Duel

The onlooking students were in an uproar!

The muscular guy was Azzo Müller. His family was a well known wealthy family in the city and he was a suitor of Jessica. Moreover, being a third-year student who was preparing for college, he was strong and had earth elemental ability.

So a lousy noob like Sam challenging a guy like Azzo was shocking!

Soon they registered for the duel and got into the duelling field of school along with the teacher as referee.

Azzo stood in the ring with a cocky grin while Sam had a twisted look on his face.

"This is just a trial match. Don't try to kill each other. I will immediately stop the match if anyone of you does so. Now begin." warned the teacher.

"Hmph, orphan trash! I never knew that you had the guts to challenge me with your measly ability. How dare you pester Miss Jessica? Since your dead parents didn't teach you a lesson, I will teach your bastard son a lesson today!" said Azzo viciously.

Sam replied nothing but his looks became more sinister.

The match started as the crowd booed Sam while cheering on Azzo. Azzo was the first to attack with the earth spikes. They surrounded Sam from different angles and attacked Sam from fatal positions.

Sam looked at the referee teacher from the corner of his eyes and saw that the hypocrite teacher had turned a blind eye to this fatal attack! He was on Azzo's side. Even the dwelling ground was also on barren earth rather than a metal ground, to give Azzo more preference in using his earth ability.

Sam fumed but he knew it was futile to try to reason with all these. A winner is a king and a loser is a thief!

As the spikes got close to him surrounding him in a cage, he used his footwork skill to escape the entanglement. Still, he was bruised as some earth spikes brushed past his skin.

Despite that, Sam confirmed Azzo"s strength by facing the attack.

Seeing Sam escaping, Azzo grinned creepily.

"Gravity" whispered Azzo.

Sam had escaped from the almost formed earth cage when he fell suddenly.

"Ah! What happened?" thought Sam.

Sam felt his hands and legs were tied with ten thousand Kgs of heavy loads. He never felt so heavy and slow in his life.

"Haha.. Look how pathetic that loser looked! Senior Azzo just used gravity on him"

"Yeah, Senior Azzo's earth spike and gravity both matches with each other. That guy is doomed."

"Hehe..he deserves it! How dare he disturb both of the school pearls!"

The crowd snickered, laughed and mocked at Sam's misery. Sam got to understand the skill used on him but it was late.

Boom! kachacck!~

An earth spike hooked straight at Sam's stomach as he was trying to get up and flee from the gravity centre.

Sam felt tremendous pain as he coughed up some mouthfuls of blood.

"Bastard!" cursed Sam as he broke the earth spike from the middle and withdrew it from his stomach painfully. Sam never felt so much pain other than the last battle with that lunatic rabbit!!

"Argh!" A gaping hole was left behind in the stomach as blood spew out from it crazily. Since no lotions or auxiliary equipment could be used in this 'friendly' duel, so Sam could only tear his clothes and wrap them around his wound to stop the blood flow temporarily.

"Hehe, only this? I never knew you were a pussy!" said Azzo provocatively.

Sam also grinned at him menacingly and said, "Since I now know that you are only peak level 5, so it's my turn to attack!"

Even though the heavy injury slowed his movements, he was still faster than Azzo and his earth spikes. But the trouble was his gravity skill which thwarted Sam's movements. But Sam gradually realized that he could move a little faster than he was before while being in gravity.

"Could it be that my body is adjusting?" thought Sam.

*Affirmative host. Your stats are far higher than that measly opponent. Your body can adapt quickly to this much gravity within 5 minutes. Try to avoid a head-on clash till then!* advised the system.

Sam's eyes gleamed. He looked at Azzo as he kept using his gravity ability to slow him and nasty earth spikes with barbs to nail him on the ground.

It was astounding that Sam could dodge each of them by some millimetres' gap! At first, it was considered a coincidence then it became spooky as even the I'm looking students realized that something was wrong!

Azzo fumed seeing Sam not injured anymore. Unable to keep up with his patience anymore, he tore up an earth spike to use it like a spear and rushed towards Sam.

This time Sam couldn't help but clash head-on.

Bam! Bam!

Azzo was quite skilful in using a spear, stabbing towards Sam through different angles, while Sam could block it directly with his arms. Long after his arms became bloody. It was only some minutes from the start of the fight and Sam was at utter disadvantages in both terrain and power.

Azzo didn't even give Sam time to summon his paperarts! Sam's face was ugly at that moment. On one hand, he needed to adjust his body to adapt to the gravity field while on the other hand, he had to defend Azzo's vicious attacks!

Moreover, the surrounding booes of the students messed up his mind and heart! Even though he was a transmigrator, he was a student in his past life without any experience as he was right now! He was a teenager who was still learning to adapt to this unknown world! He wasn't an overrated powerful and experienced guy!

Thus Sam was thoroughly distracted at that moment! And so, his movements became clumsy and was injured brutally by Azzo!

His arms and shoulders had critical injuries due to Azzo's attacks.

*Host! Calm down! You will die at this rate! You killed so many vicious beasts at the Alaska Jungle and now you can't even kill this level 5 human? Control your senses and cut off the surrounding voices. Control your agitated heart and defeat your opponent! If you can't even do this, then you are seriously not worthy of being the system's owner!* said the system coldly as it pacified Sam.

Sam jolted awoke at that moment.

The system was right! Defeating Azzo was quite easy. His paperarts could easily surround him to tear him apart! It was just that Azzo was an experienced fighter and he didn't give Sam time to retaliate!

Sam controlled his senses and ignored the booing and harsh mockings and completely utilized his sense in fighting.

Azzo spun his earth spear at he stabbed it viciously to Sam's shoulder invading it through his flesh. Sam gritted his teeth to ignore the immense pain of his shoulder and took that time to summon his paperarts.

"Roar!"

Azzo was taken aback as five paperwolves rushed towards him from different directions. He hastily let go of the spear embedded on Sam's shoulder and summoned earth spears to thwart the paperwolves!

Sam grinned menacingly at that moment!
