rips the bottom half of Yu's shirt tying it around Xavier making a make shift skirt. "You would've looked so much better as a girl."

Xavier knocks on the door with Saito on the other side unconscious Chinami opens the door. "10 seconds in and out."

"I'm not fast enough." Akali complains to the comms Xavier flies in and out in half the time. "But he can. Where do we find Setsuno?"

Xavier takes in his scent. "Not here."

Chinami writes down on the note and Roku relays the message to Kai and Rex.

"What do you mean he's not here? Where the fuck is he then? A dead body doesn't just up and leave a maximum-security prison." Kai punches the wall.

Rex grabs him and runs.

They find Chinami who refuses to move from his spot until he's checked every inch of the building,

"Dragons nose dragons' instincts I don't buy it I'm sure Setsuno wouldn't either what if there's a floor he can't get to or something? These walls are thick strong enough to break Rex's fists if he tried to punch through there's no way his body isn't in here if they took him with everyone."

Roku checks the time, "They didn't take everyone, Melody isn't here Kudesai isn't here and we basically helped three of them escape the prison let's just get Saito to a hospital we'll worry about that later."

They get in the car driving Saito to the hospital. Rex and Kai decide to check on Yuno. Tori climbs out of the bed sitting on the chair beside her the blanket kicks and Xavier's dragon friend flies around the room.

"Might I add that if anyone asks me about today I'm telling them you kidnapped my son and turned him into a girl." Ken points a finger at Xavier in a crop top and Khaki skirt.

Chinami smirks at Akali as he cat whistles

"Shut up it's not like you saw anything you've never seen before Hinode."

Rex turns his head cocking a brow.

"What did you see?" Kai asks Chinami who smirks only to get elbowed in the nose.

"Ow, all I saw was your flat chest in a sports bra, the hell you acting brand new for?"

Akali kicks him in the nuts walking into Yuno's room crossing her arms pissed off.

"Hey, No chest." Rex teases walking into the room getting flung out by Ken.

"10 feet away from Yuno is where I want to see you at all times."

Rex gets up and flings Ken out, "In case you forgot you weigh as much as a feather to me, stay the hell away from my girlfriend." Rex brushes Yuno's cheek sniffling, "Don't worry my love a true loves kiss shall do the trick."

Yuno opens her eyes, "What about a good night's sleep? That's all I ask for."

Tori yawns climbing into the bed with Yuno they were up all night talking.

Xavier takes his pet sitting on the bed.

"You decided on a name yet?" Yuno asks and he nods.

"Lorry."

Yuno snorts, "What does Lorry mean? I've seen it in one of Roku's books."

Ken smiles, "It means nothing it's the name of the first dragon immortal which makes sense since he's the first and only of his kind."

A nurse and a doctor walk into the room with a man in a red jumpsuit wheeling in an x-ray machine.

"What the hell is that for?" Roku asks panic evident in his face.

"We ran tests yesterday and the results were inconclusive the files kept giving us mixed signals so we decided to drop the ultra sounds and bring this baby in."

"What do you mean by mixed signals?" Kai asks moving out of the way for the man in a jumpsuit to pass through.

"The so called dead baby might be alive if so with her ability we might be able to do something about it."

Roku closes the door, "Who else knows about this?"

The doctor shakes his head, "Just the people in this room we didn't want to raise anyone's expectations, but I'm hopeful." The doctors bright smile pisses off Roku who nods before snapping his neck covering the nurses mouth.

"I'll ask again and give me an honest answer, who else knows what you know?" The terrified female gives the name of the one other person who knows before Roku snaps her neck as well.

"Move and I'll make your death painful." The male stands still closing his eyes having accepted his fate.

Akali jumps back hearing his neck snap, "Well, I'd like to announce that there is no baby and everyone in this room agrees to those terms correct?"

Chinami narrows his eyes, "What is he again? I don't think that book explained the kind of Immortal he is."

Kai chuckles, "Don't worry he's the kind of Immortal that cannot kill anyone not even a human they'll wake up pretty soon and he'll fool them into thinking he brought them back to life and if they tell anyone their dead."

Akali turns her head, "Doesn't that mean Setsuno's alive?"

Rex shrugs his shoulders, "We're not sure if the plants drained the life out of him first or not, just like we didn't know that Connor shot Saito before the witch could finish him off."

Akali cocks a brow confused.

"Look I'll give you the book when I'm done with it, it'll make sense after you read it." Chinami briefs Akali on what he knows so far while the others correct any confusions he has Roku smiles erasing Tori and Xavier's memory before doing the same to the group outside.

