One is a lone police officer, driven by a strong sense of justice but lacking support from colleagues; the other is a tenacious reporter, tirelessly seeking breaking news.
"I'm going to start with Brooklyn and Queens, two places where cases are frequent, and ask local homeless people for information," Eddie immediately started planning. "By the way, about the two homeless people who died in the accident. Can you give me a copy of the autopsy report?"
"I'm afraid I can't do that," Goofy sighed. "The case file would have been sealed upon my discharge. Forcing it out would only arouse suspicion among my colleagues."
"Then it's up to me," Eddie declared, spreading his hands.
"Don't be nervous; I will assist you in investigating this matter after I am discharged from the hospital. After all, it is my duty to prevent the evil human experiment of the Oscorp."
"Oh? Oscorp is a giant company in New York, are you not afraid of getting into trouble," Eddie asked with a smile.
"For justice, I am not afraid to sacrifice," Goofy said sternly. "This is the duty of a police officer."
"Oh!" Eddie was awe-inspiring and thought to himself, "This policeman is a bit stubborn!"
[Admiration from Eddie Brock +2]
Goofy smiled lightly. "So from now on, the two of us will be each other's informants? If there is any news about this matter, let's communicate in time."
"No problem," Eddie nodded and then slipped out of the ward while no one found him.
---
After lying in the ward for two more days, Goofy went through the discharge procedures and left the hospital. With his current physique, which is 1.9 times that of an ordinary person, several fractures on his body will soon recover. If he stays longer, he will be exposed sooner or later.
The nurse was reluctant to part with him. On the day he was discharged from the hospital, she specially sent a bouquet of recovery bouquets. As a patient, he was able to get the nurse to offer flowers on his own initiative.
After being discharged from the hospital, Goofy received a heroic welcome. The NYPD also specially awarded Goofy the Medal of Honor, which represents the heroic and fearless spirit, and a gold star on a green background. Goofy inevitably gained another wave of worship points, but fortunately, this wave of worship points did not cause further upgrades.
Considering Goofy's injury, Hank did not let him go to work immediately but allowed him to continue to recuperate at home for a while. But Goofy couldn't be idle. He hid at home during the day and pretended to be recovering, and at night, he changed his clothes and went out to investigate the homeless incident.
Taking advantage of the deep night in New York, Goofy walked through the streets of Brooklyn and came back to the business district, where he had encountered robbers. Ole, the homeless man who was once rescued by Goofy, is still here, standing in a burning fire next to the iron barrel.
"Ole! Ole!"
Goofy called out his name in a low voice, and Ole, who was behind his ears, took a long time to hear.
Looking back, he immediately recognized Goofy—there are very few Asians in this area, and even more rare are those who dare to wander around at night.
"Oh! My savior!" Ole is a kind-hearted guy, excitedly walking towards Goofy while introducing him to the homeless friends around him. "Everyone, come and see; this is my savior I mentioned was the one who saved me; otherwise, I would have been thrown into the Hudson River to feed the fish now."
Goofy has a black line on his face: I'm not a rare animal, so why is everyone watching it together?
His friends immediately came over with Ole and expressed their curiosity about Goofy.
"I heard that you are proficient in Kung Fu."
"I heard that you and Ole teamed up to beat away dozens of men in black."
"I heard that those men in black have knives and guns and are extremely cruel."
"I heard that you can move fast enough to dodge bullets."
Goofy stared blankly at the group of homeless people. Where did these rumors come from? 80% is Ole himself talking nonsense in front of his friends and doing a lot of artistic processing of the experience that night.
"Listen, friends, I'm here to investigate the group of men in black who kidnapped you," Goofy said, "Have you seen them this time?"
"What do you have to investigate?" Ole said with an all-knowing look, "I already guessed their identities; they must be people from the government department. came to Kill us all; it's that simple."
"That's right!" Another homeless man next to him said angrily, "In their eyes, we are not even as good as mice crossing the street!"
"Damn, but we are also citizens, and we are the owners of this land!" a white woman shouted angrily.
"Uh, I'm not; I smuggled in." A little Latino brother said it timidly.
"It's not that simple." Goofy hurriedly stopped them from speaking and said in a deep voice, "The background of the people who kidnapped you is very complicated, and they won't let it go. In order to prevent more homeless people from being killed, we must find them."
"Find the government department? It's impossible." Ole insisted that the man in black was the main government department.
Goofy shook his head and said, "No, they are not from the official department, I assure you. Even if they are the official department, I will bring them to justice."
"Bring them to justice?" Ole asked with a questioning face, "Dude, you seem to be a judge."
Goofy showed his credentials: "I'm not a judge, but I'm a policeman. Any illegal act on my site will be severely punished by the law! No matter if it's a personal act, a corporate act, or a government act!"
"What? Are you... a police officer?"
A few homeless people turned pale in shock, and a guy who was smoking quickly stomped out his cigarette. "Send me back!"
Goofy wasn't interested in these trivial reactions; he just wanted to get closer to Norman Osborn.
"Don't be so nervous; I'm here purely to solve the case of kidnapping the homeless. Keep an eye for me and report to me immediately if there is any trouble, understand?"
"Understood!" The homeless promised, to appreciate a police officer willing to stand up for them.
"Okay, tell me now. Have you seen the black van or men in black that kidnapped Ole last time? Or, did any of your homeless friends suddenly disappear?" Goofy asked in a deep voice.
Ole rolled his eyes and said in a low voice, "I haven't seen the men in black, but Fat Hart on East 108th Street has disappeared for a long time."
"That's right, I haven't seen Fat Hart for a long time. We used to team up for robberies...," a burly homeless man added, quickly closing his mouth mid-sentence.
"Let's go to Fat Hart's side and see; maybe there's something to be gained," the blurry homeless man couldn't wait to accompany Goofy.
Goofy nodded lightly, then took out his phone and edited a text message for Eddie Bullock.
It's time to send him out.
