Chapter 10

Ra pov

Deja Vu in simplest terms could best describe mlwhat I was feeling at the moment. Regaining consciousness wasn't the best of experiences I've had so far in life and this time was no better. The headache could be said to be tame as compared to when I first used sunshine but the protest every other part of my body was giving right now definitely compensated for it. I wasn't covered in any bandages this time round but everything on the inside was aching. My sense of time was definitely screwed up as I had zero idea of how long I had been out of action and to make matters worse was there was a missing part of my memory during the final confrontation with Rayleigh. My thoughts were getting chaotic so I decided to calm down and properly analyse the situation I was in.

I closed my eyes regulated my breathing into a steady repetitive motion and after about three minutes I had calmed down. The pirates though not entirely familiar were not completely unknown to me. The red haired kid with the straw hat should be shanks, Rayleigh should be the old man that most of the Chinese refer to as pluton in the MTLs and their captain should be none other than the pirate king Gold Roger though he shouldn't have attained that title at the moment as he is obviously and very much so pretty alive. That means that I am still quite far from the beginning of the plot though how far exactly remains to be determined. I visibly relaxed as some of the tension I had amassed over the years due to having no clue of my entire situation went away. I was feeling tired and just decided to go back to sleep.

The next time I woke up,an unfarmiliar man was in my room busy touching and studying my body which almost scared me to death. He had black hair with yellow parts sticking out of its ends and a stubble beard completing his facial appearance.He was busy muttering something that I couldn't hear clearly under his breath and therefore he failed to notice the fact that I was awake or just ignored it completely. He had a pink tank top covering his upper body and a pink hat that had black spots on his head. He finally noticed my now awake state and immediately began scolding me." You are quite lucky to be alive kid, though you had almost succeeded in burning yourself up completely internally. That thing you did almost burned you to death and you are still just twelve years old and probably have no idea how precious life truly is ." I wisely remained silent and let the man huff and vent out his build up frustrations. When he was done and seemed to have relaxed, I forced out my voice and hoarsely asked,"So how is my condition right now?" He thought for a bit and replied."You were in a very bad condition at first but due to the combined efforts between your mother and I we have been able to stabilize your condition entirely a month later." Wait did he just say a month, I have been out for a whole freakinng month, I wanted to ask more but the man continued." The only reason you recovered much faster than approximated is due to the sun having a weird effect of healing and strengthening your body. After continuous exposure every single day your internal organs and bones seem to have healed and become stronger than before." He finished as he walked foward and opened the curtains to the huge windows on the back wall which I didn't have before in the room and let the sun's rays shine on me which in turn reduced the pain I was still experiencing. He then made his way out and standing by the door was mother.

Her hardened gazed slowly morphed into that of joy,relief then she broke down into tears as she sat beside me. She looked down denying me of seeing her face then after a few minutes in silence she lifted my upper body from the resting position and embraced me. The motherly love she gave off had saturated the air in the room and despite the pain I hugged her back closed my eyes and gave in to the comfortable feeling I was experiencing. The next moment I woke up I realised it was night but mother was seated on a chair beside the bed and looked at me. She smiled and looking at the moon through the open window she began,"You see Ra this isn't the first time a loved one of mine has been close to death. Your father has fought many battles at sea and many a time he was in a precarious situation or close to death. Every time I saw him in that state, my heart ached but I suppressed those feelings and believed him as he was the man I fell for and decided to spend the rest of my life with. Though I never got used to seeing him injured and probably never will I let him be after much deliberation as that was the path he chose for himself. But you Ra are different, you are my little sun in this darkness known as life and God be damned if I'd let you continue getting injured and follow your father's footsteps when I know I have the power to stop you from following this delirious path."

I was stumped, this was the first time we were having a heart to heart talk and the heavy emotions present right now left me unsure of how to reply. I observed her more deeply and noticed that she had hidden dark circles beneath her eyes and she was also thinner as compared to before. I pushed down all other rebellious thoughts, nodded as a sign of acceptance and moved to embrace her which she accepted with open arms.

It has been another two weeks since then and I have recovered enough to walk around. At the moment I am riding on goat san's back heading towards the Roger pirates' position who dad said had camped at the shore. I don't know what they have been doing here for over a month but I'd certainly not miss the chance to talk with the future pirate king especially now that I am conflicted about myself and the unknown future. I arrived at my destination got down from goat san's back and made my way to the cave the crew had gathered outside of. Rayleigh was the first to notice me and smiled as though the fight we had was not of much significance to him. As I got closer, the rest of the pirates just looked at me but didn't say anything minding their own business. Shanks seemed conflicted for a moment but just turned back to the fish he was smoking. I stood outside the cave for sometime and after steeling my resolve I made my way inside to where their captain Gold Roger, was. I had prepared myself for anything he would say but what he told me that day caught me offguard but being familiar and straightforward it very much so settled down my nerves.