Yuno and Ken don't say anything they know it has to be done if too many people know the truth Hiroshima will find out one way or another.

Saito wakes up in a tub after being healed by Yuno who was finally discharged and offered to heal Saito first. "Man am I happy to see that pretty face." Saito walks out of the tub drying himself off giving Yuno a tight hug after getting dressed.

Roku drops off the group at school waving them off with a deviant smile on his face, "You guys are in deep shit."

Akali phases into the school ditching the boys while they sneak in hiding on the roof. Akali waves at them walking into gym class with a bright smile on her face the boys walk in late Saito surprised by everyone calling him a ghost.

"Don't forget that normal people don't live after getting shot." Rex comments, but the look of realisation on Saito's face baffles him, "I can't believe that death is such a foreign concept to you, no wonder you kill without batting an eye."

"Well duh, when we kill someone they usually come back to life to kill you back, but calling me a ghost is highly inappropriate ghosts are way hotter."

Kai and Chinami shriek at the thought of seeing ghosts, "No way, Roku's book had nothing pretty to say about ghosts."

Saito shakes his head, "In real life they're cool if you're cool. Very friendly to people who can understand their loneliness.

"I know a few ghosts I'll take you to a hang out spot sometime you'll love ghosts I promise you, besides next time we can ask them to sit in while we wonder off there's this cool thing that ghosts do that would come in handy next time we feel like skipping."

Chinami checks the time for the fourth time since gym started Rex cocks a brow looking at him.

"We'll talk later concentrate you're stretching the wrong way." Akali trips when she sees Yu walking into the gym hall.

Kai snorts waving at her the same way she did earlier.

"Principle Pete these students broke into a prison." Yu tries to make her case, but all her claims are circumstantial.

"Our students were on campus all day today we can even prove it, can you?"

"No, but that boy was in our custody."

"In a prison! Please state his crime? Because it sounds to me like you were holding an innocent boy in your custody for no reason and went so far as to fake his death."

Yu leans in looking Principle Pete in the eyes, "I know I sound crazy, but I swear to you he was dead."

"Maybe his heart just stopped or maybe his scales protected him from the gun shot their impenetrable."

Yu sighs leaving she can't prove any of her claims without evidence and no matter how hard she tries to retrieve the lost footage it's all fruitless. She walks into the station and finds a new recruit at the desk, "What's your ability short cake?"

The short male shows her his card. "I can sense danger from miles away this city has the largest crime rate and I was brought here to help out anyway I can." Yu walks into her office checking her emails.

The PSB are requesting a meeting she hasn't been doing her job adequately considering the number of murders in her city. "This is ridiculous."

Yuno sits down after healing Jet and Dean, "What happened?"

Dean stretches, "We were told to be the boys back up so that's what we did we went in there and took out as many of those officers as we could, but got jumped by a red head in a red mask we're lucky Kim was the one who found us either wise we'd be mistaken for escapees.

"The boys didn't see you did they?"

Dean shakes his head, "No! how are you holding up though?"

Yuno stands up, "I don't know honestly I don't think the shock has settled in yet." Yuno goes to her room to be alone after healing them.

Ken walks into Yuno's room to find her lying in bed watching Tori sleep.

"Dad I want ice cream." Xavier shouts standing behind Ken.

"Find Setsuno."

Xavier tugs at his father's pants, "He's not here."

Yuno buries her face under the sheets Ken sighs he completely forgot and didn't realise how much he'd miss the guy he was like Xavier's second father in his own way and Yuno's best friend she might not be grieving the loss of her child, but no one knew him like her.

"Mind waiting a bit for me buddy? I promise I'll get you that ice cream just give me a minute." Ken sits on the side of the bed slowly dropping the blanket, "Yuno, talk to me."

She sits up and looks him in the eyes he gives her a hug the moment they start to water, "He can't be gone Ken he promised he'd get me a car with his first pay check you know."

Ken smiles, "I know I was there when he made that promise."

Mitsuko walks past the door and picks Xavier up getting him ice cream from the kitchen.

"Is she okay?" Maki asks worried.

Mitsuko shakes his head he overheard her crying, "She's devastated it might take a while before she's okay."

"I don't know what hurts more losing the child or losing Setsuno, it's so sad I wonder why such bad things happen to good people."

"I believe that everything happens for a reason, the best I can do is make her feel better through my culinary dishes."

Ken walks into the room and sighs.

"Need anything boss?"

He shakes his head, "Make something for the kids I doubt Yuno is in any mood to eat anything, is Sensen here?" Mitsuko shakes his head. "Alright, if she comes through let me know."

"Yes sir."
