9 The Mage Of Mazes

Those words struck me deep. What was I thinking getting into the pod? what possibility was there that I'm was going to have an adventure and then it hit me.

"Yes I know but at least it will be worth the fun. I know it will be. I hope."

She smiled at me and glided into a soft chuckle.

"You better bet your life on this. There's no going back okay?"

"Okay"

It was here I saw Mark enter the room. He was looking like he was back at Sky Camp; the aura that you need to find what you had lost, quick.

"Anna quick we don't have much time. Where do we go from here?" he asked.

"We head North East. The ground you are currently on is my territory so we are safe but if you're looking for the Six Seconds probably best we start heading there."

"Couldn't we just follow North West or even north itself because it's shorter. Why waste precious time on a stressful journey." I said looking rather lazy. I didn't know how far we were about to trek and I had no clue of where we were going so I just decided to go straight. North that is. I mean, the shortest road is straight.

"Oh no dear that place isn't safe I suggest you listen to my opinion."

"May I ask why it isn't?"

Sigh "It's not safe in ANY direction but I chose North East because it's least dangerous. To the North you have a black hole at the center. It is what is keeping this world in balance. To reach ANOTHER Six Second Territory you would have to cross it or go round it. That's why I mentioned North East.

"You still haven't explained the other direction"

" To the North West you have the Number four closest to evolution ,Zero His Territory is almost indomitable, even for me. It's best you keep him there. North East is the safest because it is the territory of the jinx witch; one of the Six Seconds."

"How on Earth is that possibly safe there is no way that can be safe in the opposite direction is number four why not just go through instead of going into another Second Territory."

"His indispense is Absolute Zero. It gives him the ability to make the temperature of a place drop to the extent that molecules and atoms in the particular area stops moving. That means we can't pass through as we will die from hyperthermia and there fore I suggest we head for the labyrinth in the North East.

Any questions!?"she said looking furious. I knew the questions I asked were a little bit out of line but I just didn't care.

"No ma'am"

"Good we head North East."

"I heard you mention labyrinth?"

Mark said innocently.

"Oh yes the labyrinth is a puzzle of a place. It has been said to have no end. It leads to nowhere. You will just keep going around in circles. But if you're lucky you get to die before you run mad."

She said smiling psychotically

"How is it less dangerous than the Absolute Zero.

"At least you don't get to die of hyperthermia."

She was really getting in my nerves this time.

"Alright alright that's enough. Aria listen to Anna. She has more experience in this world and may just be the key to your survival. She won't endanger us and I'm guessing she knows why."

"Okay I will listen.....but why won't she harm us?" I said noticing the sarcasm he said late.

"I'm bound to him by immortality."

She said.

"What does that mean."

"It means I can't die in exchange for that if any harm befalls him I will also feel the pain but the same can't be said if I feel pain."

"Oh no I'm so sorry I had no idea. Mark was that really necessary.?!"

" Yes Aria. You see I don't usually have my eyes on her ball the time so if she decides to escape what would you have me do at that moment?"

no response

"Good so in the morning we head North East Aria, No further questions asked."

The night had passed and we were about to experience dawn when I heard a loud noise.

"Arise sunshines we have to keep moving now. come in chop chop we don't have all day.!"

After all the disturbance, We prepared and were on our way to the labyrinth. No one talked on the way there till we arrived.

"Ladies and gentlemen we have arrived. Feast your eyes on the Labyrinth of No Return." Anna said we literally no amount of confidence.

"If we eventually get passed this will we see The Jinx witch?" Mark asked.

"Oh no you won't. The owner of this labyrinth is an underline of Jinx. To get to her you'll need to go through the flaming Swamp. It's just ahead of here. That's IF we make it pass."

She said smiling. I had no idea why she always smiled when referring to The Labyrinth.

"Okay Anna, Aria We're heading in. Do be sure to stay close by. We're entering a maze. It won't be safe."

"Won't it be better to just split up? At least any one that finds the exit first should call to the nearest person."

"Umm about that I don't think that's the best option."

" Why is that Anna?"

" The Labyrinth is always in constant motion and I don't suggest splitting up. We should stay together. There is greater strength in numbers."

"Okay."

And so we were on our way. The moment we entered we heard a female voice call out.

"Welcome to the Maze of life. If you pass this you get to progress and meet my master if you don't, well , get ready to spend a lifetime here in my humble home."

"Before you head in if there's anyone if you that wishes to leave do so now or forever hold your peace?"

No response.

"Okay then your torture starts in Three, Two..........ONE!"
