Evil Lies Within Us All

Soon after the incident. We didn't hear the woman's voice again. It was then I noticed Anna move. Mark followed suit and I did the same. The Labyrinth was foggy so we needed to stay close to see each other in order to avoid being separated

"That voice you heard now is the one that controls this Labyrinth. People call her The Owner. No one has seen her face before and anyone that saw it has never lived to tell the tale. To top it off, she's one of The Jinx Lower Echelons. I have no idea how to beat this Labyrinth."

Anna said with so much frustration.

"Have you tried passing it before.?"

"Yes Aria and no matter how many times I try I just can't seem to reach anywhere I just keep going round and back to where I came from. It's almost impossible."

"So if we get to the end of this maze then what" Mark said.

" That is IF we get to the end."

"We'll get there Anna no need to panick"

It was then I noticed the were fading away from my range of vision fast. We were separating and worst of it is that we had no idea.

"Hold my hand"

A voice at my back told me. It sounded almost like Mark so I just concluded it was him. What I didn't know was that it wasn't Mark.

"Follow me come on we will make it out of here. "

I followed the strange Mark deeper into the fog.

"Mark where are we going. I can't see a thing."

But he didn't respond. It was then I realized I wasn't following Mark as he would always reply me, no matter how stupid my statement sounded.

"Hold my hand. Hold my hand. Hold my hand."

Whatever was it that gripped my hand held in tight and refused to let go.

" No your not Mark. Who are you? leave me alone!"

"Hold my hand. Hold my hand."

The figure just kept in repeating it over and over again.

it was then I noticed someone tap me at the back. Already in shock and fear I turned back to see what was happening. It was Mark. The real Mark.

"Aria are you okay. "

"Yeah. I'm fine. What was that?!"

"Not what, who." Anna said butting in from nowhere.

"It is something that is most feared by people that visit here. It is the main reason most people forget their way back and wander forever in here. It's called Evil's Wisp. Get into the dense part of it and there is no coming back."

"Wow. If The Owner is just her underline , How powerful would the Jinx Witch be?"

"Oh no she's powerful Aria. Very extraordinary if you ask me. But nothing I can't handle."

Anna boasted with pride.

"So your telling me if we leave you one on one you'll beat her.?"

"Of course Aria. Besides she never fights anyone one on one as it's her weakness. To do so she has to take time to prepare before heading into combat. What is powerful about her is her indispense. Worldly Knowledge."

"Worldly Knowledge?."

Mark asked.

" yeah. It grants the user wisdom about the laws that governs the world and gives them ways to defy those laws without paying a price."

The were talking when I saw a person pass by in the Labyrinth.

"Mark Mark look" I whispered

"What is it?! can't you see I'm gaining information." He said in an outrageous voice.

"Aria is right Mark Look. A strange figure is coming our way, fast. Quick take Anna and hide. I'll be with you when this is all over."

"You seem to forget Anna. I'm actually stronger than you."

" No your not. Just do as I say. if you get lost just keep on heading straight. The Labyrinth may be in constant motion but the entrance and exit should always be the same. Try head straight. Cut through as you approach any form of obstacle. I'll catch up to you."

"Okay. Don't die on me Anna. I hope to see you one the other side."

"I can't go down Mark. Not that easily."

After she finished her statement, I and Mark decided to head straight towards a path without a map of the place. I wasn't sure how it would turn out. I learnt once in Sky Camp that the shortest route to anyplace is straight and I'm guessing it's what she's trying to achieve. Everything was going smoothly until Mark and I got to a certain place in the Labyrinth. The Smell of the place was too pungent. After the pungent smell, I looked at Mark and what I saw shocked me. He looked like a living corpse.

"Mark, is that you?"

" It is Aria. who else would it be."

I wasn't sure I just ran the other way until I could no longer see anyone or anything. I had already been lost in the fog. I could feel my body shiver from fear; My greatest actually. I was scared of being left alone in the dark. My mind turned on me in no time and I started hallucinating about creatures that weren't even there. The just kept creeping me out. I thought at the moment I would literally die of fear. I fainted though. A few minutes later, I came through only to see myself in a bed. Someone sat down at the table positioned at the right side of the room. I could see a person sitting down in a chair. but I couldn't see her face. I knew it was a female figure but definitely not Anna. She didn't look like her.

" Oh it seems you have awakened. Here take this. It will help with the migraine."

"which migraine?" I thought, as I wasn't having headaches. But after she said it, I could feel intense surge of pain in my head.

"Who are you?"

" Oh yes I'm the one that will decide whether or not you leave this place alive. I am known as the god of this Labyrinth. I am The Owner.
